Whether that's first hand or at second hand once removed. It's perfectly possible to serve in the military whilst being a useless arse. And he was was one. Apparently.

Completely agree, and on the contrary would applaud him having Catherine's back when they smeared her globally (and charles) as racists. No doubt he and Catherine also wish to protect their children from Harry's publicly broadcasted opinions, whilst I have some agreement with the impact of being royal on G, C and Louis. W &C seem to be managing well in the public glare, let alone Catherine's cancer diagnosis.

I think it was more a clash of cultures, meghan made reference to this in her own words. That her first meeting with W&C she was wearing ripped jeans and was barefoot, and went to hug W&C, but made mention something along the lines of how she "was a hugger" and that (hugging) wasn't something that was a British thing. It definitely suggested to me that she was trying to paint herself as the cool, hip American (love bombing ?) and W&C as stiff, reserved conventional brits. Especially with unnecessary reference to her attire (or lack thereof, regarding her footwear)
I think the truth of the interaction was somewhere in the middle, as we don't have the other side of the story. So I would guess it was awkward, especially for W&C who I can believe are not tactile with complete strangers, much like some people and not exclusively a british thing. W especially given he's likely always been wary of strangers, due to his role and position in the rf. Kate has had years of being in the rf, and guess she has had to be a bit sceptical with people she doesn't know.

According to Harry’s book, Meghan appeared to exaggerate and escalate events with others, the lipstick incident is a typical example, she just wanted to cause strife.

Meghan has been unable to get along with her American counterparts, her very own family, some of her longstanding friends, it’s all very well documented.

She is the proverbial bitch, arrogant and conceited, who will always have problems with others, nothing to do with any sort of culture clash in my opinion.

I did think at some point K & W would get a kicking in the press. The British press always has to have a ‘villain’ in the RF. They don’t help themselves with their very long summer absences though. Of course, that’s always been a royal tradition but I don’t think it’s justifiable.

I think the whole 'fun and charismatic' thing has been fatally undermined by Harry's bitterness and whining these past 5 years. Notably complaining about being 'forced' to spend a few days with people suffering in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Nepal.

The much-derided 'grey men' did a brilliant job of portraying Harry as a charming japester, but that mask has been ripped off. By Harry himself.
