Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

Maybe this could be the official thread meme?

Fair enough. There is a difference between posting images of your children online, and allowing your children access to the online world. Obviously, H&M have spoken out against both. My earlier Google only showed me the second. Thanks for the link.

Outkick is owned by Fox aka Murdoch. So I’d say that this article is written for the conservative maga crowd. Those who generally don’t like ‘elites’ (unless they come in the form of tech billionaires like Musk).

Edited

I agree with you.

But the problem for M is that her rebrand as "tradwife" is to target an audience that skews conservative and listens to this type of media.

Even worse, this also taps into the resentment of passionate sports fans from all parts of the political spectrum who feel that they have been priced out of tickets by celebrities and elites who treat marquee events (National Hockey League's Stanley Cup or the American Football Superbowl or the National Basketball League Final) as just another event to see and be seen.

That's brilliant! Harry's pompous lecture about it, interspersed with.... images of their children they have posted on social media 😂

And ots a phone not social media access? My nephew is 6 and now had iPad assigned to him to use in school and? This is the world they come into one thay is technologically advanced. Its not the tools itself to blame but how its used. Technology isnt a bad thing, neither os them having a phone. It's.how they use it, what its used for that matters.

I'm wondering if this early use of technology takes away the basics of the 3 Rs.

Surely Jennifer Garner's children are nearly grown now?

Not sure but she’s been doing the pretend cooking show for several years now - it looks like it started as a fun experiment but its popularity means she got a couple of brand endorsements including kitchen aid.

But she also works consistently as an actress, plus has a part of a baby foods business.

She seems to work nonstop and across various fields. It shows that at her level of fame and celebrity you still need to graft away.

BemusedAmerican · 30/10/2025 00:41

The Sidley twins showed footage on their live tonight from an outraged Dodger fan who said they would have won had H & M not jinxed the team by showing up at the game. Stephanie Sidley shared her theory that H & M were deliberately given tickets in the hopes that they would jinx the Dodgers as part of a betting scheme. I laughed and laughed.

Firealarm1414 · 30/10/2025 00:55

They were defintely booed very loudly at the Dodgers game. I dont understand why they never let their kids go to events like this. Instead they get empty pumpkin patches and theme parks and watching their parents jet off for yet another paid for award or event without them. The wales' kids seem to be having much more of a normal upbringing despite being more in the spotlight. Its sad.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Booed at Dodger Stadium During World Series

Prince Harry seemed defeated Tuesday night ... as he and his wife, Meghan Markle, were booed as their mugs popped up on the jumbotron during game 4 of the World Series.

I’m responding to @My2cents1975 I’ve lost her response to my podt and I don’t want to scroll back in case I lose mine in the scrolling.

This is long and please scroll on by if you aren’t interested. My apologies. I did try to edit but I think I may have edited out much of my ‘argument.’ 😂

I really haven’t followed the politics surrounding sport @My2cents1975 but from what I’ve observed I’d agree with your last paragraph.

I don’t see Meghan as pushing Trad lifestyle. The trad wife stuff comes out of the White Christian Nationalist movement and I don’t think Meghan is ever going to please them in big numbers. Meghan doesn’t hide the fact that she works outside the home, and doesn’t pretend that home life fulfills her completely.

I’ve watched some of her shows and although I’m too old and tired to do what she does, I could buy her jam and honey (if only she shipped here) and spread it on some locally sourced artisan sourdough with supermarket bought butter. Yum yum. That’s what she’s pushing. Buy a bit of this and that and this other thing; and create something pretty and tasty. Until I can buy and try her jam, I’ll buy the local jam sold at the markets.

Meghan’s more about bringing a bit of luxury to everyday life, I think. I know her everyday life is far different from mine, but she hit the nail on the head when she talked about ‘elevating’ stuff. As funny as that word became on each repetition, she actually did manage it imo. The show is not about adopting the lifestyle all the time, but about doing bits of it. I find that the world is pretty bleak politically speaking at the moment - so I’m gravitating to shows and books that are light and amusing and often an alternative perspective for me.

I’d say she’s trying to be more like Martha Stewart, than a trad wife. But don’t think shes trying to be a copy of Martha either. She’s carving out her own niche. Meghan’s also able to appeal to a market that’s not been paid much attention to that I can see - the ever growing Black American middle class and upper middle class women that want to see their lives, or something like it, reflected back at them on tv.

I’m all over the place with this. I only started taking an interest in American politics since my husband became ill. He’s fascinated by American Politics so it gives us something to discuss other than his illness so he stays active and he remains interested in life.

There doesn’t seem to be any audio of the booing? And if you scroll down a little bit you can read all about the Wales’ being at loggerheads about George’s schooling! Oh, and Simone Biles’ boob job. It’s honestly a complete rag. Why on earth would anyone give it a moment’s credibility?

FOX/Murdoch also owns TMZ.

This is what happens when our ‘news’ all comes from one media corporation. For thus, we can blame our governments for allowing these media ownership laws. And the lack of media literacy that means people don’t check out who is pushing what, and why?

stillavid · 30/10/2025 05:07

I thought the booing was made up but there is an article in the times about it so I am assuming it did actually happen. If it did - maybe that is why they don't take the children to such events as they are unsure of the public reaction?

Thedom · 30/10/2025 06:18

It’s amusing how the British media get blamed for all their woes, 95% of the US media (and not only Murdoch), and US SM, are brutal about them, unless they are paying for their own homespun PR, everyone sees through them.

This is what Harry is reduced to, desperate for any sort of recognition, speaking uninformed rubbish on some random comedians podcast.

I hope your husband gets well soon, there is certainly plenty to be distracted by in US politics.

I agree that sometimes it's nice to have a little bit of luxury in life. I Just don't see As Ever products as luxury. They all seem pretty basic and somewhat over priced. I can buy less runny jam or a shortbread packet mix quite easily here and much more cheaply. Amazon even do flower sprinkles if I were so inclined. I think your analysis of what Meghan is aiming for is correct, i don't think she has pulled it off though. Packaging only goes so far, and as an aside I find her packaging dull rather than luxury, but regardless you have to have good products in the packaging if you want repeat business or good word of mouth.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Enjoy Much-Needed Privacy at Dodger Stadium’s World Series Game 4

The fact that H&M are a target of mockery by sports journalists shows just how damaged their brand is in the US. It does not bode well for any attempts to appeal to the US market.

It says Jason Bateman was there, awkward, Justine Batemans brother, she publicly called them disaster tourists during the LA fires.

I haven’t been able to try Meghan’s As Ever products so I can’t speak to the quality yet, but I like how they are presented. Obviously jam and honey aren’t luxury goods, but her products look to me like a luxury product at a middle class price.
