Why is Meghan hated?

I have very strong views about the Royals especially Camilla, however I am genuinely interested and want to find out more as to why Meghan Markle seems to be so hated. I'm asking in case there is something I have missed. I do read up as much as I can and watch shows from 'both sides' of the argument, but there is nothing that I have seen so far that warrants the level of sheer hatred geared towards her - I don't mean on here necessarily, but on social media in general. She cannot do ANYTHING without a swarm of people descending on her like vampires to tear her apart.

She isn't an adulteress, she's not a paedophile or sex offender, she isn't lazy, she seems to genuinely care about people in need.....and from what has been shown, she genuinely loves Harry and is just trying to make a life with him. He left the UK to start a life away from a nest of some awful people, his mother died when he was 12, his uncle is a sex offender, there is racism and a rigid set of rules within that family where he won't be king anyway so what is wrong with him leaving?

I'm not starting this to start an argument I am genuninely interested in why she is so rabidly disliked and why? Maybe I will start to feel differently if there is more of a reason but at the moment I cannot see one?

She was welcomed with open arms at the beginning. Millions watched the wedding and wished them well . It was only when she revealed her true character ( mean , lying , bullying) that things changed .
As far as i remember the straight out of Compton was actually an American headline .
People are cynical about the video in Paris because M is not known to take videos from her car and posting them.
Whatever her reasons , she is being talked about but not in a positive way.

Meghan needs the haters and the hate watchers. Without them she doesn’t have enough fans to keep her profile afloat.

It is a tricky one. Without the bad press there would be no press as she doesn’t do anything of interest to the UK population. But they want publicity and exposure so I can see it is a double edged sword from their POV.

She is held to too high a standard. Unfortunately for Meghan, Kate is universally liked and has years of being a successful Royal, so Meghan is expected to compete or exceed Kate’s abilities. The bar was always set too unfairly high for Meghan

But if Meghan were half the feminist she proclaims herself to be, she'd recognise how petty and demeaning it is to both of them to play into the media's "build em up and knock em down", pit the women against each other approach.

She's not some kid, she was in her mid thirties when she started dating Harry. A self-proclaimed feminist who works in the public eye/media should be well aware of that protocol, rise above it, even if she doesn't like the individual concerned.

What do we get instead? She wouldn't share lip gloss! She made me cry! My press coverage was worse than hers! She played right into sexist tropes.

I've worked with women I can't bloody stand, who I've nonetheless vigorously defended on points of fairness of treatment. It really isn't hard to be principled.

Katherine had ten years of relentless pursuit they screamed whore at her they reduced her to tears on many many occasions diana camilla all had the same meghan didn't because as soon as they started harry was demanding they back off getting William to put out a statement supporting him meghan was allowed at Balmoral before engagement or marriage Katherine etc never was she was treated better than the others (hopefully because the RF learned their lesson about exclusion) i think that gave harry the idea tgat they somehow were better than everyone else granny indulged him....to a point and at that point the shit hit the fan

Also - what evidence do you have for her being mean, bullying etc? Where did you hear about this? What source? It may well be true but surely you have to admit that the same press that published frankly bizarre articles linking her liking avocado to being complicit in human rights abuses probably isn’t the most unbiased when it comes to reporting literally anything about her?

That’s the other aspect here - Harry and Meghan weren’t playing the press game like the other royals do - of course the press was going to become hostile. I think they probably started the negative press to encourage them to stay in line but it became so popular it’s mutated into quite the hate campaign. And then people wonder why Harry and Meghan are anxious about their security when coming to the UK. If you look at what is written in the national press about her (Jeremy Clarkson fantasising about her being made to walk naked through the streets) imagine what abuse they get in private. Two people have already been convicted for threatening Harry (calling him a race traitor but there’s definitely no racial element to the criticism she gets…). Harry’s stalker was able to get within feet of him on his last visit to the UK.

It’s the same bloody paper - if it’s nothing to do with the British press then why was it raised at the UK society of editors? Honestly the mental gymnastics some people do to pretend that the UK tabloids don’t have a racism problem is embarrassing. But no, Meghan has never faced any racism from the UK press.

