Meg n Harry trick or treating with booze?

Meg appears to have wine tumbler cooler and Harry has a bottle of something to take their kids tricking or treating.
Why the hell would you be drinking while looking after your kids? I mean, it’s definitely a chore taking the kids round the houses…..but I’m sure most people can do it without resorting to hitting the vino!

I really don’t understand this granular level of obsession with this couple. They’re clearly just cups. You can have different liquids in different types of crockery… who knew?? Sometimes I put orange squash in a wine glass if I’m feeling particularly fancy! Arrest me!

But even if she had a glass of wine in the evening? Is that such a crime? Has nobody ever had a glass while doing something with their kids? Just yesterday I was at a 2nd birthday party that hosted a large group of family alongside the kids, they had a bar, I had a Prosecco. Chilly-out 😉

And people wondered why they don’t like it here.

What a fucking reach.

I used to think people like the OP didn’t exist outside of satire but here they are.

Brickiscool · 02/11/2025 09:28

I've taken a mug of mulled wine trick and treating before 🤷‍♀️

Kidsgotothatschool · 02/11/2025 09:29

I know I’d rather hang out with H and M than @AtIusvue

You hate Harry and Meghan so much that you feel sorry for the British press?? Harry achieved a significant legal victory against News Group Newspapers Ltd, the UK arm of Rupert Murdoch's media empire.

The case highlighted unlawful actions which included phone hacking, surveillance and the misuse of private information. These acts reportedly spanned from 1996 to 2011 which means that they started when Harry was a child of 11.

Anyone who takes the side of Rupert Murdoch is an arsehole as far as I'm concerned.

For accuracy: it wasn't a legal victory. It was settled out of court.

LOL, Don’t go and read the comments from the US readership of the Page Six article , the American publication who posted the pap photos in the first place.

There is still time for them to be accused of doing this too. The day is young.

It wouldn’t take much. Just being in the presence of a tree that vaguely looks human shaped in the dark. People see what they want to see.

Made me laugh, thanks! Even if it was in a seething, I-can't-believe-Harry-is-the-most-hated-Royal-when-his-uncle-is-literally-a-child-sex-offender kind of way.

I’ve just read that in California, that some people take a drink with them to go round the houses and some houses put out drinks for the parents. Any Americans know if this is true?

Lots of my American friends often do this, Halloween and otherwise. They often go on neighbourhood walks with a glass of wine.

I’ve no idea if houses put drinks out for parents; though.

Even if it is alcohol, what's the big deal?

It is thought, by almost everyone including UK guardian editor, to be a £10million win (and he got an apology if I remember correctly). The editor explained why all people settle with Murdoch - it’s because in the UK you can win the case and still have to pay the costs of the person you win against. Murdoch has very expensive and many lawyers, deep pockets, and he deliberately spares no expense

True

This must be a gated community so they must be pissed off with people taking pics

and randoms debating everything on public forums for no reason

Maybe it builds the next narrative… Harry so depressed he’s an alcoholic and can’t stand being around Meghan without a little pick me up.

Nearly the whole world can read the comments. Media is global now. And so are comments pages. All you have to do is put in an email address to join. There are plenty of Brits on there, I’ll wager.

CathyorClaire · 02/11/2025 09:48

Hmmm.

If I had to go trick or treating (fortunately I don't) I might just be reaching for a drop of the strong stuff too.

Whole thing might be slightly more entertaining had they been papped with a spliff or a packet of mushies 🍄

jumpingthehighjump · 02/11/2025 10:04

Give it a rest FFS

And let two parents trick or treat in peace with their little kids

Some posters on here need to learn about moving on.

I don't wish to derail the thread with this, so will simply say that just because a number of people think it was a win doesn't make it so. An out-of-court settlement is not a legal victory.

There were threads here discussing the legal facts (and what was and was not apologised for) if you are interested.

If anyone needs examples of how obsessive people can be when it comes to H&M, this thread is a perfect example.

They are simply existing and OP is looking for ways to throw mud.

Absolutely nuts.

Precisely!

Op has totally undermined their own arguments by posting this!

bigboykitty · 02/11/2025 10:18

Even the H&M haters, hate this poxy thread. What an achievement!

IAmATorturedPoet · 02/11/2025 10:19

This thread has had more posts since it was started (12 hours ago) than the majority of AMW threads that have been running for several days.

Just saying (and contributing)😊

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 02/11/2025 10:22

This thread would be in classics, if it wasn't so pathetic!

Huntrix · 02/11/2025 10:24

Haha this thread is wild. I live in a pretty naice area and when we go trick or treating I see lots of mums and dads in little groups and they're drinking cans of premixed cocktails or beers. They all look like they're having a great time and no one gets sloshed. I fancied a little hot toddy or similar on Friday when trick or treating as I was cold and poorly, but I didn't have any booze in the house so that was that.

Noseyoldcow · 02/11/2025 10:38

If I want a drink, I sit down and enjoy it, whether it’s coffee or something stronger. Even water. How can you enjoy a drink when you’re walking about with it? Or is it an age thing? I am an old fart and I managed to make it to my age without a drink welded to my hand at all times.

bluegreygreen · 02/11/2025 10:49

We've no way of knowing what's in the drinks containers - and it doesn't really matter.
The relevance of the photos is -

They are from Backgrid, the agency that the Sussexes call when they want media shots; again showing their hypocrisy in all their comments about being unable to do 'everyday family things with the children' in the UK because of the media.

The fact they exist points to the Sussexes being firmly embedded in the 'celebrity' rather than 'royal' lifestyle. We don't see similar photos of any of the other royal children (current or previous).

This is, of course, the week Harry has been very vocal against putting children on social media (Hasan Minhaj podcast). In the same week his wife has posted Hallowe'en pictures and video of the children to her Instagram and we have these arranged photos.

Well at least they are not shagging trafficked teenagers.

They called the RF racist, and thats much worse, and they upset The Late Queen more than her having to pay for her son to avoid having to go to court!
