So they are showing faces now, how long until they are including them in everything, showing them fully.
I feel like this is a bit desperate now. It was their last card to play, the children. They’re trying anything now for attention, what do they have left, showing private videos of them after all the criticism about the Wales children being on display.
One thing about them is they always surprise me.

Is it just me or was Archie featured more in that video? Is it a father and son thing ?

Presumably a father/ son thing

@MrsLeonFarrellif that’s true then they are very stupid.

I'm not sure I'm right, I hope someone will come along with more knowledge

To be fair William and Kate are known for wheeling out the kids to divert bad publicity. Not as much since Kate stepped back since being sick.

Anyway who cares about any of them. They are all little rich kids with rich parents who don’t know or care about our existence. And I don’t care enough to continue contributing either to be honest.

The video was cute, The way it was filmed/edited reminded me of an old tv series called The Wonder Years. The kids at Trooping looked cute too. That’s the extent of my interest in the ‘royal’ family’.

Have they?

Excuse me?

You had quite the reaction to the word ‘cute’ ….a full on rant. Think you should be questioning yourself.

ShesTheAlbatross · 16/06/2025 09:23

It’s a sweet video that is no different to what plenty of other people do (although the filter hurts my eyes). Bit twee for my liking but I am in general a cynical grump.

I do find the people defending them funny though
“it’s so great that they don’t show their kids”
then when they do
”well it’s only the back of their head/side of their face. They’re not showing their whole face!”
then
”yes it’s their whole face, but from a while ago!”

So YOU call someone a troll for not agreeing with you and then ask if they are quite alright in the head? This is a question you really should be asking yourself.

Nagginthenag · 16/06/2025 09:30

'To be fair William and Kate are known for wheeling out the kids to divert bad publicity.'

Nope. They don't 'wheel the kids out', they publish photos on birthdays/first day of school, and days like father's day, and if the children take part in events like Trooping the Colour. When have they ever been used as a diversion? They haven't, obviously.

William and Catherine don't wheel out their children as a diversion. I can't pretty much give a list of when we will see them in a year:

For their individual birthdays - photos
For Mothers and Fathers Day posts on Instagram
At Trooping the Colour
Often at the Easter Service in Windsor (not this year)
At Wimbledon, not all three so far
At Together at Christmas
At Sandringham on Christmas Day

Plus sometimes at special events like (taking the last few years)
Funerals
Coronations
VE day
National football or rugby matches when their parents are acting as patrons
If they start a new school, not this year.
Taylor Swift, can't categorise that, so some one offs

Apart from Taylor everything is an official event or part of their parents duties. We don't even see them on the first day of their holiday as we used to with William and Harry.

Let me break this down. The use of an English word was questioned.

Actually I can’t be arsed. Any thread with Harry and Meghan becomes a draw for nutty posters.

I am not going to be drawn in any further. Enjoy your ranting about other people’s little children ladies. Hope it makes your day!

Do you have any examples of this? Afaik photos of the children only appear on special occasions, such as birthdays or mothers/ Father’s Day or State occasions / sports events they have attended with their parents. Not sure how this is to fend off bad publicity 🤷‍♀️

Well, well, well who would have thought they would resort to showing the children’s faces? Desperate times and all that .

Mylovelygreendress · 16/06/2025 09:36

Is “ wheel out” the new “ trot out”?

I didn't think they would and disagreed with other posters about it. I was wrong but I really wish I'd been right.

AtIusvue · 16/06/2025 09:38

They are a hop skip and a jump from showing the kids faces. This is June. So in the 6 months she’s had her insta back- she’s already revealing kids face pics (older ones) ….give her another 6 months and she will def have Lili’s face showing.

From the days of wheeling out old people eg. Soviet Presidents, to prove they weren't dead.
I associate "trotting out" with verbal communications. "The same old line being trotted out" etc.

Mylovelygreendress · 16/06/2025 09:42

Did anyone seriously think they wouldn’t start using their DC for publicity?
Both of them are utter hypocrites.

CurlewKate · 16/06/2025 09:48

Would you be able to recognise the children if you met them today from those videos? I wouldn’t!

I recognised a kid DD went to nursery with the other day. She’s 16. I don’t think showing toddler pics saves you from being recognised.

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, said "enough is not being done" about the harm social media can cause children, "The easiest thing to say is to keep your kids away from social media" to protect them, Harry said.

It is a universal truth that our children are in harms way by what's happening online," Meghan said.

We're just grateful that our kids are too young to be on social media at this point," Harry said Thursday. Harry and Meghan's children, Archie and Lilibet, are 5 and 3.

Those poor kids are going to have some rude shock when they do get their own SM accounts and realise what their parents were up to.

I guess their advice is only for those non-celeb families who don't need to make a living out of clicks, the celebs can do as they want.

CurlewKate · 16/06/2025 09:48

Probably not but I think this is yet another example of how the Sussexes have got “hair splitting” down to a fine art. We get things like with the racism claims on OW them saying that they never actually said anyone was racist (although there was only one obvious interpretation). So now we have “ah but these are old photos of the children so you can’t tell what they look like now”. But that isn’t really the point, is it? It is still posting photos of their children (who may well not be happy about this when they are older, as is their right) and breaching their privacy. They may be “cute” videos and it may be difficult to recognise them as they are now but it is still hypocritical of them to put their children on social media if it is the great source of evil they have claimed it to be

Thedom · 16/06/2025 10:10

It is a lovely video, but it's soooo long, I got fed up halfway through. Was Meghan going for the feature length movie.

I think Archie being featured more in this video is probably a clapback to the online commentary after the Disney video about him possibly being ND. Also, I think if Lilibet really looked like the Spencers (i.e. Diana) there would be photos of her all over the place.

Vespanest · 16/06/2025 10:15

The dangers are more than recognising the children if you walk past them. Every time they post their children's name trend. The not showing of their faces is causing more speculation than showing them. This is self inflicted speculation, removing them from the royal pageantry gave them the opportunity of privacy and avoid social media speculation. They have choosen to include them to world of a social media influencer.

slinkiemalinkiey · 16/06/2025 10:17

That's what I was thinking @Thedom but more to the effect of Lili being the favourite.
