Thanks for that link @AtIusvue

It is understood the face-to-face meeting was held to discuss avoiding media clashes and conflicts around calendar dates.

That actually seems to be the most logical of all the reasons speculated for the meeting.

It is also insinuated it was at the behest of the RF,

Harry is said to have “given his blessing” for the talks involving two of his team plus the King and Queen’s director of communications

Why not a zoom call ? Seems a bit daft and not eco friendly to have someone fly in from the US simply to meet to discuss a meeting !
Do we know how long the actual meeting took ? You know , the one that the US photographer just stumbled upon ?

JSMill · 14/07/2025 08:54

Given that 2 out of the 3 people at this meeting are from the Sussex team and one flew in from California to attend, I would say it’s far more likely that it was the Sussexes who initiated the meeting.

LadyJaneGrey18 · 14/07/2025 08:54

It seems a very odd thing to do to send your rep to discuss private financial issues involving the RF. I just don’t believe that was the issue. It would surely be dealt with using legal people in private.

Thedom · 14/07/2025 08:55

Why would the head of Royal Media communications be there to discuss personal financial matters? Is that the RF way of keeping Harry and Meghan at arms length around any discussion.

Thedom · 14/07/2025 08:59

It could easily be around the Invictus planning and the coordinating of calendars etc., I think someone mentioned that possibility and that it clashed with Camilla's birthday, but then you would wonder why someone from Invictus was not in attendance. Harry will definitely want some senior Royals to attend.

MummyJ12 · 14/07/2025 08:46

Neil Sean is reporting that this meeting was about money. Harry wants access to trust funds that he believes his mother and grandmother set up for him and he wants the funds released. Who knows if this is true but IMO, it would make sense and rings true.

Neil Sean is a fantasist who makes stuff up for clicks.

And is Charles really going to send someone to discuss sensitive financial matters in a public place? Wouldn't this sort of thing be taken care of by lawyers, not PR people?

But as @BigWillyLittleTodger said, Harry and Meghan don't do anything. Why the need to 'coordinate' empty calendars? The IG are a possibility, but that's two years off, although of course royal diaries are booked well in advance. But again, this is the sort of stuff that could easily be done by Zoom, phone or email. No need to fly PR people across the Atlantic.

MaturingCheeseball · 14/07/2025 09:25

I agree these ideas don’t make sense. H&M’s diary is of no consequence to the rf. Financial matters would be hammered out by lawyers, not by comms people. Invictus plans could be settled or requests made remotely. Also think that a divorce would primarily involve lawyers, not the trio on the balcony.

Perhaps Team Sussex were trying to woo the Palace guy with a tremendous job offer?

AtIusvue · 14/07/2025 09:31

Harry is supposed to be launching a commercial venture sometime in the future. Just like Meghan did, before she launched her lifestyle business- she entered her era of ‘joy’ in order to move away from her whining image so people want to replicate her lifestyle.

It’s the same with Harry. Before he launches whatever it is he's planning - he needs to rehabilitate his traitor/sell out image. So once the DM case is over, unlikely he will launch more. He’s accepted the security case isn’t going anywhere. They will also try the reconciliation with the RF narrative too. It’s all to serve a selfish purpose- to help him launch whatever money making scheme they have in mind for him. They know he isn’t popular in the polls both here and in the US and they need to rehabilitate his image.

Also, NF deal ends in Sept. So they can distract from yet another failed venture by getting headlines about Harry reuniting with the King in Sept at Balmoral.

Well i think its fine to ask why someone cares thar a wedding many year ago that cost them as a taxpayer about £1 is something they are still moaning about today. That unless they are the 1% bracket they themselves aren't net contributors in terms of taxes and take more then they give yet are more concerned about that.

Noone has answered that.

Haha this is the opposite of what the Sussex supporters usually say - how much the RF costs each person 😂 and here you are justifying it 😂

Vespanest · 14/07/2025 10:05

It would be intriguing to have Williams take, no matter what the meeting was for, no matter who leaked it, the end result is the same. It was held back till Catherine was centre stage. Whoever this was did so on purpose and the others would be complicit if they allow this to be a repeated occurrence. It does feel a Sussex thing but it could also be a mole within. As they Wales do tend to keep their diaries private especially Catherines, and maybe for good reason. I can't see the benefit of this leak to the royal family but I can imagine there being some closed meetings on who knew.

LadyJaneGrey18 · 14/07/2025 10:10

Everyone concerned would have known Catherine would be at Wimbledon . I agree it was deliberate.

I see M and H are now furiously denying that they leaked the details. Yeah, right.

Unless they were skulking inside to avoid the "balcony shot" it's also noticeable that nobody from William's team appears to have been there

As said yesterday it's not likely to be that long until he's King, so I'd expect anyone normal to hand him a major slice of the input on any discussions since it's him who'll largely be picking up any pieces

Charles's self-indulgence and capacity for self pity's been massively reported over the years, but I do hope nothing's being done which would cause even more problems down the line

Well how would Charles know what was wanted? He isn’t in touch with Harry by all accounts so Charles and his aides would have no idea why Harry and his people requested the meeting. It was at a private members club owned by KC so they did meet up at the local Starbucks.

MummyJ12 · 14/07/2025 10:40

I can easily believe it was about money. Charles has been quoted as saying it’s all Harry ever wants from him.

That could have been done by phone call or video link.

It was absolutely appalling, @MummyJ12 . The threads on here were vile, and William and Kate were subject to extreme levels of scrutiny.

Yes people have got short memories, those threads were hideous.....

HonoriaBulstrode · 14/07/2025 10:56

Harry will definitely want some senior Royals to attend [Invictus].

What Harry wants isn't necessarily what Harry gets.

And if I was the King, I would say that any invitation to Balmoral was conditional on nothing being leaked. It would be a private visit, so no business of anyone else.

LadyJaneGrey18 · 14/07/2025 10:56

Actually phone calls and video links can be recorded. I wonder if that’s the need for a face to face conversation.

Conversations on balconies can be picked up by recording equipment.

What? He is the Patron, as his predecessors were, and as he is of other organisations. He doesn't own it.

So can face to face conversations if someone has a device, LadyJaneGrey, and I certainly wouldn't put that past anyone working on H&Ms' instructions

Just come across this thread and seen this. Could you link to the official quote from Charles saying this about his son because I can't imagine him putting this out as it's not a very nice thing to say and I thought he would be above that sort of thing.
If he did say this, it's very hurtful.
