H&M Fathers Day video

So they are showing faces now, how long until they are including them in everything, showing them fully.
I feel like this is a bit desperate now. It was their last card to play, the children. They’re trying anything now for attention, what do they have left, showing private videos of them after all the criticism about the Wales children being on display.
One thing about them is they always surprise me.

I noticed that too. So privacy means just not showing what their faces look like right now….but happy to share their childhood memories with strangers and their faces from when they were younger.

MrsLeonFarrell · 16/06/2025 08:51

The video was out of focus, like when a magazine gets printed with one colour off centre, but I agree that it included full faces and I'm sure there is tech out there to remove the filter.

It's their choice and it's how most influencers work on Instagram. It just jars with all their anti press and social media comments.

Sunnyevenings · 16/06/2025 08:53

The videos of their kids are years old. The photos of the children when older are of their backs. Presumably for their own security.

I thought it was a nice video.

Were the Wales kids critiqued? I didn’t realise. I saw the usual comments about George being too serious and Louis being the cheeky one which I completely disregard as quite frankly, who cares about the personalities of children unless they are the parents of those children.

JSMill · 16/06/2025 08:53

They are showing full faces just when they were younger. I guarantee they will soon be showing pictures of them now with full faces.

It's hard to avoid the fact that they share far more about their children's private lives than any other members of the Royal family.

threesocksmorgan · 16/06/2025 08:55

whats the big deal? W&K shared a photo of their kids.
I really don't get the angst .

It is a nice video. I found the filter a bit difficult but that is to do with my eyes.

My comments aren't about what is a nice video but rather about the hypocrisy of gradually showing more and more of their children's faces whilst lecturing others about the evils of social media.

Maybe hold off complaining until they have actually done what you are already complaining about ie show photos of their kid’s faves as they look today.

I don’t get the angst. They like social media. Their main issue was security. I don’t know if they have relaxed and aren’t anxious new parents anymore.

Either way it’s a cute video to scroll by.

AtIusvue · 16/06/2025 09:04

I get if they want to a video, fine. Have the kids playing with Harry in the garden for Father’s Day or do a silly dance. Great

Why are they releasing such intimate childhood memories? They shouldn’t be sharing that.

Also, why are there no videos of Archie and Lili playing together, playing with the dogs. Everything is so ….individual.

AtIusvue · 16/06/2025 09:05

That word cute is appearing again…..

PomeloOud · 16/06/2025 09:06

I thought it was sweet. 🤷‍♀️

Bickybics · 16/06/2025 09:09

One of Harry’s reasons for not wanting the children to grow up in the U.K. was their lack of privacy and they would be photographed going to school every day (not true).
They live in a state that protects their privacy. Privacy isn’t just about photographs though, it’s talking about them, sharing videos of them, even without showing their faces fully. I think they’ve crossed a line. Plenty of celebs now do not show their children at all, they’re doing it for a reason, probably financial. Everything now seems to be about making money.

W&K have never bleated in about the evils of social media, the perceived invasion of privacy nor previously shown cryptic teasers of the hands, feet and backs of their children’s heads etc though

They don't like social media. They are famous for thinking it is harmful. That is what I'm complaining about, releasing private childhood memories on a platform they are on record as saying harms children. I also think it's disingenuous to say they are maintaining privacy by only releasing old full face images. Aging software is a real thing and I would bet good money someone out there will be releasing aged up images soon.

William and Catherine release carefully posed photos or videos. Not photos of their children in the bath or in private moments.

This is Harry and Meghan's choice and they have every right to make it and use to children's images for clicks and building followers. But they can't then be expected to be taken seriously when they talk about protecting children from social media.

I used it? Is there something wrong with it? It’s a term I use to describe other people’s children because it sounds weird to say if they are good looking, unkind to say if they are not and frankly when I don’t care either way.

Although there was a thread a few months ago from a mum who thought her child was the most beautiful baby ever because strangers who were standing in the same queue told her that her baby was cute. It turns out a great number of us tell strangers their babies are cute and mean nothing by it other than we are making small talk.

I don’t even know why I’m arsed discussing my use of the word with you. Presumably you think I’m American or maybe you think I’m Meghan Markle wasting my time on MN. Or maybe YOU are trolling.

I may be wrong but iirc the California law only protects children of celebrities if their parents don't release photos etc publically.

Thats quite the overreaction from someone that ‘can’t be arsed’

Is it just me or was Archie featured more in that video? Is it a father and son thing ?

Bickybics · 16/06/2025 09:17

@MrsLeonFarrellif that’s true then they are very stupid.

It's exactly what it's always is, the hypocrisy, they didn't want this for their children and yet here we are. Apparent privacy of the children is for the age they are currently their past is up for publication and monetisation. They need to step away from reading the criticism the be past few posts have been to prove something or their critics.

Yes, but most of when he was much much younger….which is weird. She can’t keep posting them forever.

Most people post up to date pictures of their family. Not a collage of old photos/videos. He’s 6 now but you wouldn’t know it.

Nagginthenag · 16/06/2025 09:20

It is a nice little montage. And just Harry and the kids - maybe they've finally started to listen to their PR.

But they do need to quit talking about the evils of social media if they're going to start pushing the kids on it.

To be fair William and Kate are known for wheeling out the kids to divert bad publicity. Not as much since Kate stepped back since being sick.

Anyway who cares about any of them. They are all little rich kids with rich parents who don’t know or care about our existence. And I don’t care enough to continue contributing either to be honest.

The video was cute, The way it was filmed/edited reminded me of an old tv series called The Wonder Years. The kids at Trooping looked cute too. That’s the extent of my interest in the ‘royal’ family’.
