Why is Meghan hated?

I have very strong views about the Royals especially Camilla, however I am genuinely interested and want to find out more as to why Meghan Markle seems to be so hated. I'm asking in case there is something I have missed. I do read up as much as I can and watch shows from 'both sides' of the argument, but there is nothing that I have seen so far that warrants the level of sheer hatred geared towards her - I don't mean on here necessarily, but on social media in general. She cannot do ANYTHING without a swarm of people descending on her like vampires to tear her apart.

She isn't an adulteress, she's not a paedophile or sex offender, she isn't lazy, she seems to genuinely care about people in need.....and from what has been shown, she genuinely loves Harry and is just trying to make a life with him. He left the UK to start a life away from a nest of some awful people, his mother died when he was 12, his uncle is a sex offender, there is racism and a rigid set of rules within that family where he won't be king anyway so what is wrong with him leaving?

I'm not starting this to start an argument I am genuninely interested in why she is so rabidly disliked and why? Maybe I will start to feel differently if there is more of a reason but at the moment I cannot see one?

i thought you meant actions towards H and M ? Apart from racism accusations ( later retracted by H) I don’t recall H and M raising those serious issues ? My recollection of the OW interview , Spare and the reality show was a complete whingefest.

No not necessarily all towards H and M, just in general. Like PP totally a car and a woman having her arm broken due to his bad driving. She could have been killed but it's ok, PP was driving at the age of 98. 😵

So why haven’t H and M raised these issues ? Why not condemn the odious Andrew ? Why concentrate on petty nonsense like lipgloss ?

For my part, the dislike I feel for H&M is equal. I don't hate them. But, as a couple, I feel they are dishonest, brash, money-obsessed, status obsessed, superficial (look at their wedding guest list), and very welcome to stay in the US forever. Harry and Charles can and probably should mend their relationship privately.

I do agree with you, OP, that Meghan seems to bear the brunt of the criticism which isn't fair. He's just as much of a player.

Rock said some examples she has given about racism within the royal family aren't actually racist.

Rock went on to say that the royals asking about Archie's skin color isn't racist because Black people ask the same questions.

Why does the OP keep saying the RF is racist? What evidence is available to show this? For me, the unfounded racism allegation is the main reason I dislike Meghan. It was a terrible smear and she knew if would cause damage to the RF’s reputation all around the world. She then wouldn’t give details, Harry didn’t contradict her and years later Harry gaslighted us all by saying he didn’t think the RF was racist.

You don't pay 12 million to shut someone up if you're innocent. You don't lose all your royal titles if you're innocent. He's also just been named in the Epstein files.

When Meghan had her first meeting with the family, one of them wore a brooch which was a controversial item apparently. I find it hard to believe she couldn't have realised what she was doing.

And how many times did Prince Philip insult other races? Also well documented, but it was laughed off because he was a 'silly old man'. If I walked up to another race and said they had slitty eyes, I'd be sued.

PH has a long litany of racist and abusive behaviour that was well publicised and some of which he has not yet apologised for - MM would have known what a racist he was but she was quite comfortable pursuing a relationship with the 24 year old who thought it perfectly fine to racially abuse his military colleague (and filmed it himself!) calling him a p@ki and r@ghead. Before that he would verbally abuse the landlord of his local pub loudly calling him a ‘fuckin fr@g’ - he talked about his gf Chelsea being from Africa but reassured his mates ‘don’t worry she’s not black on anything’

Then he collected an award from The Kennedy Foundation for challenging racism in the RF.

Harry dressed up as a Nazi and called his colleagues P and R**d respectively. He also made sure his friends knew his African born girlfriend was white. Why are you letting him

Well she couldn’t say what really bothered her , namely that W and C are going to be Monarchs and H and M will always be junior to them. That she couldn’t monetise her title, that protocol dictated when her DC would get the Prince / Princess titles . So rather than admit to being a grasping person she threw out the racism accusations.

?? I've listened various examples above, which if you could be bothered to read them you would see. Perhaps I should have done that first fair enough. But sure it gives you a good chance to be nasty and start a little gang.

I think people who don’t know her and who hate her are unhinged.

I probably fall into the mildly disappointed camp.I’m not a big royal watcher but I was excited to have a woman of colour who was independently successful join the royal family. I thought Harry was incredibly fortunate as she is gorgeous and articulate and seemed intelligent. She has amazing, if conservative style.

I think I’m like a lot of people who look askance at their public swipes at a family that can’t really argue back most of the time and at the couple’s victim complex. I’m afraid I found her claims of total ignorance as to the royal family and basic etiquette and protocol unbelievable as she is bright enough and perfectly capable of negotiating the internet, even if I accepted that at no point she looked anything up via Google, surely her husband had the greater responsibility to inform her and surely she would have asked.

So I think he’s as thick as a plank and spoiled, which is no different to what I thought previously and she is quite disengenuous and someone I’d be cautious of.

It’s a shame and the media were awful with her and she has my full sympathy with that. I do feel a bit sorry for her.

Going out on a limb here but I do find it a little neat how quickly they fell in love too. I'm cynical about love anyway but it was all very fast.

I think Camilla is probably a very good egg though and that’s not a popular opinion.

We are going round in circles . You raised some unpleasant stuff about the RF but my question is - given the worldwide profile H and M have why didn’t they use Spare , OW etc to highlight the bad behaviour ? Why not say how upset M was by Princess Michael wearing that brooch . Why focus on nonsense and make stuff up ?

I'm not focussing on nonsense or making anything up. I wanted to have a discussion. If you don't want to participate or find it unhelpful, just butt out. Don't use it as an excuse to lord it over or bully another forum member because they think differently than you do.

You come up with some suggestions - so why don't YOU put them to the thread instead of criticising me?
