Meg n Harry trick or treating with booze?

AtIusvue · 01/11/2025 22:16

Meg appears to have wine tumbler cooler and Harry has a bottle of something to take their kids tricking or treating.
Why the hell would you be drinking while looking after your kids? I mean, it’s definitely a chore taking the kids round the houses…..but I’m sure most people can do it without resorting to hitting the vino!

Not remotely desperate - just don't like hypocrisy.

Would be very happy for them to be doing whatever they wanted if they hadn't made specific pronouncements on things.

Getting a bit desperate now!!

We've no way of knowing what's in the drinks containers - and it doesn't really matter.
The relevance of the photos is -

They are from Backgrid, the agency that the Sussexes call when they want media shots; again showing their hypocrisy in all their comments about being unable to do 'everyday family things with the children' in the UK because of the media.

The fact they exist points to the Sussexes being firmly embedded in the 'celebrity' rather than 'royal' lifestyle. We don't see similar photos of any of the other royal children (current or previous).

This is, of course, the week Harry has been very vocal against putting children on social media (Hasan Minhaj podcast). In the same week his wife has posted Hallowe'en pictures and video of the children to her Instagram and we have these arranged photos.

Oh give it up why don't you?

This thread just illustrates how pathetic some people are to just find anything wrong with the couple and dig and dig until they do and then if that doesn't work bring a load of other stuff into it

Did they announce something about walking round where they live trickl treating with their kids?
Missed that

If I want a drink, I sit down and enjoy it, whether it’s coffee or something stronger. Even water. How can you enjoy a drink when you’re walking about with it? Or is it an age thing? I am an old fart and I managed to make it to my age without a drink welded to my hand at all times.

Fuck me. Now they’re wrong for”walking whilst holding a bottle”

Listen, I know saying this won't make a difference to people like you but Backgrid photos do not automatically mean a celebrity called the paps, as Backgrid is a photo agency that hosts pictures taken by freelance photographers. It is similar to a newswire service.

Imagine - one of the royals firmly entrenched in the family is accused of raping trafficked teenagers but here we are talking about Harry and Meghan's drinkware and them staging paparazzi shots. Wth.

TheChicDreamer · 02/11/2025 12:59

Blimey. It’s not exactly liquid ket, op. No worse than having a drink or two at a family and friends party. In a gated community their kids will be super safe anyway.

Bully for you.

Why do you feel the need to sneer at those with different ideas?

I used to take a beer when walking my dogs, if I felt like it. Yesterday afternoon I had one while doing garden cleanup. Most parents out for Halloween had a drink as they chatted with others on the street. It’s perfectly normal.

Spectre8 · 02/11/2025 13:25

Well if we ever hear posters like OP bleating on about how its just criticism we cna just point to this absilute batshittery of a thread that only proves that posters like OP truly hate them.

CatHairEveryWhereNow · 02/11/2025 13:49

I have a water bottle like that - we got it second hand metal one coloured bottle bit plain silver metal top. I've no idea what Harry has in it - she looks like she has an insulated cup of some sort - my kids have those for tea.

TBH they look fairly normal couple there no idea why OP jumped to bottles of alcohol - even if they are full of alcohol as long as they don't drive and remain capable of caring for the kids not really seeing the issue TBH.

There's lots of batshit stuff they actually do and talk about in interviews and books - no idea why the desperate need to make out something so ordinary is neferious.

I’ve just read that in California, that some people take a drink with them to go round the houses and some houses put out drinks for the parents. Any Americans know if this is true?

I don't know about CA. However, I work in a NYC neighborhood famous for its Halloween celebrations. They start at 4 pm while it is still light out and we have thousands of kids and parents in the streets. I've only seen candy handed out to the kids. The adults are too busy watching the kids and chatting with each to drink. I suspect they drink once it's over.

Lndnmummy · 02/11/2025 14:19

My friends and I always bring mulled wine when we go trick or treating. I thought that was a fairly normal thing to do?

EmpressSisi · 02/11/2025 14:58

Trick-or-treating with booze for the adults? I clearly need to spend Halloween in the U.S! Is that a West Coast thing or do people do it everywhere? I’ve always wanted to visit Salem at Halloween.

They, and anyone else for that matter, can walk about carrying anything they like, my post wasn’t a criticism, though reading it back it looks like that. I really don’t understand though, why anyone would want to walk along drinking anything at all, because I don’t see how you can enjoy it. Stopping and taking a seat to savour the drink yes, but not walking about. I see it all the time in supermarkets etc and I wonder how people can enjoy a drink like that.

No you don't. I go to Salem regularly as I like the Peabody Essex and the historic houses and seafront and you can get to Boston quickly for a day trip. I go on the off season. The store owners have told me that from June to December the town is so packed that they have to hire bouncers to regulate store visitors. The stores make lots of money but it is exhausting. There is still plenty to see and do in off season and there is a great local bakery.

It’s a water bottle! Probably with water for the kids. What’s there to savour ?
I mean I trailer after DD trick or treating with a bottle of Lucozade in my bag. Because I was thirsty and tired, not to “savour” it.

Give it a rest FFS

Some posters on here need to learn about moving on.

I don't give a shit about what they are drinking but why are they out in Santa Barbara with their kids? They don't live there. First the pumpkin patch at Santa Barbara and now this.

What's wrong with Montecito?

I thought rich people like the Kardashians etc all had these extravagant at home parties for their kids and friends? Were the Sussexes not invited anywhere and they had to resort to grifting in Santa Barbara?

HooverIsAlwaysBroken · 02/11/2025 16:47

Trick or treating with wine??? Not a bad idea, I hate Halloween, maybe this is where I go wrong, I need to get wine for next year 🍷

More unpleasant than making shit up, stating it as fact, and insisting it’s a fact?

Let’s face it, H&M are perfectly capable of fucking up and doing things to be criticised for. Why the need to make stuff up?

Are they never allowed to set foot outside of Montecito ...you realise how absolutely crazy you sound...saying two people shouldn't habe gone to another area.

"Squad" ffs. People are actually quite capable of having views that don't match yours without being part of some cabal. Particularly on a subject as stupid as 'should people be shamed for holding a cup that could, possibly but not necessarily, hold alcohol in a situation where it is fine to drink alcohol?'
