The meeting was on Wednesday but has only been leaked after the Princess of Wales’ appearance at Wimbledon yesterday. She received such a warm reception and a standing ovation. I know who I would bet my money on who leaked this and it isn’t the RF. Also interesting timing after yesterday’s story of the disclosure ruling which makes Harry and his legal counsel look very dodgy indeed.

The fact that this meeting was held where it was is also interesting. @BemusedAmerican could be bang on the money. This meeting could have very well been a test of trust. They’ve certainly blown that if so!

David Sherborne and Harry come very badly out of the latest story about the Daily Mail. Using newspaper publishers as a cash cow and encouraging others to do the same isn't exactly showing up and doing good.

IdaGlossop · 13/07/2025 12:18

Actually, the leak by H could serve the RF well. It protects them in the eyes of the public against a future charge from H of 'my family refuses to speak to me'. Sending aides shows they are at least willing to open dialogue. What may or my not be agreed is less important.

A valid point, IdaGlossop, though it wouldn't stop Harry making silly claims to the contrary and believing them to be true in his own addled head

Anyway, I just hope Meredith Maines can find some way of spinning whatever happened positively once she's back with her boss; after all she's a very recent hire and we've all seen what happens to staff who are perceived not to deliver

@KassandraOfSparta - credit to Meghan for trying to earn money without continuously resorting to trashing the RF. At least pancake mix is harmless. She's trying to have earning opportunities beyond that now.

There's a piece in Private Eye saying that overselling of small runs of goods is part of the datamining strategy for As ever. It's a step on from mailing lists, which only gives them email addresses to sell on. Now, they've got names, IP address, and bank details.

Snorlaxo · 13/07/2025 12:28

Charles has kept his brother close, has done quite a lot of work /allowed his team to work on rehabilitating Andrew’s reputation- why do so many posters assume someone who’d been so forgiving of his brother would find his son’s behaviour beyond the pale?

Do you think that Charles “forgives” his brother? I assumed that he was trying to make sure that Andrew didn’t do a Harry hence seemingly backing down over Royal Lodge too.
I would agree that Andrew’s appearances at church etc are part of a rehabilitation plan long term.

MummyJ12 · 13/07/2025 12:29

Why on earth would they want to return to what they view as, the prison of the RF. Or have anything to do with an establishment that Harry feels has just stitched him up. Wouldn’t help his wife when she was in need. Although they and their children still use their titles and allude to their royal heritage in every way and any way possible.
They are living their best lives now we’re told.

Oh wait……

It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect Harry to make up stuff.

Whatever has persuaded Meredith Maines to work for them? She must like a challenge.

Just as well the judge is on the case. This and money from As Ever data to maintain their OTT lifestyle. Repellent.

Here’s my two pennithworth (not sure that’s actually a word!) best thing to happen would be to bring them all back to UK give them a Manor House, allowance and security tell them to shut the F up for ten years or so at which time they may be allowed to be seen in public occasionally

They crave the limelight. They will never shut up.

Please no. They are incapable of shutting up and want a more extravagant lifestyle than you are proposing so we'd have to hear them moaning about small rooms, lack of bathrooms etc.

MummyJ12 · 13/07/2025 12:42

Also, just a thought, but if this case starts to go very wrong for Harry (at the moment, it’s not looking great). Then Harry will probably believe that he’ll benefit from positive PR stories about reconciliation and offering olive branches (how many times have we read that!) not only is it a distraction but also could end up being a convenient excuse to drop the case “in the interests of reconciliation with the family”.

I don’t see how there can be reconciliation. As soon as Harry is in the presence of the king or William , surely they’d be worried his is taking notes so he has new material for a book. I’m NC with a couple of family members. It’s for the best. Just because people are related it doesn’t mean they have to get on and support each other.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 13/07/2025 12:47

Why does it have to be a 'Sussex leak' - implying both Harry and Meghan are in on it? Imagine the conversations in that monstrous house in Monteceito if one individual arranged for the paps, without the knowledge of their partner. One person desperately trying to find a way back to their family and another person desperately trying to stop them, by scuppering their chances by showing their discretion can't be relied upon.

It's all jolly interesting.

I agree, but I really do think Harry is too dim to realise when he's being played.

He's totally lost without the much reviled 'men in grey suits' to smooth his path and clean up his mess.

I'd encourage them to move to Portugal. Cheaper cost of living, the York cousins are there so the kids will finally have some family besides Doria. Meghan can bring out a Portuguese food- based cookbook.

On the surface it seems like an idea , but it has two failings.
1 nobody wants to pay for them now and they are unpopular.
2 neither of them can be trusted to shut up and not court controversy.

Didn't they buy a property in Portugal?
For a man so obsessed about security, I'm surprised he's happy to live in the USA.

Plus who on earth in the RF would talk to him, knowing it would be interpreted badly and sold to a tabloid or trashy magazine?

I think the 'property in Portugal' was just an internet rumour.

As for Harry, I'm not sure his happiness factors into the equation. Meghan would never want to live anywhere other than California and what Meghan wants...

Very, very true.

I don’t think for a minute that M would ever want to live in the UK again . I also don’t think she wants to visit and uses the security issue as an excuse. If H wants a reconciliation, I’m sure it’s what he wants not what she wants. Or she wants him to reconcile, take money from his father but remain in the US.
