Why is Meghan hated?

I have very strong views about the Royals especially Camilla, however I am genuinely interested and want to find out more as to why Meghan Markle seems to be so hated. I'm asking in case there is something I have missed. I do read up as much as I can and watch shows from 'both sides' of the argument, but there is nothing that I have seen so far that warrants the level of sheer hatred geared towards her - I don't mean on here necessarily, but on social media in general. She cannot do ANYTHING without a swarm of people descending on her like vampires to tear her apart.

She isn't an adulteress, she's not a paedophile or sex offender, she isn't lazy, she seems to genuinely care about people in need.....and from what has been shown, she genuinely loves Harry and is just trying to make a life with him. He left the UK to start a life away from a nest of some awful people, his mother died when he was 12, his uncle is a sex offender, there is racism and a rigid set of rules within that family where he won't be king anyway so what is wrong with him leaving?

I'm not starting this to start an argument I am genuninely interested in why she is so rabidly disliked and why? Maybe I will start to feel differently if there is more of a reason but at the moment I cannot see one?

I detest her. She is a liar. She is a fantasist. She tells easily refutable lies for no discernible purpose. I think she is also a grifter on the make. I think how she lobbied around 'racist' allegations against members of the royal family was simply despicable.

I truly don't give a toss that she is mixed race. So am I. So are my children. I think saying people who dislike her are racist is lazy. I was thrilled to bits when she first joined the RF. But I judge her by her actions. Including the racism she herself demonstrated against Mindy Kaling. And the reports of bullying that are now so many that they can't all be dismissed.

She was very popular at the start of her relationship with Harry, there was a lot of positive press and interest in her. It’s changed since she and Harry dramatically ‘left’ the RF so I don’t buy that it’s because she was divorced or due to race that she’s disliked now. Meghan and Harry just come across as self promoting whiners and have done since the Oprah interview which is why they’ve lost popularity, IMO. They should have just quietly disappeared to the USA without the books and interviews.

So true about bland, zero opinionated women in the media. Years ago Vanna White was one of the most popular women in America, she was a hostess on Wheel of Fortune and never spoke a word. Basically her fans projected a personality on a completely blank canvas and fell in love with the woman they’d invented.

I really liked her at the beginning , my kids and I watched them get married and thought they were going to be great … then the lies and self pitying started

But since they have got together they have bought out the worst in each other the dramas the manufactured conflict with the UK using overseas headlines the snark from him (harry) towards John Travolta is telling he genuinely thinks he is above everyone and will trample over everyone to get sympathy validation "im Diana's son dont you know!" Like he has nothing else about him except for being the son of a dead woman

He feels icky to watch and it does feel like she fuels it wearing his mothers perfume ewww having a box with a lock of hair in it private time at her grave etc all feels mucky like you need a wash

She comes across as a very toxic person. To me it said a lot when she had only one family member at her wedding.

My MIL and I wear the same perfume. Didn’t realise that the Perfume Police should be out there, dictating who is “allowed” to wear certain scents.

I despise the woman because she has done nothing for her entire life but hang around Charles. Her manipuations of Diana (and Charles) in the early days are well documented. She shouldn't be where she is and if that means the two of them f ing off into exile so be it. She's just been rewarded for the worst behaviour.

She is very marmite but I think the ‘hate’ has dwindled to boredom or indifference now.

She's a black woman who had the audacity to speak her mind. It's pretty much that simple.

I don't follow the royal gossip news stories etc. The only time I ever see anything is when there is an active post on Mumsnet. But I am genuinely horrified at the amount of unhinged stuff that people post on here. Some users appear to need help, they are completely obsessed. They examine every photo and post the woman puts out like they are forensic detectives and they read sooo much into the simplest things. It's completely insane!

For me, I just find her so irritating, but can’t say I hate her, I also find Taylor Swift just as irritating, however I do think Meghan is absolutely vilified in the press, I saw a headline yesterday accusing her of mocking Diana because she was in a limo in Paris, ridiculous! So as much as she annoys me I also have some sympathy for her.

I think Camilla looks like a right good laugh.

I dislike her because:

She entered an institution pretending she didn’t know the rules and the regulations that came with that institution.

She told lies.

She disrespected the Queen.

She seems to me insincere and fake.

I think she could have supported the Royal Family in becoming more modern if she hadn’t bulldozed her way in and then cried and whined when told no.

Hardly. There are posters on this forum who can talk about the most banal thing for 1000s and 1000s of posts. They just sit there repeating the same old rubbish, pretending that they’re making some valid points where all they’re actually doing is bitching about somebody they don’t know and never will know.

She's quite entitled, out of touch, too rich and annoying - but they all are. Can't imagine any of them being remotely pleasant...

I watched a couple of seasons of Suits and thought she was pretty good in it. Other than that I don’t have much of an opinion on her! I have noticed posters saying she’s horrible or a narcissist. Even if that’s true, unless it affects you personally, I’m not sure why you would get your knickers in a twist about it. In the end, none of us know any of these people in the public eye (well, most of us don’t anyway) and we see nothing but a snapshot of the real person. Combine that with gossip and rumours and the odd true fact and some people get a bit carried away.

Because the media made it that way, basically.

She is dead and that is one of his memories of her its going to invoke feelings especially as its one of his few memories of her he has admitted he doesn't remember a lot
