So they are showing faces now, how long until they are including them in everything, showing them fully.
I feel like this is a bit desperate now. It was their last card to play, the children. They’re trying anything now for attention, what do they have left, showing private videos of them after all the criticism about the Wales children being on display.
One thing about them is they always surprise me.

The video would have been put together by a team of communications people - it would not have been a sweet home movie put together by Meghan

No that would be too much to hope for. But in that world paying someone else to express sentiment on your behalf is as good as it gets.

I think that’s right and also maybe dynasty building. That’s why they’ve went out their way to create brand ‘Sussex’. When that actually isn’t their surname.

Brand Sussex can now continue even if Archie doesn’t have heirs to pass the Dukedom on to.

The female line of the Kennedy family often will still use the Kennedy name, use a double barrel name and most certainly pass it on to their kids.

I suspect that’s what they will want Lili to do too, pass on the Sussex name.

It’s all brand building.

I agree. That was a very clear signal given when they called their daughter Princess Lilibet Diana. That was done for a purpose.

CurlewKate · 16/06/2025 11:31

Diana is perfectly understandable. Lilibet’s a stupid name to actually christen a child however you look at it.

RandyRedHumpback · 16/06/2025 11:32

I think there's quite a bit of Netflix doc footage in that video. Not just "cute" home video, but staged scenes.

Stupid, or a deliberate choice for the future?

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, said "enough is not being done" about the harm social media can cause children, "The easiest thing to say is to keep your kids away from social media" to protect them, Harry said.

It is a universal truth that our children are in harms way by what's happening online," Meghan said.

We're just grateful that our kids are too young to be on social media at this point," Harry said Thursday. Harry and Meghan's children, Archie and Lilibet, are 5 and 3.

Those poor kids are going to have some rude shock when they do get their own SM accounts and realise what their parents were up to.

I guess their advice is only for those non-celeb families who don't need to make a living out of clicks, the celebs can do as they want.

Also Meghan (apart from the fact it’s an outright lie - paps are not allowed to show photos of the royal children when being taken to school, and do not):

Earlier in our conversation about her goals for the life she’s creating here, she’d remarked upon how, if Archie were in school in the U.K., she’d never be able to do school pickup and drop-off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures. “Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,

Thanks for posting the quote. All rings a bit hollow now.

AtIusvue · 16/06/2025 11:50

She’s got pretty much the same number of likes for this video that she has for the Disney pics- in just over 12hrs.

So the video that exposes their faces is on course to get big numbers. So we all know what way it’s going.

What absolute nonsense. I sometimes can't work out if it's deliberate lies or they really just have no idea what's going on.

Vespanest · 16/06/2025 12:06

All Harry has got left is the inevitable fly on the wall shows as a viable income stream, I'm not sure if there would be any interest unless it includes the children. It's no longer a rare insight into their children's lives it's a weekly event. They have chosen a path for their children that will require substantial money just by giving them titles and their insistence in remaining royals. They had a choice for their children to have a life of their making with freedoms that Harry claimed was all he wanted, instead of the nepo children life of a prince and princess.

I know it won’t happen but I really wish that an interviewer would challenge the nonsense they both spout.

MaturingCheeseball · 16/06/2025 12:16

I agree that it’s their own fans they need to be wary of. I don’t see a lot of it, but I did spot some weird fan art of the children - they looked like the Midwitch Cuckoos with crowns on.

Stuck in my memory is when there was a grainy long-distance shot of Lili at a holiday resort, and a Fan on here said, “gorgeous, gorgeous girl”. Why in heaven’s name would you say this about a child you hadn’t ever even seen properly? Or about any child come to that (even one’s own!).

Suszieq · 16/06/2025 12:18

The root of racism is still going strong.

Why do you guys dissect every little thing this woman does? You guys are obsessed! Get a grip already…

Anonymous2029 · 16/06/2025 12:21

I thought the risk of having your children’s face on show was that with emerging advanced AI it could be used for CA images? I always assumed that was one of the main reasons people didn’t and therefore sane risk if it’s old photos?

CreationNat1on · 16/06/2025 12:38

Cute video.

Megs next project will be how to sail through perimenopause, she ll be a menopause poster girl, supplements etc.

I’m surprised she’s not already on that bandwagon, though it wouldn’t fit with their ‘young couple’ image I guess.

It's the late Queen's pet name. Fine for loved ones to use in private, but as a child's given name?

HonoriaBulstrode · 16/06/2025 12:59

W&K shared a photo of their kids.

The Wales children are photographed for specific occasions, and crucially, they know they are being photographed and for what purpose.

The Sussex children don't know when anything they might be doing in their daily lives might be filmed and end up on social media years later.

It's an incredibly naff name, as an official name.
Lovely as a nickname, resulting from Princess Margaret's very young pronunciation of Elizabeth.
They've done the equivalent of christening their kid Pompom or Doodles or any other private nickname children all over Britain have.
It's so cringe. I feel very sorry for Lilibet.

Me too. Just call her Lily, or Beth if they didn't want Elizabeth. It's really limiting her privacy because it's so distinctive. Archie is a common name here, possibly in the USA too.

To be fair, the Wales children were photographed long before they were old enough to give consent. And I don’t think there is anything in the Sussex videos that could cause any sort of issue or embarrassment to the children in later life.

I don’t know about that. I would be mortified if a video of me riding a bike with my dad running behind me like John Cleese was posted to social media 😂😂

That’s such a laughable quote because it’s so demonstrably not true. That doesn’t happen with the Wales’ children. There aren’t endless photos of them going to school.

A few years ago I was at a family day out type place and Kate was there with her parents, and all three children. I assume there was some security with them but very unobtrusive. The children were running around playing, Kate was very visible (eg she wasn’t in the corner with a cap pulled down over her face). They were left alone. I mean, I’m sure there were whispers - I certainly turned to DH when I first noticed them and said “is that Prince George coming down that slide???”
But Louis was climbing on a climbing frame with his grandad, and I was helping my DD on the same thing. And they were just playing like any other children. No swarm of people taking pictures or bothering them.
So the idea that Archie and Lily would be overrun by photographers at school drop off every day is just silly.

But M and H are going against everything they said about DC and Social Media. It’s the hypocrisy that bothers people .
I thought the video was nice and - for once- Meghan didn’t make herself the focal point but why say you want privacy for your DC then start plastering them over SM ?
