So if the Crown estate which manages the rents offers them all across the board lower than would normally happen for a prime location like that because the added security measures means less privacy - does that apply to everyone?

When the St James' apartments came up there was a bit of talk about the 20k a month being lower than the local average.

However, there's the security, you have to have any guests vetted before they can visit, they have no garden space, and on days of events it must be a sodding nightmare getting in and out.

It would be interesting to see the figures across the board.
