Meghan has just popped a video clip of herself in the back of a limo with her feet up travelling through the streets of Paris. Is this rather insensitive given the way her MIL died or is it perfectly normal to post such stuff?

October is a big month for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are set to be presented with Project Healthy Minds' Humanitarians of the Year Awards on October 9. The couple will receive this honor at the non-profit's third annual World Mental Health Day Gala which helps to support their mission to connect over 10 million Americans with mental health services over the next decade.
Prince Harry and Meghan will receive the award in recognition of their efforts to build a safer digital world for families and youth, s well as their contributions to advancing mental wellbeing.

And Meg chose to promote Balenciaga. Unreal.

NormaMajors1992coat · 07/10/2025 12:51

“Their contributions to advancing wellbeing”?? Not sure the PoW’s wellbeing has been much advanced by these two and their devotees.

NormaMajors1992coat · 07/10/2025 12:53

Not to mention the victims of their bullying, some of whom actually needed professional help to restore said wellbeing. What a joke they are.

Maybe Meg is brandless.

'I'm a chameleon. Ever-changing. Indefinable. Unstoppable. You will never pin me down'. <Twirly woman in white on a beach chucks flowers into the soft focus waves>

Voice over: 'ESSENCE OF RAPTURE. ELEVATED BEYOND MORTAL IMAGINING'.

'The new parfum by Random Pointless Fashion House'.

That's such a good take-off of a perfume ad - my compliments 🥂

It's highly likely to be a paid for award like their other awards. Project Healthy Minds seems to be some sort of tax exempt corporate middle man between mental health service providers and potential clients. What's interesting is that the award is for the Parent Network's work. So why not award it to the Parent Network as an entity, including the poor, deceased parents at the heart of it, rather than H&M as individuals?

Very good point.

Indianrollerbird · 07/10/2025 13:21

Apologies, that should have been the bereaved parents, not deceased parents. Their children died.

Indianrollerbird · 07/10/2025 13:31

AutumnedCrow · 07/10/2025 13:12

Very good point.

It's pretty grim, actually. The Parent Network existed well before H&M (via Archwell) got involved with them. The parents were already connected through various court cases they had brought. Archewell got involved with them in 2024, and Archwell's main input appears to be an online forum and a rooftop installation of pictures of the children who died - an installation that was only there for a day (long enough for Harry to get some good press from the BBC). Whilst those 2 things are nice enough, do they warrant a personal award for H&M? Are there no other orgs or individuals more worthy?

Meghan's reply to the criticism of her Instagram post

  1. The DM reported what Twitter was abuzz with. The link can't be tenuous if so many separate people reached the same conclusion - that means it's an obvious link. Woman dies in car speeding by the Pont d'Alma at night; her DIL, married to the son who claims to be the most traumatized some 25+ years on by said death, posts clip of herself driving alone near the Pont d'Alma at night. Tenuous would have been driving by a bridge in Rome at night.
  2. What's interesting, though, is that she's taken aim at the DM - target of Harry's dragon-slaying. I don't think this riposte is aimed at the DM. I think it's for Harry's benefit: she messed up, he's hurt, she knows she went too far, she's lashing out at the very same dragon Harry is trying to slay to realign herself with him and to distract him from the offence she's caused him.
  3. Add this to the juggling outside the window and that awful photo she posted on his birthday and the way she pushes and pulls him in public and talks over him: she's just not very nice to him. I mean, he does seem to be a bit thick and need 'managing', but there are ways and means of doing so. She borderline humiliates him in public. You do that if you have contempt for someone.
  4. Meghan ain't no muse for nobody! To be a muse means inspiring a curiosity in an artist that their creativity feeds off. Meghan has nothing original, no creative inspiration, nothing new to offer. She copies others in every little aspect of her life - she's a pretender, not a leader. She's derivative, the absolute opposite of what a must is.
  5. Is it just me or was the white cape a different shade of white from the pajama suit? I make no comment on the actual clothes, I'm not Balenciaga's target audience. But there just seemed to be no style to it: the cape over something fitted and in a shade that works: yes. The pajamas alone: yes. This looks like someone thinking more is more.

Everything is focused on getting a good photograph. But I've seen a few films and stills of celebrities at PFW and they manage to get good shots whilst still walking and interacting in a more natural way. Meghan wants the exposure but seems uncomfortable as herself in front of the camera. No wonder she found royal life stressful, it's constant cameras.

"I will always find my light. No question. And if I don't, I'll know, because my dad will be the first person to call me and say, like, 'You need to have him bring another 2K in,' and 'Why aren't you using this sort of lighting gel?' The crew guys know that it's where I grew up."

