Why is Meghan hated?

I have very strong views about the Royals especially Camilla, however I am genuinely interested and want to find out more as to why Meghan Markle seems to be so hated. I'm asking in case there is something I have missed. I do read up as much as I can and watch shows from 'both sides' of the argument, but there is nothing that I have seen so far that warrants the level of sheer hatred geared towards her - I don't mean on here necessarily, but on social media in general. She cannot do ANYTHING without a swarm of people descending on her like vampires to tear her apart.

She isn't an adulteress, she's not a paedophile or sex offender, she isn't lazy, she seems to genuinely care about people in need.....and from what has been shown, she genuinely loves Harry and is just trying to make a life with him. He left the UK to start a life away from a nest of some awful people, his mother died when he was 12, his uncle is a sex offender, there is racism and a rigid set of rules within that family where he won't be king anyway so what is wrong with him leaving?

I'm not starting this to start an argument I am genuninely interested in why she is so rabidly disliked and why? Maybe I will start to feel differently if there is more of a reason but at the moment I cannot see one?

Agreed. I definitely believe, always have, that Meghan was used to deflect away from some of the other abhorrent behaviour.

British society find someone like the Princess of Wales, Kate, acceptable. Kate is demure, she is submissive, she follows the royal family line. She doesn't state her own opinions.

Meghan is self confident. Meghan sees herself as equal to Harry and to William. Sje is not submissive to them.

Mohammed al Fayed was a very controversial man even then, involved in bribing MPs and being investigated for his business dealings.

The holiday was a media sensation, and definitely very controversial. It also coincided with Camilla’s 50th birthday celebrations, which may also have factored into Diana’s decision-making too. The huge press coverage of her in swimsuits on the beach and diving into the Mediterranean was another golden opportunity to stick fingers up at her ex husband and his girlfriend. Piers Morgan spoke about how al Fayed and Diana rang him directly to brief him where the photographers should be. Always an interesting and complex person…but she made a tragic mistake thinking al Fayed would be looking out for her best interests.

I read that book and don’t remember this at all.

Because she had only just got together with him. Was deliberately courting the press and wanting to be photographed with him to create maximum coverage. He had been engaged to someone else and as far as I remember that relationship had either been broken off abruptly or he had just started another relationship with Diana because he was under pressure from his father . His father desperately wanted Dodi to marry Diana and he was very much under his father’s thumb. Dodi was essentially a playboy and not in Diana’s league . She had taken her sons on holiday with him shortly beforehand which must have been very embarrassing for her sons.

We know a lot more now about Fayed’s motives and character, all of it deeply unsavoury.
