And yet Koo Stark…

..... would have been infinitely preferable to the ghastly Fergie. Although, to be fair, we don't know how that would have turned out, either.

SpryCat · 03/08/2025 08:37

Harry and Andrew were both spares, both were troublesome to the image of the monarchy and I should imagine they felt they had lots in common. Except A mother was the Queen, she personally paid out of court so PA wouldn’t go to court and shielded him.
What happened to H is a stark warning to A but I reckon he knows where most of the bodies are buried so they leave him be as if pushed, he would write lots of damaging books.

No we will never know. All I’m saying is that Andrew must have had some good qualities to attract her. Andrew was completely spoilt by his mother. He’s oafish, sexually incontinent and involved in shady financial dealings. Yes. But I am possibly in a minuscule minority who believes that Andrew believed in the words he spoke in the Maitlis interview.

He could ride roughshod over all of them and his entitlement meant he could ignore any reining in.

I can't believe no one could rein him in tbh. It's like how Royals would behave in medieval times but I assumed we were beyond that.

Meanwhile, his older brother was having his arranged marriage whilst thinking it was fine to hang on to his mistress.

BoudiccaRuled · 03/08/2025 08:47

I've finally read the article.
I'm shocked that no one has stood up to him. Turned to him in disgust saying, "I beg your pardon?!" at dinner parties etc. That poor woman having her evening dress unzipped in public.
He must be so absolutely awful that he'd just bore on through any comments. I think my "meh" opinion on royalty means I can't envisage letting the "don't you know who I am" system fly. Luckily I'll never be mixing in those circles.
I would be exploding in rage. Many (decent) men must have been itching their palms to thump him.
Hopefully this book creates real results and the Teflon has worn off.

Lownies' response to Harry's denial.

Lownie told The Daily Beast he stood by the story, saying he had rechecked and reconfirmed it with his source.

“I stand by my source, who has proved reliable and was close to Andrew. They had no reason to make this up and gave me lots of detail,” Lownie said. “On the other hand, it is understandable that Prince Harry’s spokesman should seek to deny the story which has shades of the altercation he had with his brother. I’m afraid there is a long history of the Duke of Sussex being economical with the truth.”

H has given himself a problem with his various lawsuits. Now, if he doesn’t take legal action, many people will assume the story to be true. I think the publishers of this book will be well aware of H’s litigious nature so will have to have had rock solid sources to agree to publish.

I think everyone thinks he believes the words he spoke in the maitlis interview.!!

His entitlement and self belief in himself was obvious! The fact that he thought the interview had gone really well shows that. Then next day the shit hits the fan!

I suspect being TLQ’s favorite gad a lot to do with it. And he was the only one of PP’s sons who came anywhere near what he would have wanted. Charles and Edward would both have been, in his eyes, pretty feeble characters. And Ann was obviously a girl, so no use to anyone.

I’m going to start a Aldi nanny agency called Normand.

🤣

That's a very good point. Lownie's reposte was to say that Harry is "economical with the truth".
Harry should definitely sue if he is actually being honest about this. He uses litigation frequently.

I thought everyone thought he believed what he said- that’s why it was so appalling..

What I’m getting at is…

When Charles was young he had women all over the world ‘throwing themselves at him’, to use an outmoded phrase. Remember the Australian or American model who followed him into the sea for a snog? Now, I just about get it that this would be nice for average-looking Charles, but I have the impression it was much more civilised - there’d at least be some semblance of romance about these liaisons, not the sleazy, brutal, dehumanising, exploitative things which Andrew went in for.

OK, Andrew was thought to be handsome when young (yuk - each to their own….) but while I get that being spoiled might lead to rudeness to menials and pompous ass behaviour , his sexual conduct is more the sort of thing you hear about from say, Russell Brand, Greg Wallace or their ilk. I still don’t think his upbringing alone explains the sexual repulsiveness. There’s got to be a pre-existing psychological factor.

Actually at the time people were implying that he thought he had managed to fool people and had got away with it.

