Yet more damaging revelations for the Yorks. How did the Daily Mail manage to get hold of the email I wonder?

Precisely, Cathy - though I do agree with MrsLF that the timing's interesting, coming just after William and his dad met at Balmoral

As I've mentioned before there really isn't a lot that's gone right since the Queen died, but then with Charles in charge I didn't really expect it to
It seems that all monarchists can hope is that William makes a better fist of things

I don't think William will do anything long term to change the Monarchy because it will mean disadvantaging his own children. He wont have to deal with the Yorks or Harry because they will be forgotten about by the time he's King. But the long term problems that resulted in Harry and Andrew (and Margaret) are still there. If he really wanted long term change then he should be working with his father to change the Monarchy now. There is no indication that William wants to do anything but even less work for the same amount of privilege.

Article in the Times today saying the Yorks are banned from Sandringham and public events. Family events they are to be ‘ invisible’ ie use discreet entrances and exit

We'll see, @ThePoshUns

As usual the question has to be what happens if Andrew and/or Sarah don't want to behave discreetly and decide they want revenge

Exactly and I really can't see it happening. They already knew how unpopular they are but they still pushed to the front to be photographed and make the papers at the Duchess of Kent's funeral with Andrew grinning like a bloody Cheshire cat. They just do not give any fucks.

Interesting that in the article a PP posted that they spent Christmas alone together at Royal Lodge when I'm pretty sure Beatrice and Eugenie both attended church with everyone else. Wonder if they met with their parents afterwards but that does strike me as them still trying to hold onto a bit of the royal pie. Especially when they've both got young children they could have been with instead.

JSMill · 28/09/2025 13:45

I recall that both Beatrice and Eugenie were both at Sandringham while their parents celebrated Christmas elsewhere. I thought that was a bit shit from them although I wonder if they were encouraged to do so by their parents in order to cling onto their royal connections. I think Andrew and Sarah still aspire for their daughters to be working royals, which is quite ludicrous.

Thedom · 28/09/2025 13:54

I think last year both of them had announced they would be joining their in-laws for Christmas, but then Beatrice was unable to travel to Italy for pregnancy related issues, so joined the family at Sandringham at the last minute.

Yes that was what was said but surely Windsor is closer to London than Sandringham! I agree the Yorksxstill want to insert themselves on the walk to church etc and the daughters are willing participants.

I suppose that would depend on what he did, @lidlamaretto, but FWIW I'm another who expects William to do little except please himself

It would be nice to be wrong in that it might be pleasant to see someone able to impose basic decency, but then as a republican it would suit me just fine if he trashed the whole thing

stillavid · 28/09/2025 15:27

I think William will change things because I don't think he wants the same type of life for his children.

TheAutumnalCrow · 28/09/2025 16:06

The ‘York girls’ are women aged 37 and 35, who reputedly line their own pockets and promote their own interests with money and contacts via dodgy Middle East contacts in cahoots with their vile parents.

jumpingthehighjump · 28/09/2025 11:13

I agree. This has been going on YEARS. All this bleating about Andrew moving off Royal Estate and bingo, he miraculously finds mega bucks to fund repairs (after daughters are flying out to ME time and time again)
Nothing happened after the Chinese Spy and I doubt anything will happen now

Charles is very good at pretending to deal with it but never does

Charles is weak.

Letmeoutodhere · 28/09/2025 17:28

Charles is weak.

And Andrew is a known bully.
Wonder what Princess Anne's take on all this is. She'd probably be capable of kicking him out of Royal Lodge on the tip of her wellington boot.

padronpepper · 28/09/2025 17:55

The only one who can do anything is Charles. Will he or won’t he is the big question.

Well if she wanted to do that then surely nothing is stopping her reading him the riot act and telling him to lay low and get out of the house for the sake of the family. She's done bugger all either.

padronpepper · 28/09/2025 17:57

They are all spineless.

I know but I suspect she can't do anything without the say so of Chas as head of the family.

By that I mean I'm sure she's given him a piece of her mind but she doesn't have the authority to evict him from RL.

Edited

I mean nobody knows 'for sure' that she's done anything. She could be telling him to stay where he is and that he's done nothing wrong for all we know.

True it's all supposition.
Princess Anne did actually drive past me the other week (well her convoy did as she was in my town for a visit) so I should probably have flagged her down and asked her!

Nah - stopping her convoy's been tried before, AnAlapaca, and that didn't end well either Wink

🤣🤣🤣.
She'd be alright anyway because I'm a crap shot. And also don't own a gun.

She does pop over at least once a year because a couple of her charities are close to where I live so maybe next time I could put a banner up on the route. Just something mild like "wave if you hate your freeloading nonce of a brother".

justasking111 · 28/09/2025 19:06

Saw somewhere something about Andrew and Meghan going back in time. The Maxwell creature is blabbing about.

It's all getting a bit much now. The knives are out but who's stirring the pot drip feeding emails etc I have no idea.

I agree with this.

The days of carrying on the same life because his father before him has felt he had to suffer it are over. (I believe the late Queen may have even enjoyed that sort of life, or at least it gelled with her personality and she wasn't much affected by it. Same with Anne.)

CathyorClaire · 28/09/2025 20:19

She's done bugger all either.

If anything Anne's another who's waved the proverbial two fingers.

We know she and Edward have cavorted round shooting jollies with him and that Edward goes riding with him

https://www.the-sun.com/lifestyle/6720262/king-charles-displeased-shooting-party-andrew/

And as late as last August they were reported to be 'quietly supporting' him:

https://archive.ph/ZOcjv#selection-1105.348-1105.483

I suspect they think the only thing he's done wrong is getting caught.

jumpingthehighjump · 28/09/2025 20:59

Everything is a very clever cover up. We honestly know nothing

They must be bricking it when the general public get hold of a morsel

padronpepper · 28/09/2025 21:46

If it wasn’t for the Daily Mail and Sunday Mail none of this would be in the public realm as far as i can see.
It was also the Mail who dug into Zara Tindall’s business relationship with Chinese business tycoon Johnny Hon and forced her to admit that she had received £200,000 from him for consultancy services. She had previously denied receiving any money from him.
Does the Royal Family and its assorted hangers on think that people are stupid, thick or gullible? And that wheeling out the young Wales children at various walkabouts and football and tennis finals will work as a sop to the masses?

TooTooMuchEverything · 28/09/2025 21:47

I used to think it was a bit shit the RF members had to do this very public church visit and walk on Christmas Day.

However, it’s a very good PR exercise which garners them a ton of positive public attention and the after glow lasts well past the Christmas season.

I can see why it would have been very important to the Yorks.

padronpepper · 28/09/2025 22:49

The only way that Charles and William can earn any modicum of respect at this stage of this sordid saga is by instructing their fat cat counsels to start the process of unsealing the records of Andrew’s years as Trade Envoy.
