As ever, WLM, PR disasters continued

Online, people are pointing out that a very expensive cashmere jumper that Meg wore on suits, also made its way to her wardrobe

It’s been nothing but PR disasters of late.

What I have noticed which is curious - is that the UK tabloids are not running with P6 story about the dress. Just like they avoided talking about the NY car chase. They only reported on the media frenzy. But, we know Harry sent out some sort of memo not to publish photos etc. None of the UK press did. Now Meg has acknowledged the stolen dress story and released an official refute ….and none of the UK press are even reporting on that?

That’s weird. They will literally print any old Meg story to get clicks…..but not this one???

The articles on this issue are mainly American.

He could have a career in panto, it pays quite well for the big names...

Oh no he couldn't!

Sorry.

An American review from the Washington Post...

Meghan Markle’s Christmas special can’t be how she imagined her life - The Washington Post

“With Love, Meghan” is probably a pretty good fit, but no matter how genuinely Meghan tries to come across on screen, I felt irritable toward her. Either her advice felt so basic as to be condescending (Yes, Meghan, even we peasants understand to hang ornaments so they catch the light), or so elevated as to be out of touch (Babe, I work full time and clean my own toilet; I don’t have time to make my family members personalized Advent calendars), and always delivered with a level of chipper that nobody with children younger than 8 should be able to relate to.

No, I think pantomime would be too much like hard work.

And he'd need a full armed security escort at all times, what with him being such a high profile target.

Oh of course. Courtesy of the UK Taxpayers.

He was awful - so stilted! I've seen better at primary school events. I was embarrassed for him. He's so stupid he can't see he's being used by other people. Why on God's Earth would he start poking at Trump? 🤷‍♀️

Because he thinks he'll be onside with the liberal elite?
Because he thinks it's going to make him look more "right on" than the working RF who recently hosted Trump?.
Although he probably has no idea why.

Indianrollerbird · 04/12/2025 10:54

I'll laugh like a drain if his un-redacted visa form suddenly gets leaked.

You have Harry acting like a twat on this and meanwhile Meghan is looking angry at the state of her " holiday" wreath while Kelly's gets praised by the team filming. 😂 You really couldn't make this up. She ridiculed the curtsey with the LQ as being like Medieval Times. Both of them are now living this life.

FleurDeFleur · 04/12/2025 10:58

Imagine openly ridiculing others - for money and headlines, then behaving like that.

Thedom · 04/12/2025 11:07

Things seem to have gone from bad to worse under the new PR team !

BemusedAmerican · 04/12/2025 11:10

That was pathetic! It's sad he is so pathetic.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/12/2025 11:11

I do hope whoever is making the decisions realises he really can't be trusted to be a working royal ever again. Imagine him in a tricky diplomatic reception or on a royal tour representing the country

It's entirely possible they realised that years ago, @bluegreygreen; after all, courtesy of the "grey suits" it was mainly the rest of us who didn't realise quite what a liability he is

As with Edward VIII, it may even be that they regarded his departure as quite fortuitous, even if sad from a family POV

NaturalW · 04/12/2025 11:26

PH is the classic definition of the ‘useful idiot’ - lots of people pulling his strings for their own agendas yet his own grandiosity and delusion can’t see it.

BemusedAmerican · 04/12/2025 11:30

If only there had been a legitimate ICE raid on the Colbert show. ICE agents dragging Harry out to discuss his visa status....

AtIusvue · 04/12/2025 11:37

The arrogance of the man- a guest in another country, and he thinks he’s entitled to make political jokes?

Mocking his titles, that his wife is so desperate to stamp everywhere, that she even has a tacky monogrammed doormat (not talking about Harry)

Like the doormat joke 🤣!
Meghan even has monogrammed notepaper with a coronet on it 😂! You couldn't make it up.

BasiliskStare · 04/12/2025 12:04

The Colbert thing was cringeworthy. I don't use words like "the man's a buffoon " lightly , but , really?

"You Americans are obsessed with Royalty" ( may be a paraphrase ) - Well, Harry , that is what you and M are banking on isn't it. ? So you certainly want to believe it.

My advice to Harry is don't go to NF with a first refusal idea , or whatever their deal is now, of Harry being a stand up comedian. 😊

Thewolffromthedoor89 · 04/12/2025 12:06

I’ve just watched it because of all the comments on here! Thought it was fine! Some of it was actually quite funny.

Loved Colbert’s summary of the standard Hallmark Christmas movie plot! 😁

Just a bit of fun at Christmas!

And surely anyone making a Trump joke is good news?

Honestly, from the comments on here you’d think Harry had taken a chain saw to a granny’s leg live on stage or something,

The “I’ll do anything” comments were obviously sending himself up,

And the DM headlines about booing were completely inaccurate too.. The booing was a mock response to Harry’s joke about the USA electing “a King”. And it was meant in fun. To be expected from the DM but why blindly follow their take on this?

Some of you need to lighten up.

We've just got different opinions to you. It's allowed.

Did you watch the whole thing? The obsessed with royalty comment was part of a pastiche about Hallmark Christmas movies. Colbert read some mock titles out at the beginning of the sketch and it was stuff like “Prince finds love in small town Nebraska” or maybe that was Harry’s line.

You lot will twist anything to use as a stick to beat him with!

FleurDeFleur · 04/12/2025 12:13

I think there are probably proper hardline royalists who would support Harry because he is a prince. By extension, Meghan too.
They would curtsey to them and value their every action of self promotion.
H&M probably banking on the hard core fans, maybe?
Good luck to them. It's been quite a career.

Some of you were actually criticising a child earlier down thread bc their hair wasn’t brushed to your satisfaction!

I thought it was toe curling from start to finish but humour is subjective.

Anyone can make fun of whoever they like, but someone who insists on being introduced by his British royal titles really should not be cracking political jokes at the expense of the Head of State of his host country. However obnoxious he may be.

bluegreygreen · 04/12/2025 12:24

@FleurDeFleur No, I didn't (didn't watch - the report was enough!). Interestingly, one of the royal correspondents (Rebecca English) on YouTube recently said as long as she had known him he'd always enjoyed the celebrity aspects.

@Puzzledandpissedoff that's a very good point.
