I’m somewhat fascinated by the instagram following of Kate’s former stylist and personal assistant of 15 years.

Understandable to monitor fashion blogs like whatmeghanwore but what’s the interest in Heather Dorak or Daniel Martin?

She even followed Meghan and asever before hastily unfollowing - why hide now?

Perhaps part of her new luxury fashion consultancy is keeping tabs on in-laws friends and associates.

Kates style clearly got more relaxed /fashionable after Meghan arrived - the bitchy interpretation is Kate felt she had to compete. The more generous is that Kate felt when she married in, she had to wrap herself in an older, dated style, and Meghan let her see it was ok to wear more what she fancied. It might be a bit of both. It’s hardly surprising that two middle aged wealthy women have similar clothing styles.

it does make sense that someone styling Kate would stalk Meghans inner circle- if Kate is seen wearing exactly the same thing it would be a bit embarrassing, but as Meghan doesn’t do many public engagements, details of what Meghan’s wearing are more likely to be gathered from the socials of her friends/staff/contacts/own business posts. If they fuck up and put Kate in something Meghan was seen wearing the week before, the Daily Mail would run so many stories about it. Not worth the risk.

However, yes embarrassing to be so obvious about it when the official line is an aloofness about the Sussexes. A fake account to monitor would have been much more sensible.

Kate seems like someone who is anxious to play by the rules (I recognize a fellow rules follower) so I think she took to heart all those little rules and Queen’s preferences for things like no colored nail polish, nude tights, no pant suits etc.

The Queen sent her own dresser Angela Kelly on Kate’s first big overseas tour to mentor her so it’s not surprising that she didn’t do anything too adventurous being supervised by the woman who was used to dressing an 80 year old Queen.

I think Meghan didn’t care much about the protocol and other little rules and was having more fun dressing how she pleased and it gave Kate the confidence to do more if that too.

I imagine with the discord we now know Meghan and Harry were causing behind the scenes that the Queen, Charles and senior courtiers were more grateful than ever that Kate was so low drama that it put her in a more powerful position to just say - screw it I’m doing my own thing now.

I'm no fashionista, god knows, but those posters saying Kate's style is frumpy and boring, what exactly would you like her to wear?

She always looks elegant and/or appropriately dressed, on official functions she appears immaculately presented. High fashion often looks as if the clothes are wearing the wearer, unlike classic styles, which are classic for a reason.

I'm sure something slit down to the navel and slit up to the genital area. In keeping with celebrity fashions and the Met Gala red carpet. Tacky Brave and stunning.

It's absolutely bonkers to me that anyone was stalking Natasha Archer's instagram account and who it follows when she hasn't even published one post yet.

And nearly every one of those Kate's copying Meghan articles is easily debunked by finding earlier pictures showing Kate already having worn that style, colour, brand etc.

I do think she got a bit more confident and relaxed after Meghan appeared on the scene but that's probably more to do with realising she had a lot more leeway that she thought she did before.

Well I'm not that harsh but I enjoy Queen Maxima's style, it's colourful and fun. Queen Letizia and Mary of Denmark are elegant but often have a little edge. Kate dresses quite a bit older than them/her age but as I said it's ok for her to not to be into fashion.

munchingmunch · 11/07/2025 18:50

I really liked Kate's recent Dior outfit, the proportions really suited her.

I think it’s perfectly obvious that Meghan follows what the British Royal family are up to. She pops up often enough with some activity to coincide with theirs!

But Meghan is definitely bad!🤭

And if it was the other way round and it was Meghans stylist who was found to have been following Kates stylist and other related ppl what woukd your response be? This? Or ur usual ripping her apart. Yes we all know tou wild be here ceiricisng her and talking hwondesperate she is to copy Kate and how she is obsessed with her.

Spectre…are you OK?

I think it’s been a nice discussion. Some don’t see the issue with it and a few do.

Shes unfollowed nearly all of them apart from Meghan’s hair stylist and friend Abigail.

Meghan has …a friend?

I thought Catherine is still too old fashioned according to the regular Kate haters on this board?

I think her style has improved but she is still
quite old fashioned. Both things can be true. I'm not a hater, it's just critiquing clothes. Kate doesn't seem that interested in fashion which is her prerogative.

Catherine is in a unique situation. She dresses for the role she’s in - what you see are her work clothes. What you see with Meghan is all her personal choice.

On state occasions and official visits she needs to look formal and absolutely NOT attention-grabbing. Maybe this is interpreted by some as boring - but that’s sort of how it’s meant to be. For less formal duties she does wear similarly relaxed clothes.

I think she does fine.

Which is why I mentioned other Royals and not Meghan....

I've just had a look at some of Queen Maxima's outfits. Oh, my lord. I refer you to my comment above 'High fashion often looks as if the clothes are wearing the wearer,'

I don't think you know what the term high fashion means?

Sunnyfox · 11/07/2025 20:27

CoffeeCantata · 11/07/2025 10:30

Well no - for the reasons I gave above. I don’t know if you go on Celebitchy, or are otherwise au fait with the fantasies of the Sussex Squad, but that crowd are absolutely OBSESSED with the idea that Catherine copies everything M does - hair, clothes, makeup. If I were this lady I’d see it as part of my job to avoid giving them any fuel.

People can at least admit that Kate noticeably changed her style and began copying Meghan, it’s not delusional to point that out. The fact that Kate’s staff was following Meghan’s close friends and inner circle isn’t a good look. It show they weren’t just watching her, they were actively surveilling her while replicating her style. Meghan would wear something, and a week later Kate would appear in nearly the same outfit. That’s not coincidence, no other celebrity do that in this extent.

Some might argue Natasha, the stylist, was trolling Kate by copying Meghan, but that theory falls apart when you realize she unfollowed Meghan and her circle right after leaving the palace. That timing makes it clear: this wasn’t personal style inspiration, it was institutional behavior, copying Meghan while she was being attacked, then praising Kate for it and effectively trying to erase Meghan’s influence.
Hopefully, with a new and more creative stylist, Kate can finally show her own identity. Maybe this will be the wake-up call she needs.

Did you clutch your pearls?! 😆

She's a lot older than me but as I said I like that she uses colour and has fun. I think she looks great. But you can't have good taste without bad taste 😜

Nagginthenag · 11/07/2025 20:31

C'mon, now - absolutely no pearl clutching whatsoever

Why would Kate copy Meghan? She's a completely different body shape, knows what she looks great in - or is it because she wears a trouser suit sometimes?

But this didnt happened, right? Meghan's friends and associates didnt follow Kate friends back. The fact is that Kate closest staff was stalking not only Meghan but her associates that are private people

Nagginthenag · 11/07/2025 20:41

Can't be very private if they have social media accounts though? I'm guessing they want people to follow them.

But it makes no sense!

Can you explain why you think Catherine would want to copy Meghan? Meghan’s life is literally thousands of miles away from C’s. This is a tenet of the SS’s religion - but it baffles me. Why on earth would C wish to even think of Meghan after what she did, let alone copy her.

Meghan’s style isn’t appropriate for C’s line of work either….they live completely different lives.

It’s totally bonkers on every level. But the SS cling to this idea like an article of faith.

I don’t know, maybe someone should ask Kate and her staff, like Natasha, why they were following Meghan and copying her outfits. It really doesn’t make much sense unless it was about insecurity or chasing headlines.

Nagginthenag · 11/07/2025 20:57

Can you give some examples of Kate copying Meghan’s outfits? And just because Kate wears a trouser suit doesn't mean she's 'copying Meghan', it means she looks great in a trouser suit, so chooses to wear them.
