I believe that is an American-made star used as a tree topper to honor our president. 😁

Eh? It’s a thread about royal Christmas cards. It’s reasonable to assume that any picture on it is a royal Christmas card. And I will fight to the death for my right to say that it’s not a very good picture of the PofW. Not sure why this is such a big deal for you-but can I respectfully suggest that you don’t derail it. Not very fair on the OP.

I assume that a royal Christmas card is intended as a token of recognition and they’re not the cards they send their personal circle?

You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion, and I’m sure you’ll be jumping with joy to criticise the Waleses’ Christmas card when it’s released, just like when you jumped the gun and criticised a photo that wasn’t even the card. You’re very transparent 🤣

My family tree is mostly plastic ornaments from when my parents got married in the 1950's and bought their first plastic tree. We all have cats in my family so we stay away from glass ornaments and tinsel. The tree is secured to curtain rods to prevent it from toppling when climbed by a cat. I have no problems with plastic on a tree.

Thanks to tariffs, it is over $200 for a small real tree in NYC. Most of the vendors are from Canada who drive down just for the season. They live in their vans and depart on Christmas Eve.

These ‘official’ ones are sent out to all their charities and other contacts but they also send them in return to anyone who sends one to them apparently.

Not sure what they do for each other and close friends.

i wonder if they do round robins for their friends and family.

This is always such a mystery to me too. It seems extremely arrogant, strongly suggesting that they believe Christmas is all about... them! It may be a little different if you have a baby or very young child and you put a lovely photo of them on the card; but adults? Perfect if it IS all about you - order of service for your wedding or funeral or invitation to your big birthday celebration; but Christmas?!

I don't know what the score is with Charles and William, whether they have kept/are planning to keep the status of head of the Church of England; but you might just think that they'd bear that at least a tiny bit in mind when choosing a picture for their Christmas card, showing what Christmas supposedly represents to them.

Nah, they probably just sign them up for a year's subscription to Hello magazine!

The year that the Wales family released a photo from Morocco was probably the most Christmassy card, if you define that as most like the setting of the nativity.

They're just showing off that they can afford to buy stamps!