There are lots of people who are making a lot of money out of hating on Meghan. It is honestly a multi-million industry.

I admire both of them for carrying on. If she wants to go to Paris Fashion week, she can, but my god the hate that just come out just about that is truly awful. Rinse and repeat over years with literally anything either of them do

The media just makes up any old crap about the couple, and people buy into it. I have also seen it on mumsnet time and time again, a poster might say I wonder if Meghan blah blah (some ridiculous theory that doesn't hold up). Within 20 posts it's quoted as fact and certain posters are like piranhas in a pool circling round adding new insults to outdo each other

Honestly some people are totally and utterly obsessed with her. They must wake up every morning and Google the word meghan and then come on here and bang on about something innocuous to get worked up into a frenzy about. Ditto other social media

And all the while journos are out there coming up with new headlines about her and him that just don't hold up but it creates a frenzy that certain people just buy into

Trying to excuse that awful headline is ridiculous. It was in the British version of the daily mail! Whether it was written by an American journalist or not is completely irrelevant. Should we also be excusing Boris Johnson's sister for talking about the exotic blood coming into the royal family? Or the Danny Baker photo? Or other British journalists who were quite obviously trying their best to hide their racism

Well that's it in a nutshell. Kate is going to be able to do and say what she likes and it will be catered to due to her position. Much like man child Charles. Anyone in the top spot can do whatever they like, but the ones underneath, the spares will take the fall. I know Andrew deserves everything he has got, but I also think he's taking a huge part of the flack to cover up for Charles' bad behaviour over the years. Put all the shine on Andrew and now Fergie so that Number 1 looks like a saint. Kate was never ever going to feel comfortable being in second place to someone like Meghan so I'm sure there is more behind all this hatred than just the public. I would bet somewhere behind the scenes Kate has had a moan about how threatened she feels by Meghan and it contributed to the way things have turned out.

No because I'm old enough to remember Camilla's actions in the 80's and have read enough about her behaviour and seen enough in documentaries made to form an opinion. When Diana died people were hysterical, quite rightly so, knowing that as I've said before, Camilla manipulated that young woman into a friendship, to stay close to Charles amongst other awful things she did. Her and Meghan are not the same. Meghan has never wrecked another woman's life to get what she wanted. She's accused of tearing a family apart, but no one makes any reference to how William and Harry must feel watching that woman get everything that should have been their mother's, if their father had had a spine. Harry has EVERY right to feel the way he does.

These people will be on their death bed still writing nasty comments they can't stop and won't. When is the last time Meghan said anything about the RF, slagging them off? Definitely nothing in the past year as far as I am aware yet everything She does gets ripped apart.

People thinking they should decide what she does, how she does, what she says.

Recently its been how can she go to that show given the images of the children thwy published etc. Yet the same people then gush about the rf who have been protecting Andrew...someone who has been involved with a sex trafficker no less...the hypcrocrisy of these people and yet they get offended cos Megahn is a hypocrite...such is their 'hate' for her they cant see their own hypocrisy

Of course Kate can't say and do what she likes! She is very careful to behave appropriately. This is such a naive comment. I am staggered that Harry and Meghan have been able to do and say what they have. Publicly slagging his family off, writing a book full of salacious titbits and awful breaches of taste , lacking truthfulness and little more than tabloid fodder. I just cannot think of anyone else in public life who would be able to do and say what they have without repercussions. That's leaving aside the dodgy charities, the Netflix 'documentary', the fake Royal tours. Backgrid on speed dial etc etc. It's utterly repellent.

As I've said many times, Harry wrote a book telling the truth, what is wrong with that? What is wrong with exposing the RF's behaviour? Is it so bad to think of them as flawed humans and not saints?? God forbid a young man who lost his mother when he was 12 should be a bit mixed up!? Covering up really bad behaviour is why the world is in a state like it is! William HIT him, his step mother is a cow, there are racists, his father wasn't always a good father....what's wrong with telling the truth? Are people so precious about that family they can't see any wrong doing in them?

And can we remember that William is only 2 years older and also lost his mother.
