I’ve always thought Fergie was bloody awful. I can’t understand how she’s inveigled her way into public affection recently.

Me too. Ghastly, grasping woman.

It’s puzzling why Sarah Ferguson hasn’t been subjected to the same level of scrutiny as Prince Andrew, given her own controversies. For instance, she reportedly borrowed £15,000 (about $20,000) from Jeffrey Epstein in 2010, a fact that came to light during investigations into Epstein’s activities—yet she hasn’t faced comparable backlash. Add to that the sting operation I mentioned earlier, where she accepted £40,000 in exchange for offering access to Prince Andrew. And this is only what is known because they got caught.

This ⬆️

I remember seeing Fergie being interviewed on 60 Minutes in Australia. Not sure if it was ever shown here. She was an absolute uppity twat.

jollygreenpea · 02/08/2025 19:48

Perhaps if the rumours of Meghan being a 'yacht girl' were true, and Andrew got there first before Harry, Harry couldn't say anything in his book, interviews etc.as he would have to acknowledged Meghan's past.?

I agree.

She's a total grifter, living off the royal family after being divorced from one of them for 30 years.

hoteltango · 02/08/2025 19:51

This is somewhat of a slight tangent, but there was a brief mention of Prince Andrew in Ben Macintyre’s book The Siege. The book is about the Iranian Embassy siege in 1989, which was ended by the SAS.

Prince Andrew at that time was 20 years old and undergoing helicopter training. He’d been watching the television coverage and wanted to be where the action was, namely the temporary police control centre a few doors down from the embassy and designated Zulu Control, so he could “see the drama unfolding. And he was used to getting what he wanted.” That was on the Sunday.

The siege eventually ended the following day. Macintyre writes: “The operation ended officially at 19:34 … The Home Secretary appeared at Zulu Control at 19:54. Prince Andrew arrived one minute later.”

Really, his arrogance knows no bounds. There had already been deaths during the siege, and a growing indication that there'd be more - but he wanted to see the drama.

Agree. There is a lot of perhaps perhaps and supposition there...

Although many of us have heard these rumours, currently there is no concrete proof that they are true! , pictures of Meghan on a yacht with Epsteins girlfriend are only proof that she was invited to a party and not proof of any nefarious activities.
so at this point it is purely rumours and gossip not fact.

Denial from Harry.

Copied from another forum but story is at Hello Magazine website.

So he was quick to give a statement correcting something about his uncle Andrew, but when it comes to false (media) claims about his own family being racist, he stayed silent. Interestingly, he even accepted an award related to that false story, only to correct it two years later.

Prince Harry breaks silence over 'physical fight' with Prince Andrew and comments on Meghan

Prince Harry has issued a denial that he ever had a physical fight with his uncle, and Godfather, Prince Andrew.

Following the release of an extract of a new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex told HELLO! that the reports were incorrect.

The book alleges that in 2013 Harry and his uncle were in physical altercation over "something Andrew said behind Harry’s back".
Published in the Daily Mail, the extract, from author Andrew Lownie, claims that Harry and his brother Prince William both have a "problematic" relationship with Andrew, and that the 2013 fight saw "Harry get the better of Andrew," with Andrew left "with a bloody nose".

"I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry," they told HELLO!

What does the book allege?
The book also claims that the Duke of York told Harry he was "bonkers" for not properly researching the background of his then-girlfriend Meghan Markle, and that Andrew told the royal family that their marriage would not last.

Harry and Meghan wed in 2017 and now live in Montecito, California with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Andrew also allegedly "openly accused Meghan of being an opportunist," and said she was "too old" for Harry; Harry "later told William that he hated Andrew," the book reports.

CathyorClaire · 02/08/2025 20:17

Haven't RTFT but I was incensed to discover from the article that not only was Andrew using his Trade Envoy role to pursue his own deals on the side, he was also using it to shag around.

It makes the sealing of the papers relating to this confected and tax payer funded role all the more nauseating 😡

Absolutely.

No one can find out who he travelled with. How long he was away. How much it cost. How much he extended his trips for pleasure. And much more.

No wonder the details are sealed. I think there would be a public outcry if it was released

Yes! 🤔 , what they let go and what they deem worthy of a denial seems rather odd!

I’m surprised Philip ever let him get away with that kind of behaviour.

Andrew from all accounts was much more the kind of 'manly' son the ghastly Philip wanted.

Bookish, needy C didn't cut the mustard 🙁

Didn’t Philip send Charles to the school where he was mercilessly bullied to toughen him up? , I’m sure I read that somewhere!

Manly, perhaps, but I can’t see PP condoning the sort of behaviour described in this excerpt. Apart from anything else, it would be extremely risky in terms of security and scandal.

Philip had gone to Gordonstoun and wanted Charles to go there as well. I think the Queen wanted Charles to go to Eton. There was a time when Philip was complaining that his children couldn't have his surname, and I think the Queen gave in on the matter of schools.

Gordonstoun has changed since Charles was there. Andrew and, I think, Zara also attended. It might have suited Harry better than Eton did.

That's what. I was thinking of, Jeff

I hold no candle for C3 generally as you know but the stories about him crying himself to sleep at school and his weekly postal pleas to come home falling on deaf ears are heart breaking 🙁

It's fast, considering the time difference. I wonder if H&M were on tenterhooks, wondering what the book would say about them. It'd be small recompense for what they put the rest of the family through.

It’s a shame that Charles didn’t go to Eton , it probably would have suited his love of art and literature!
but I suppose times have changed so we must be careful not to judge through the lens of current sentiment.
