As ever, WLM, PR disasters continued

Online, people are pointing out that a very expensive cashmere jumper that Meg wore on suits, also made its way to her wardrobe

It’s been nothing but PR disasters of late.

What I have noticed which is curious - is that the UK tabloids are not running with P6 story about the dress. Just like they avoided talking about the NY car chase. They only reported on the media frenzy. But, we know Harry sent out some sort of memo not to publish photos etc. None of the UK press did. Now Meg has acknowledged the stolen dress story and released an official refute ….and none of the UK press are even reporting on that?

That’s weird. They will literally print any old Meg story to get clicks…..but not this one???

The articles on this issue are mainly American.

a review of Meghans jam and opening, it’s not sealed properly!

This video shows us the pic of the unopened box, and then there’s an edit cut and we see the box already opened and the hand putting down the knife.

I’m not convinced 😂😂

I do kind of wish the DofS had stayed with Chelsy. Ir would have been fun imagining TLQ and the DofE practising saying the name without curling a lip….

I doubt they would have curled a lip, they have a granddaughter called Zara after all!

I do think that Harry would have liked living in "Africa" but I'm not sure whether Chelsy would have enjoyed being married to him.

I’m sure they were well used to saying names of people from other cultures without judging. And also they presumably knew Chelsy already anyway, given she and Harry were together for several years and she attended various family events.

myrtleWilson · 01/12/2025 07:42

Why would they ‘curl a lip’ @CurlewKate ?

Seems to me these Californian kids have been ‘seen’ so many times more than G, C & L.
yet one of the reasons for leaving was because they wouldn’t have much privacy for their children 😂

and also, just being picky, but why do Harry and his kids wear a different cap to her royal highness???

No they absolutely haven’t been “seen many more times than G, C & L”

This thread is vile

For the same reason many Mumsnetters would.🤣

Own your own snobbery, please. Leave the rest of us out of it.

Indianrollerbird · 01/12/2025 09:17

Gosh, people not being able to cope with a slightly unusual first name. How very Katie Hopkins.

Happy to own my own snobbery.Personally, I could probably cope with Chelsea, but not Chelsey. Or Chelsy-whichever it is. But it’s the snobbery of the English upper classes I’m talking about! 🤣

Indianrollerbird · 01/12/2025 09:32

So Mumsnet if full of the English upper classes now? Who knew!

Are you upper class?

Projection on your part. There is no difference in pronunciation, so you are sneering at someone because of the way their name is spelt. I am sure she is a lovely woman and I hope she is enjoying her marriage and young family, despite having her name dragged through the press every time they want to run a story on Aitch, but can't think of anything he has done that is newsworthy.

ThePoshUns · 01/12/2025 09:39

I feel so sorry for the woman, she will forever be associated with the ginger whinger, despite never reporting publicity. She must be forever grateful that she had a lucky escape though.

I’m not sneering at her. I’m sneering at TLQ and Prince Philip.

But they had never given a single indication that they would have a problem with the name "Chelsy". So it's you projecting your snobbery onto them. As you stated above, you can't cope with the name.

NormaMajors1992coat · 01/12/2025 10:04

Honestly I’m sure the Queen and Philip could manage to say a name from another culture without sneering. That kind of behaviour is more middle class ime.

What’s so sneer worthy about the name Chelsy? Their family already includes a Zara, an Autumn, a Meghan, and a Savannah so is hardly a bastion of traditional names. Chelsy is probably on par with Meghan in both style and spelling. Do you think they sneered at Meghan’s name too?

Your comment reads less like an observation about the royals and more like a bit of snobbery on your part. Perhaps your own bias is showing?

Mylovelygreendress · 01/12/2025 10:18

Not to mention the Duke of Gloucester’s mixed race grandchildren Senna Kowhai and Tāne Mahuta.

As a curious thought, as a white South African, she might be eligible for Trump's asylum thing.

Imagine the possibilities if that scenario came about.

This is not a serious post by the way :-)

Indianrollerbird · 01/12/2025 10:24

Chelsy is from Zimbabwe. And about to move to Mauritius. I think she'll be fine 😂

Supposed to be doing one to Australia.

A world runny jam spread tour ?

I would not have thought borrowed private jets have that range. Not the small ones anyway. And I can't see Murdoch loaning one of his big ones.

It's a really strange thing really I think. H&M are wealthy beyond comprehension ( mine anyway), yet they are not as wealthy as the set they seek to be part of.

Soho House would be a good customer for the candles as they could light them in their cozy common rooms and also place them in the hotel rooms to promote. It feels like the products are better placed at Soho House than at a bookshop.

Candles in a bookshop just sounds like a small inferno waiting to happen. As does sticky jam and marmalade, not an inferno, but a nasty mess!