OccasionalHope · 03/08/2025 09:19

Actually, the new revelations make it more plausible to me that he didn’t specifically remember VG. Why would he remember one among so many?

Oh, I see what you mean. There is quite a history of Royal men being sexually…incontinent…though. Including (ducks) Prince Philip. So, if that’s true he had a pretty shit example to follow. And with both his parents condoning and supporting his behaviour you can see how he was so sure of himself. Charles was going to be King, so had to at least try to conduct himself discreetly. Edward was, it seems not really worthy of consideration. So Andrew had the “roistering, rogering” role. All very Blackadder.

jeffgoldblum · 03/08/2025 09:23

I stayed up late digesting it! , the things that stood out to me was …. Multiple people saying he was being used……that he was naive and stupid….easily manipulated…..targeted because of his massive ego…..the sexual exploits was the least interesting but ….maxwell was apparently his girlfriend too! …..the mention of trump being very involved……Clinton also just dropped In……the selling of his details to unfriendly ( to us) countries….videos blackmail……it’s all so much worse than we thought!
what will the next instalment bring?

Epstein videos sold to Putin - mind blowing.

jumpingthehighjump · 02/08/2025 20:20

Absolutely.

No one can find out who he travelled with. How long he was away. How much it cost. How much he extended his trips for pleasure. And much more.

No wonder the details are sealed. I think there would be a public outcry if it was released

Yes absolutely this!

Sorry, but I don’t understand how the late QE2 could not know!

Reports must have come back from the foreign office! Didn’t an ambassador or senior civil servant write an e-mail complaining about his behaviour way before this book was published?

Ten women a day being shown to his hotel room in Thailand while representing the UK as a trade envoy?

If he brought lots of unsuitable women to dine with the queen she must have had some clue?

And far more important, a nanny leaving bc she was sexually harrassed?

All the staff knowing that he was a sex pest?

And what about shouting at a staff member and calling him an imbecile?

Even worse if that’s possible, breaking a policeman’s arm when Andrew drove too fast in to Buckingham Palace and it being covered up? That is truly shocking!

Why was he so indulged by her?

Smashing the gates at Windsor great lodge causing thousands of pounds worth of damage which tax payers paid for? The gardeners writing a petition about Andrew speeding dangerously through the park?

The Queen must have known!

And yet everyone is focussing on Meghan talking too harshly to
staff members and sending e-mails at 5 am?

I’m no Sussex Supporter but no wonder Harry was steaming! His uncle gets away with years and years of continual atrocious behaviour and serious abuse of staff and the Palace covers it all up! And all of the leaks and flack gets directed at Meghan who wasn’t raised a royal and probably brought her hustling Californian actress persona to her new role?

I for one am really glad that Harry gave Andrew a bloody nose! Good for him! He seems to be one of the few members of the RF who hasn’t indulged this repulsive individual!

I hope this book leads to the FO files being publically available. MPs please take note! And sorry but the late Queen’s actions or inaction needs to be examined too.

With mention of trump , it does make you wonder if that was why he was so soft on putin?!!!!

OP posts:
Stuckinasitiation · 03/08/2025 09:31

What is scary about all this is it shows that the RF really are untouchable and not accountable to anyone. The Queen is always held up as such a standard bearer but she let this odious man behave in a shockingly irresponsible and disgraceful way and never did anything about it. So was she really such a great Queen? She just looked the other way.

diddl · 03/08/2025 09:33

Andrew was easy prey for a rattlesnake like Epstein.

Epstein seems to have given him millions.

Did he really think it was from the goodness of his heart?

Was he just greedy/entitled to want so much?

Was his allowance (or whatever) really so little?

Well that’s all very well and good but Harry has apparently already popped up to deny that he gave his uncle a bloody nose , that they argued , that Andrew made comments about Meghan ! 🤷‍♀️

And yet Harry did not utter a bad word about Andrew in Spare! He had plenty of snide comments about others ( especially Catherine) so surely that was his chance to let rip ?
