As per the DM, we are told Meg is using Fairwinds Estate winery for her rose. Sounds nice.
But a Reddit user has discovered, that Fairwinds winery is just a brand under the umbrella of Wine gift shop. They do corporate gifts and print on demand. Oh Meg, as ever

This is what I mean. It's a cult. Saint worship. The 'products' almost have the status of holy relics, not something so mundane as watery gloop to put on bread.

As I keep saying, 'As Ever' isn't a business. It's an ego trip. It's basically exploiting all those adoring fans, not genuinely trying to appeal to a broader public.

Anything to do with Royalty has always had a cultish element- from buying expensive jam to waiting 24 hours on the pavement for a 20 second glimpse of the Queen. It’s not a very long time historically since people believed touching the King’s cloak was curative. And nobody who lived through the Diana madness can possibly believe it was rational.

So you're saying a relatively small group of American women are so obsessed with the British royal family that they are overspending on generic white labelled 'spread' just because it's associated with someone who was briefly a working royal over 5 years ago?

I’m not very good at investigation but that username on eBay looks extremely familiar!!!

It’s been up for a couple of days, so no

But a couple have been added for $ 15, $20

Harry's still working out how to use Ebay, give him a chance.

Weepixie · 01/07/2025 15:19

So how many of the buyers are going to be the first to receive it? I thought only one person could be the first.

TheAutumnCrow · 01/07/2025 15:20

RandyRedHumpback · 01/07/2025 14:41

Do you know how to use the internet? It's called eBay.

She's very young/old, apparently.

jeffgoldblum · 01/07/2025 14:48

I admit to being a stick in the mud but I don’t really condone day drinking unless there’s a reason.

It gets you out of being everybody else's unpaid chauffeur.

🤣 that would count as a reason!

Seems even her cult leader number one fan didn't manage to get her paws on any 'spread'.

Does it even exist? Have any wonkily labelled jars been spotted in the wild?

I long for the sort of day where not getting a pot of apricot jam would send me into a flat spin.

Kaiser, touch some grass (it is hilarious though)

Well, I can’t think of any other explanation!

One of the As Ever eBay sellers is called KateKack. Another with the prefix, Eliza. 🤔

Vespanest · 01/07/2025 15:37

There a difference in an event such as going to the palace or lining the mall than purchasing an item. I've spent some very frustrating hours getting Taylor Swift, cold play and Olivia Rodrigo tickets for my children but I'd draw the line at pressing refresh for hours for branded products. All drop shipping is a cult mentality, the FOMO, a status in an invisible world. A moment of success of beating others to a product you'd all walk past in a shop. Basically a badge of honour

I’m almost certain that that name in the screenshot has been shown before and linked to Meghan!
and I’m not very observant so I’m sure some clever soul on sm will pick it up.

My eBay search resulted in 11 items being sold by 3 sellers , no one called Katekack. Strange name isn't it 🤨

RandyRedHumpback · 01/07/2025 15:40

I know loads of (not particularly royal fan) people who lined up to see QEII in state. They wanted to be part of an historical event. Nothing cultish about them.

Agree. People wanting to see the monarch is more about patriotism and / or the occasion for them rather than the cult of following an individual member of the Royal Family. Granted there will always be some who follow one particular member but I don’t think that is the case for most. Slavishly trying to buy limited drop merch from one person does come across much more as a cult of personality

That's so strange. They were on there around 45 minutes ago!

Profhilodisaster · 01/07/2025 15:50

It's the mentality of the person who said they didn't even want a refund, they just want Meghan to do well 🙄 A woman who I'm guessing is considerably richer than they are. Do they realise Meghan hasn't got a clue who they are and no doubt doesn't give a shit about them.

Actually, that listing is still there. Just advanced searched As Ever and the name.

I can see 5 sellers, 19 items for sale.

StrawberryWasp · 01/07/2025 15:53

I guess the people who buy royal memorabilia or who camp out for a royal wedding are super fans/ cultish?

But it can be understood as being part of their identity due to patriotism or the history they feel part of.

I just don't understand the devotion to M. And no one ever explains.

I wonder if she represents the victimhood, anti racism, anti establishment, tear everything down culture. They just love that she's making life difficult for people in power?

Yes it's inconsistent because she wants the power and systus herself but I find those enjoying attacking the establishment don't care about such inconsistency in the midst of the glee.

I've cross posted with you. Go into the advanced search function on eBay and pop in As Ever and one of the seller's names. It comes up with more listings. I see 5 sellers and 19 products, including the Kate name.

I think a massive historical event like that is different. I can understand that.

RandyRedHumpback · 01/07/2025 15:57

There's some As Ever NYC clothing listed too - I hope their business is thriving!
