... I would change my name to Sarah York, by deedpoll. There's absolutely nothing stopping her!

I don't know if Windsor or Mountbatten-Windsor are "protected" names in some way, but York sure isn't.

This. Absolutely 💯.
Plus it wasn't that long ago that they were lobbying KC and PW to get their dad back in the fold.
Plus, didn't Beatrice set up the Emily Maitlis interview?

Yes she did. She pushed for it. Despite his head of PR resigning over it and telling him not to do it.

They must think their Dad can walk on water. It was the interview of the century as far as Royals!

Yes and I'm sure she I read she was either in the room or watching the monitor while her dad was being questioned about having sex with an underage, trafficked woman. I mean, why would you put yourself through that?!

PoppysAunt · 18/10/2025 16:12

Who is just like Zara?
Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne. She hasn't married royalty. She doesn't have a title because her parents chose for her not to have one.

Indeed, and she would never have been titled princess regardless of her parents’ wishes, because she isn’t one.

She was indeed. It's baffling, unless her sense of entitlement equals her dad's, and she thinks his behaviour is not only fine, but perfectly acceptable for someone with an official role?

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 18/10/2025 16:16

Louise. Both grandchildren of the then monarch. Neither have princess titles.

Louise is a princess, Zara is not.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 18/10/2025 16:22

Saveusename · 18/10/2025 16:18

No, Louise, Beatrice and Eugenie have exactly the same royal standing. Princesses of the blood, granddaughters of the monarch through the male line.

Zara is not a princess, being a granddaughter through the female line. She cannot style herself ‘Princess Zara’ because she is not a princess. Louise is a princess and can style herself ‘Princess Louise’ if she so wishes.

Edited

Didn't the Queen want to give Peter & Zara titles as her first born grandchildren and Princess Anne refused?

Whichever, silly me and my modern thinking. Genuinely forget what a man's world monarchy's been until recently.

I honestly think both daughters think he has done no wrong. He has probably told them he never slept with VG. But even if he didn't (he did!) the company he and their Mum have kept over decades have been of the worst kind. And what they have done as far as grifting, taking money from anyone who even looked at them, the disgusting excesses, the not paying the little peoples bills... surely they might not like their parents even if they still love them.

I wonder what the Son in Laws think of all of this. Surely one of them has a backbone and a moral compass?

ThePeachHiker · 18/10/2025 16:25

As someone from York, I’m glad to see the back of the pair of them. They very rarely came here and when they did, they made abundantly clear they did not want to be here and were clearly repulsed by having to be near the peasants. Deeply unpleasant people so can quite frankly piss off.

Or she believed her dad when he said he didn’t do it, as I suspect most of us would want to do.

From what I gather they didn't like going anywhere except Epstein island. I was reading earlier that the Queen sent Andrew to Lockerbie after the plane crash and he stated on camera that his sympathy was for the Americans rather than the Scots because they'd lost more people. Like wtf!

Supposedly the late Queen offered to make Mark Phillips an earl so that Anne's children would have noble titles, but Anne and Mark refused.

jumpingthehighjump · 18/10/2025 16:29

I wonder what Inverness think now. He has 'given up' (not had removed) Earl of Inverness.
Given what dodgy accounts he has set up in the name of Andrew Inverness for companies he puts money through.. I wonder what he will use now. Andrew Windsor? Or Andrew Saxe Coburg Gotha which is indeed the royal name, Windsor was just an adopted name.

The PR head must have been tearing his hair out, knowing that Emily Maitlis is sharp as a tack and Prince Andrew notably dim, lacking in self knowledge, and arrogant. It was always going to be a car crash.

Yes, but not princess. That would never have been on the table. The Queen wanted to make Anne’s husband a Duke or an Earl so their children could style themselves as sons and daughters of a Duke or Earl - Lady Zara.

Which is how Edward chose to style his kids, despite them actually being a prince and princess.

I agree with you. Where did B&E think that the huge sums of money came from? They must have had an idea what they were up to, and it's been abundantly clear for some time about A's behaviour. Even during the EM interview when B was in the wings, he was quite happy to admit to certain things.

Yes, but he admitted friendships with Epstein and relations with women, although he says they were consensual and he was unaware of trafficking.

I'm not hunting them, nor am I blaming them for what their parents have done.
However. They are grown women and have excused and colluded with much of the parental behaviour.

I had some residual affection for the image of SF as she was in my teen years. God knows why. Anyway, I hope never to hear of her again. A ruined person.

Thanks. I feel stupid because believe it or not I did know that 🤦. I think COVID might be eating what's left of my brains.

Apparently they called Epsine "Uncle Jeffrey". Now if someone was writing that about me and it wasn't true then I'd be off the mark Usain Bolt fast to deny it.

He was horrendous on that visit. He said it was inevitable that a plane was going to fall from the sky at some point statistically speaking (paraphrasing as I don't remember the exact words).

Was as if he had never had any experience or guidance in public speaking whatsoever.

Because at the time you believe your dad when he tells you it's not true? Because you want him to go on TV and show everyone that it isn't true? Because you desperately want to believe it isn't true?

Lots of children are in denial about the awful things their parents have done. It can be very hard to accept that the dad you know and love is capable of, and has done, terrible things.
