Meg n Harry trick or treating with booze?

AtIusvue · 01/11/2025 22:16

Meg appears to have wine tumbler cooler and Harry has a bottle of something to take their kids tricking or treating.
Why the hell would you be drinking while looking after your kids? I mean, it’s definitely a chore taking the kids round the houses…..but I’m sure most people can do it without resorting to hitting the vino!

Meg n Harry trick or treating with booze?

Pretty much every parent in my neighborhood has either wine or beer in their cup as they walk the neighborhood on Halloween. Yes, some homes hand out refills. It’s a time honored tradition. No one gets drunk. It’s all very tame. Just a bit of sipping as you socialize.

jumpingthehighjump · 02/11/2025 04:34

The only thing established by this thread is that Meghan and Harry can't go out and do what other parents do (trick or treating) without some obsessive posting on a UK forum about how awful they are for carrying what other parents freely do

Sad. Weird. Odd.

Marcusparkus · 02/11/2025 04:37

You OK OP? We're here for you if you've run out of wine

Firealarm1414 · 02/11/2025 05:07

Haven't read the full thread but it's pretty normal to have a drink while trick or treating in the US. Some people even give out mini shot bottles or other alcohol to parents alongside the candy for kids. And why not? Its makes the traipsing around more fun and bearable lol. Can't really get worked up about this tbh.

ElaineBurdock · 02/11/2025 02:59

That's true. It's not a good look for them, if that is booze. They have driven with open containers.
My state is stricter about drinking while out and about.

How do you know they drove? And with open containers? Maybe they made/grabbed the drinks after they parked? Maybe they walked or had a driver?

Also the person going on about it being illegal to have an open container in california is being ridiculous. People regularly drink alcohol in public at events such as trick or treating or other block parties, you're not going to get in trouble unless you are making a nuisance of yourself. I'm pretty sure prince Harry and Meghan are safe. And I regularly take the piss out of/disagree with them for their antics, but this is a nothingburger.

Thepossibility · 02/11/2025 05:21

I enjoyed a drink as I was handing out candy. Gasp! I didn't realise it was illegal, children were definitely present.

Strawberrydelight78 · 02/11/2025 05:24

That's an insulated cup keeps drink cold or hot. It's not like she's swigging from a hip flask. Harry might be drinking non alcoholic beer or he might just be having actual beer. So what he's not walking around absolutely sozzled. He might want to consider hiding it in a brown paper bag next time he step's out his door swigging one.🤣🤣🤣

Ilovebabykangaroo · 02/11/2025 05:39

REALLY!

Some people need to get a life!

And I’m not referring to H & M

MartianBreaks · 02/11/2025 05:47

Even if it is who cares. Why are celebrities (no matter how loose the term) held at a different standard?
Around here that's the norm. The parents get together for a few drinks to enjoy themselves while they have the task of accompanying the kids. It isn't a big deal. No one gets drunk nor does it turn into a 3 day bender. I don't see the issue and I am the furthest from a fan of theirs as anyone but I don't get the time wasted looking for things many people do to post about just because it's them.

We don't do Halloween at all I don't like people banging on my door so I never brought the kids up celebrating it but I know from friends and our community pages that most parents do this.

Live and let live and save the pearl clutching for things that are actually bad.
Very strange thread.

Wellthatsacharlingknot · 02/11/2025 05:59

Fhs leave them alone!

BlindSpotForCats · 02/11/2025 06:23

I think H and M are both ghastly, but bleeding heck. What, are parents not supposed to drink for 18 years because of looking after their children? I was out at Bonfire night last night and shock horror had a pint of lager, a Pimms and a white wine!

Quite frankly, if it's normal in the US to have a sip of something while taking the kids ttrick or treating then that's a tradition I can get behind.

Pleasegetmeacoffeesotired · 02/11/2025 06:26

Very normal to have alcoholic drinks/treats for the parents. Houses here were handing out jello shots and boozy brownies to the adults.

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 02/11/2025 06:28

Personally, I can’t stand Harry or Meghan.

But, this is barrel scraping.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 02/11/2025 06:32

Oh, do get a life @AtIusvue 🙄

PumpkinPieAlibi · 02/11/2025 06:33

It's embarrassing how desperate some people are to prove them...what? Bad? Drunkards? Evil? Conniving? A plague on the British?

What is the point of this reaching nonsense? Does it actually make anyone feel good spending their Saturday night tracking down mugs to further their hate?

thepariscrimefiles · 02/11/2025 06:37

AtIusvue · 01/11/2025 22:44

Well the DM is the least of their problems. The DM hasnt published pics of their kids trick or treating. Page Six have.

Yet it’s always the British press Harry seems to go after…..

You hate Harry and Meghan so much that you feel sorry for the British press?? Harry achieved a significant legal victory against News Group Newspapers Ltd, the UK arm of Rupert Murdoch's media empire.

The case highlighted unlawful actions which included phone hacking, surveillance and the misuse of private information. These acts reportedly spanned from 1996 to 2011 which means that they started when Harry was a child of 11.

Anyone who takes the side of Rupert Murdoch is an arsehole as far as I'm concerned.

KickHimInTheCrotch · 02/11/2025 06:43

Who cares? Nothing wrong with having a little drink out and about. They aren't staggering around and vomiting in the bushes so I suspect still capable parents.

I dont understand why we can't just leave them alone. They've left the UK and they're doing their own thing, get over it.

sunshinestar1986 · 02/11/2025 06:45

AtIusvue · 01/11/2025 22:24

Because its a wine tumbler and the glass bottle with a brown liquid. Could be witches brew (cola and irn bru)

Invested much?
Guess haters gotta hate

Pricelessadvice · 02/11/2025 06:47

I’m not a fan of theirs but good god, leave them to trick or treat with their kids in peace!

Racists do.

WTF was racist about my comment ??

Page six

‘Harry carried two bottles of an unknown drink while Markle held a stemless wine cup. The photo agency claimed it’s a local tradition to hand out candy for kids and wine for adults.’

So it is a wine tumbler. Coffee thermos cups aren’t typically shape.

So very likely they are drinking. Seen as its tradition …seemingly.

Have this cup, use it for coffee or tea, just like the way it fits in my hand.

Cakeandcardio · 02/11/2025 06:54

Will make trick or treating more fun for them too.

Sillysop92 · 02/11/2025 07:01

I also have this cup, mostly used for fruit tea but on occasions it holds mulled wine. Shock horror and clutched pearls 😂 Lol

Thedom · 02/11/2025 07:07

Of course they want the speculation about wine, Meghan is rarely without a glass of it now on her Insta posts. Why call backgrid for pap shots and not use it as an opportunity to mention their name and alcohol in the same sentence !

bigboykitty · 02/11/2025 07:07

Get yourself sobered up @AtIusvue and get some help. This thread is pathetic.