Meghan posted this on The Tig (pre-Harry) in a (I think) Fathers Day post about her Dad.

Cocolapew · 07/10/2025 13:47

There's another cringe video from the show where Kristin Scott Thomas totally blanks her.
Balenciaga was such a poor choice of show.

Yes I saw that. She completely refused to acknowledge her. As I said in an earlier post, Paris would have been crawling with celebrities but M couldn’t get a single photo with one.

Indianrollerbird · 07/10/2025 13:57

I've seen an interesting theory that Meghan was in fact (the incredibly well connected) Markus Anderson's plus one. Which is why they didn't have great seats and why he looked annoyed with all her posing. I don't think her picture was initially on Balenciaga's Instagram feed of the stars in attendance.

I’d love to see the video for that.

Letmeoutodhere · 07/10/2025 17:34

Embarrassing. Why on earth was she trying to insert herself into a conversation with two people she doesn’t know anyway?

AtIusvue · 07/10/2025 17:55

For someone who is as socially awkward as she is, I really don’t know why she puts herself out there.

She genuinely doesn’t know how to act in social situations- whether that’s publicly laughing at the mishaps of others, imposing herself into others conversations- I think a lot of her problems with the RF stem from her inability to read the situation around her and then unable to deal with peoples reactions to her awkward behaviour.

AutumnedCrow · 07/10/2025 18:08

Meg’s people have a statement out about her wearing the Balenciaga designer chap’s clobber ‘at key moments on the world stage’ 😄 Gawd, the utter pretentiousness of it all.

It just goes to show what absolute BS these awards are - M claimed to be suicidal and not know how to look for help (even though she would have been under the best maternity care money can buy). Harry's book Spare clearly illustrates that his mental health is poor. I don't think anyone should take advice or inspiration from this pair.

A safer digital world?! Those Balenciaga photos from only three years ago are appalling and yet Meghan has now, very deliberately, associated herself with the brand.

Apparently she was trying to get a photo with Bezos . She sent her team to arrange it but they failed .

She has proven to Balenciaga that she can keep herself, and hence their products, in the news for several days. That is all that matters.

Yes but not in a good way. It's dragged up all the child porn thing again.

I have started to wonder the same thing about her interactions with the RF behind closed doors. My best advice to someone marrying into a big extended family is to sit back, stay quiet and observe them and get to understand the ‘norms’ of the family. I say this as someone who married into a big family from a different culture. I think the RF is in itself a different culture and I think the reason why Sophie and Catherine ended up fitting in so well is that they watched and learned. I remember watching M with Catherine and Camilla in a carriage at Trooping the Colour and she kept yapping away to them while they stayed quiet and focused on the crowd. Her one job that day was to wave to the plebs but she didn’t get it. think M is incapable of simply nodding, smiling and listening to others. I do think M wasn’t getting along with some family members, especially K and W, and this caused tension and unhappiness which partly drove M and H to leave.

Meghan was at a huge disadvantage as an American because a lot of the Royal Family's traditions and protocols are talked about a lot in the media and if you grow up in the UK you know a lot about it almost against your will.

Then that's coupled with the very romanticized version of royalty and the royal family that a lot of people over here in the US have.

If she'd been British she would have known not to expect Archie to become a prince on birth because he was a great-grandchild, and that there was only an exception made for the younger Wales kids because of the change to primogeniture before George was born. It wasn't some big insult to Harry and Meghan's children it was just the legal options available.

There was a very telling phrase in the middle of the Oprah interview where she said to Oprah something like "it's not like in the movies".

No wonder she was disappointed with royal life if she was expecting the Princess Diaries.

But that's on Harry in my opinion, after reading Spare though it seems as though he was also ignorant to how things had been managed before.

MrsFinkelstein · 07/10/2025 18:55

Just wondering if Meghan went to any other shows at PFW?

The big ones are obviously Chanel, Dior, YSL, Valentino, Gucci, LV, Tom Ford, Givenchy. To have been seen at any of those would have been the absolute must do for any celeb/influencer.

I'm not a real fashionista, but personally I would love to see any of those shows because I'd bet they would be amazing.

JSMill · 07/10/2025 19:01

@wordlerI totally agree with you but again, as someone who married into a different culture I can’t totally let M off the hook. It wasn’t easy sailing but what kept me going is loving my husband and wanting to have a successful marriage. M has happily watched her dh cut himself off from his family and friends because she wasn’t happy. I couldn’t imagine watching my dh do that. I totally accept that H must have been unhappy anyway but if my spouse had issues with his family, I would encourage him to work through them, not walk away.
