Why is Meghan hated?

I have very strong views about the Royals especially Camilla, however I am genuinely interested and want to find out more as to why Meghan Markle seems to be so hated. I'm asking in case there is something I have missed. I do read up as much as I can and watch shows from 'both sides' of the argument, but there is nothing that I have seen so far that warrants the level of sheer hatred geared towards her - I don't mean on here necessarily, but on social media in general. She cannot do ANYTHING without a swarm of people descending on her like vampires to tear her apart.

She isn't an adulteress, she's not a paedophile or sex offender, she isn't lazy, she seems to genuinely care about people in need.....and from what has been shown, she genuinely loves Harry and is just trying to make a life with him. He left the UK to start a life away from a nest of some awful people, his mother died when he was 12, his uncle is a sex offender, there is racism and a rigid set of rules within that family where he won't be king anyway so what is wrong with him leaving?

I'm not starting this to start an argument I am genuninely interested in why she is so rabidly disliked and why? Maybe I will start to feel differently if there is more of a reason but at the moment I cannot see one?

Meghan always makes snide comments, the pantyhose thing was a put down, the constant ‘I have a voice now’ bollocks
as for Andrew - I don’t see many people, if any, supporting Andrew or Fergie for that matter, there’s more traffic about M&H because they’re always doing some ridiculous thing or other - at least Andrew and Fergs keep their horrible selves hidden away and quiet most of the time

But that makes no sense. Catherine will always be number 1 as she is going to be Queen. It wouldn’t matter how popular Harry and Meghan were, or even how unpopular William and Catherine might be (although clearly they aren’t unpopular at all!), they were never going to be playing second fiddle to the Sussexes. People will always want to see the Wales family as they will be the monarch.

the fact would always be that the top gigs go to William and Catherine plus their children eventually. Harry and Meghan should have fallen into Princess Anne’s (and prior to that Princess Margaret’s role) role as a solid, duty bound family who quietly and diligently perform their duties. Yes they might get some publicity for certain causes but their focus shouldn’t have been on that, it should all have been about support for the monarch. It isn’t about popularity or exposure.

I don't think she really is hated.

I think negative stories always sell better than positive ones - we should collectively reflect on the human psyche on that one. So media outlets wanting to make money will look for the negative angle and spin all situations to make them more sensational to sell more.

On here, for the most part the discussions are more about the fun of the debate than strong opinion. Only a very few people have very strong opinions, but their voices and expressions are usually the loudest and the most extreme so you remember them, rather than the average poster who's opinion is generally rational.

That said, she and Harry are fascinating. Like children suddenly trying to figure out what they want to be when they grow up, those precocious toddlers who stand up at family gatherings to give the grown up's their very decided opinions. Most of which seem to have about 3 seconds thought behind them, before moving on to the next shiny thing.

Yes but William HAS to keep his mouth shut. But again why the defence? Why not just take Harry at his word?

I don’t think her fans realise that without the ‘haters’ Meghan would pretty much disappear into oblivion.

Look at her second season on Netflix, the haters couldn’t be bothered to watch it but her fans are not big enough in numbers to even get it to the lowly viewership her first season got (thanks to the hater viewership). Her fans should actually be grateful to the haters 😁

I’m pretty indifferent to her now, liked her at the beginning, went off her after Oprah, indifferent to her now, watched a couple of episodes of season 1, was bored and gave up, haven’t gone back to any of it since. Can’t be bothered with the fashion show trip or the podcasts etc, just can’t be arsed with her or Harry generally (I don’t watch RF stuff either other than weddings and funerals). Meghan’s problem isn’t ‘haters’, it’s haters losing interest.

@YourBrickTiger Have you never started out liking someone, thinking they were fun, a good person, being impressed by them? And then…. little by little getting niggly feelings that something wasn’t quite right ? Until you end up realising that they aren’t a very nice person at all and in fact they’re totally false.

I think that is a lot of us. No, I don’t hate Meghan. That’s ridiculously strong. But I think she has a monstrously high opinion of herself, was unnecessarily vile to the rf, insulted the UK (the wedding was a spectacle for the masses) and tells multiple lies.

But above all she and Harry are entertainment value . They really think they’re something so when they make themselves look fools it’s highly amusing in a can’t look away from the cringe type of way.

Yes of course. I met Meghan on a walkabout when she was in NI. It was very brief but people had queued most of the morning to see her. I didn't, I just snuck in during my lunch break and got to shake her hand. She seemed so nice and humbled by the amount of attention. People loved her then as they did Harry. It's just really sad how it has all turned out.

As much as neither are my cup of tea I’d choose Meghan over Harry any day. That man I just cannot stand to look at or hear. His beady little eyes scowling furiously, his thin tight lips pursed in permanent indignation, he’s just foul. I honestly don’t know how Meghan can stand being in the same room as him (for that she has my condolences, that’s a tough price to pay).

I didn't and I resent you saying that. Don't put words in my mouth thanks. It is disgusting but if you read what I wrote, you would see that I said that it is nowhere near what Meghan has gone through which is true. There are some people who just WANT to pick pick pick.

Diana had this when she was barely an adult yes they arnt the screaming baying mob yet but look at her reactions head so far down turning her face away there was no security there was one occasion that I cant find where they surrounded her car and she couldn't drive off a week before her wedding she was watching a polo match they were filming her so she left they followed her into the horses lane she had security at that point and they were holding them back they told them to get out of the shot they had been told before to keep back they ignored them and kept pushing relentlessly

What has Meghan done recently except do a lifestyle cooking show on Netflix and attend a fashion week in Paris

There are various famous people I dont like...guess what I manage to not know abiut what they do or dont do nor comment upon them cos why? What's the point? Wasting time and energy that is better spent on doing things I love and enjoy surely then writing negative comments about someone million miles away who doesn't impact my life. No-one on here can imagine what it feels like to be pursued and all alone like that they had no security no back up no support meghan was given security way earlier than these two the royal family asked them to back off from meghan very early on something that had not happened before all the papers said it was unprecedented because it was ^^

There are some irritating famous people around, and if they come on the telly I think oh god no and I switch channels. And I don't read about them , I gloss over their existence

All these people who despise and loathe Meghan just keep her profile very high. She irritates the hell out of them but they can't stop reading about her, writing about her, analyzing every smile, every hairstyle, every outfit, every word, the way she walks, the way she turns round, the lot. Then spending hours and hours typing about it.
It is truly odd and I can't get my head round it.

-insults to people previously in positions of authority (matron)
-breach of privacy of someone over whom he had authority ('older woman' with whom he lost virginity was a stable girl - who was actually in charge here?)
-breach of privacy of family member - who talks about family members' genitals?

Frankly, I wouldn't use Harry's book as proof of anything unless there was other independent evidence as well

I don't hate Meghan at all. She is the gift that keeps on giving. When someone comes across as arrogant and self important people are going to enjoy watching them make a fool of themselves. When they prove themselves to be a stranger to the truth and a bully then people will take great delight in their downfall. That woman has no integrity and i very much dislike her but don't hate her.

MM’s show is absolute shite! They were paid millions to do good work and they did absolute crap, with subscribers money, we pay for decent programmes not idiots using it as a glorifying pedestal for themselves! Imagine how many decent programmes could have been made with that money! I really hope they got very little of the money for their godawful efforts!
