I think it’s more about Meghan than about Andrew, denying the physical fight is just a byproduct of them defending Meghan and the questions it raises about her background and her being an opportunist, which has already been reported the Queen also believed.

The fight was in 2013 so Andrew's comments about Meghan being an unsuitable wife for Harry must have happened later.

Thedom · 04/08/2025 09:26

The whole reason this has now become a big part of the discussion is because within a few hours of it being published, Harry and Meghan have made a public statement and brought in the lawyers.

I think IF there is any conspiracy at all, it would possibly be something that Harry and Meghan are involved in manipulating, rather than the RF or the newspaper editors.

Of all the things said about them recently, that Harry was nasty and rude to the Queen, that the Queen didn't like Meghan, the Queen believed Meghan orchestrated the relationship with Harry, etc etc., the PA allegations are the ones they have stepped in to defend.

Now its going to be a waiting game to see if the author retracts his claims, and if he doesn't,, will H&M pursue a legal case, and if they don't pursue it, why not !.

Lownie issued a statement yesterday standing by his claims. On X, he's made clear he I'll be standing his ground, whatever H & M do next.

The article today on his wealth and business dealings as TA is truly shocking, summed up by...

A former Buckingham Palace staff member who worked with the prince claimed that many inside The Firm spent four years actively nudging the Press away from negative Andrew stories in return for cooperation in other ways. But, he added: ‘There are dozens, if not hundreds, more unwise connections to uncover from Andrew’s years in the role.’

Harry’s supporters need to accept that he is close to his uncle

By that reasoning, so are his brother Charles, his other brother Edward and his sister Anne. They haven't criticised Andrew in any way, shape or form, not even hinted at it.

That's not the case. The people you mention have never discussed in public their relatives. Harry is the blabber mouth.

I’m honestly not blaming Harry and Meghan and like everyone else on here, I don’t believe the 2012 pornography claim.

I’m just interested in why he did what he did over the weekend. It seems so odd.

Whilst I don’t doubt that Meghan manipulated the blind date (I don’t believe for a minute that she didn’t know who Harry was) I do think that their relationship is a loving one and also that some of their complaints about the RF probably have merit. I’m truly neutral on the Harry/William thing and don’t care much. I am just curious about Harry’s behaviour over the weekend.

I enjoy a bit of tittle tattle but I don’t lose sight of the real victims in this tale, the sexually assaulted women. And there is a valid story about taxpayers’ money too.

And about the security of the UK, given the assertions that Epstein sold information from Andrew to Putin.

Profhilodisaster · 04/08/2025 11:09

What a mess , I wish someone (William?) would finally reach the end of their tether and address all of these issues/allegations .
Wont happen though.

Well, it is the case isn't it? Why can't any of them say anything? Even hint at it? I'll tell you why... they stand by him and don't think he has done anything wrong.

That has been illustrated time and time again.
Kate and william driving him places, letting him take charge of a walk in to church for a memorial service

They also haven’t publicly criticised other members of the royal family!
they also rarely say anything publicly at all ( which surely you should know by now!)
they haven’t rushed to a newspaper to deny anything!
they haven’t threatened a lawyers letter publicly!

either you actually follow the royals and know these facts and are ignoring them to defend h and m or you don’t and are literally spouting nonsense to defend them instead!

I wonder if he misread the story and thought it was about something else?

Well, it is quite a long piece 😂.

jeffgoldblum · 04/08/2025 11:15

Now it seems due to my late morning I have missed linking the new article!
I will try to do it now ! Hopefully if I mess it up someone will kindly fix the link.

I could say you are 'spouting nonsense' but I actually wouldn't be so rude. Different opinions are allowed on your thread you know.

Of course I know about what the Royal family do and don't do. However, there have been times when veiled comments have been made that puts across true feelings about subjects by members of the Royal family.
They embrace him. They don't even try to make us think otherwise.

I am not sure what I am supposed to be making up.

I have an opinion that the royal family still embrace Andrew and could step back somewhat which would give a clear message out.
You obviously think not.

That's fine. Different opinions allowed.

jeffgoldblum · 04/08/2025 11:29

acquaintance compared him to a hot air balloon: ‘He seems to float in very rarefied circles without any visible means of support.’

i liked this comment! 🤣

I would imagine it's because they don't wash their dirty linen in public unlike Harry. It's not difficult to work out is it?

Your post isn't clear? The RF to step back or Andrew?

The shamelessness of the Yorks on full display there. Every one of them receiving thousands of pounds from dodgy billionaires and Andrew using his position to line his own pockets. It’s shocking.

I would not expect them to give a Newsnight interview talking about how awful Andrew is. 🤣

I am talking about stepping back, about not driving him around, about not letting him and his ex wife lead the royal family into church, and if there was the chance for a raised eyebrow or a veiled comment, that too.

They don't. I imagine they think he hasn't done anything wrong. Charles maybe not the case but he is landed with the problem that is Andrew, courtesy of his Mother. And there appears to be nowhere to go with it.

JSMill · 04/08/2025 11:34

Not strange timing at all. It’s an old story with no new updates. It’s just a friendly reminder that H & M never threatens legal action over those damaging allegations. I’m glad it’s not disappeared because I know from the personal experience of people close to me how traumatising workplace bullying can be.
But of course Andrew is a revolting individual and the DM aren’t letting him off the hook. I would love to see him chucked out of royal lodge.

LidlAmaretto · 04/08/2025 11:35

CoffeeCantata · 04/08/2025 09:00

I don’t see that attitude on here. But - Harry has thrown his cap into the ring and threatened the paper with legal action!

Harry has dragged himself into this mess and quite why, is puzzling.

At the very beginning of all this I joked to my sister that I bet Harry was being paid by the RF to be a human shield- to act as some kind of lightening rod to deflect from everyone else in the family, and the whole 'family feud' was a complete sham that everyone was in on, and they all saw each other IRL. I didn't believe it but I though it explained why Harry was acting in such a ridiculous way. Now that seems to make sense!

Yes, and his close connection to Colonel Gaddafi which was not arranged via his trade envoy role. 3 visits in 7 months with a Dictator, followed by 3 visits in a similar timescale with Gaddafi's son.
Just shocking.

A former British ambassador to Tunisia wrote to the Foreign Secretary asking for Andrew to be sacked because his hobnobbing with ‘dodgy’ Arab businessmen was doing ‘serious damage to the Royal Family and to Britain’s political, diplomatic and commercial interests’.

Then of course the £750,000 and other cash payments and diamond necklace that floated by the Yorks bank accounts.

You really couldn't make it up.

Profhilodisaster · 04/08/2025 11:37

Just skim read the article (trying to work and look after elderly parent 😬), he sounds a very dangerous liability.

As you said you are entitled to your opinion but I would say that I expect very few people in the world think he has done nothing wrong. His appearance at the Church on that occasion was well discussed on here at the time - what could the RF do ? Lock him in the Tower? " a chance for a raised eyebrow" - how does that even translate in reality ?

Now that is some conspiracy theory 😂
