What a pompous, self-righteous article. Can you believe this?
This is where I am reminded that Meghan, like me, is an elder millennial, born in 1981. We are a maligned bunch, hated by our elders for our generational insistence on authenticity and social justice, derided by those younger for our earnest belief that the world is capable of change—what Gen Z has labeled “cringe.”
Whhaaattt?? Aren't you forgetting earlier generations, beginning with Caroline Norton two centuries ago, the Suffragettes, people like Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela? women in the 60s...(gasp) the Boomers!! who actually stimulated the revolution of "women's lib", who marched against Vietnam, and forced awareness of the exploitation of women?
or this?
Meghan is of a generation of women who were taught to seek self-actualization through work.
Ermm...for this it's my mother's generation, those who discovered themselves during the war, doing men's work
Or women such as this in the 1950s:
“The only way for a woman, as for a man, to find herself, to know herself as a person, is by creative work of her own.”
― Betty Friedan, The Feminine Mystique
