So they are showing faces now, how long until they are including them in everything, showing them fully.
I feel like this is a bit desperate now. It was their last card to play, the children. They’re trying anything now for attention, what do they have left, showing private videos of them after all the criticism about the Wales children being on display.
One thing about them is they always surprise me.

This precisely. It is such an insult to the real female founders who have made family sacrifices to start their businesses.

I agree. She is putting herself on a level with women who have had to start from scratch and put the hours in, deal with knock backs and lack of money. She has absolutely no idea, and it's extraordinary the claims she makes for herself

Im not even sure if she gets much of a percentage. The whole thing is operated by Snow Commerce. I think she might get an upfront fee for licensing or salaried role- so she has no real skin in the game. Prob what 2 million a year or something? Then she will get bonus payments if they meet certain targets or a small slice of the profits, that may increase as the years go on.

The thing is owned by Snow commerce, a fandom merch site.

Until you posted that image had no idea that she is just the face of the products. How can she claim to found something which is wholly the responsibility of a third party? It's like saying that the model who was the face of a perfume founded it.

Weepixie · 21/06/2025 07:56

I wonder how long it will take Meghans dafter fans to say her feet were dirty because she’d been stomping in buckets of grapes in her outhouse.

Vespanest · 21/06/2025 07:58

It was what is weird about Emma doing the post pod cast endorsement. Meghan waffled to Emma face about her products not being drop shops. You can't claim to be authentic when you can't even be honest about your marketing techniques. Everyone knows it even the supporters, it's why the hype themselves up to the shop going live. Meghan this time even did the promo of "sprinkles, buy now or lose out" to her fan base during the shop. The first time round there may have been an underestimate. The FOMO limited drop mentality can be seen on social media, I can see adults drawn into buying fancy teas and jams but excitement over pancake mix that is fan cult mentality. The reason of drop shop denial is that sellers whilst benefiting from the psychology don't want to admit they use psychology to rush consumers to buy and often to consumers who are using credit.

A fandom merch site? Good grief, so much for "female founder".

There’s a very strange article in this morning’s MailOnline by Alison Boshoff about Harry & Meghan, and a bit of ancient history recounted (well, 8 years ago!) due to something she said to Emma Grede.

I’ve archived it below, so no need to pay-per-view. (As if!)

On the surface it’s not entirely unsympathetic, but it’s quite a canny piece in the sense it acts a reminder of all H&M grievances and their own roles in the evolution(s) of said gripes and dramas. It subtly invites thoughts on matters such as bullying and H&M’s failure to sue.

I'm not sure anyone was in doubt about what Meghan was talking about to Emma Grede. It always comes back to the same thing, that the palace didn't protect her against negative press and she's never, ever, ever, ever, been anything less than practically perfect in every way.

Bontonbonbon · 21/06/2025 08:16

She is essentially milking her fans for money. And what’s worse is that she is lying about it. Lots of celebs do this but most of them don’t lie about what it being done. The fakeness is what makes people dislike her.

Maybe if she stopped lying for a moment she would have a chance at a half decent career.

Thedom · 21/06/2025 08:22

So Netflix have a huge team managing the brand, and Snow Commerce manage the production and supply chain.

Someone is doing her a massive favour by allowing her to put her name to the products and run an instagram page.. The As Ever insta following is dire, so even that is unsuccessful. Founder is some reach.

Can’t wait for a deep dive investigation on what a sham the Asever business is, because you can be sure someone will get into the nitty gritty of it, she won’t always be protected by the big guns in Hollywood, Tyler Perry off the roster now, rumours about Oprah, Ted Sarandos trying to recover from his massive blunder and trying to save face.

By the way, Emma Grede is now reoresented by WME, coincidence or what !!!! Explains why people who follow her are confused by her breaking her neck putting a spin on Meghan Markle.

Yes, Meghans feet are filthy in the photo, can’t believe there are posters who take such offence and appear personally hurt by that being pointed out.

slinkiemalinkiey · 21/06/2025 08:24

Meghan is really the best at growing all this stuff isn't she? It's amazing ... She's out there picking the apricots for the spread to send to you ...

I honestly don’t know.

Thing is, these Hollywood types all have these different variation of deals. Emma grede will have known all this when she interviewed Meghan. Yet she approached it as Meg was creating this start up and running the show. All playing into the allusion that Meg is a female founder.

The prices are so inflated for the product you get at the end. It seems really unfair to charge fans so much, only fans or journalists would pay inflated prices for pancake mix.

Yes, but they're the ones who are going to pay, so they're the ones who get exploited.

RandyRedHumpback · 21/06/2025 08:29

It's a wonder why all these women who did put in the hard yards are willing to engage with MM as an equal in business development on these podcasts. What are these women (already massively wealthy and well known) getting out of it? I doubt it's as simple as friendship. Hard nosed business people don't want to damage their brand by getting "Markled". And if MM is lying about them about her business and using them to give a false impression to the world, then that's hardly an act of friendship.

And nobody challenging her on things that are right in front of our faces - in particular, Netflix staying well out of As Ever, when they are supposedly her "partner" (never a mention of the actual partner company, Snow, who do not have a good reputation at all). Yesterday Netflix wasn't promoting Meghan, as you would expect a "partner" to do for a second, much anticipated product drop. Instead they were promoting King Charles for a documentary Idris Elba* is making about him, not to be screened for another 14 months.

*Idris was able to break into acting through a Prince's Trust grant: one good reason for God to bless the King - we'd never have had Stringer Bell and Luther!

That's another odd thing that Emma Grede didn't pick up on in the interview. Meghan was very proud of her "prince point" and not wanting to exclude ordinary fans. Well that would be all well and good if you are selling a luxury product that you are selling cheaper than the high street would offer. That's very much the promotional style of TV sellers, QVC, TV jewellery channels and the like. She's doing the opposite though. Flogging bargain basement products that are no better, and probably far worse than, you'd find on supermarket shelves and sticking an enormous mark up on them. It doesn't matter that it comes in under $20, when the actual product is utter shite worth dimes and cents at most.

Edit: Prince point? PRICE point! She's probably very proud of her prince point too 😂

Exactly.

What new business owner, that is launching to the world wide media- manages to do all this from home?

She put out a video yesterday….from the garden. Her photos for the site….from the garden. Everything for this business, the insta pics and videos are taken at home.

Emma grede talks about how she doesn’t take her kids to school in the morning. She pays someone to do it because she doesn’t have time. She even jokes that her and her husband travel in separate cars to the office they both work at because her work is separate from his and she needs to be able to get in with her work. That’s reality

She does breakfast every morning, pick ups, drop off, volunteers for the kindergarten field trips, volunteers to serve lunches at school, has lunch with Harry everyday when break for meetings, off to Disneyland, off to Mexico, the kids are down at 7pm and she relaxes by having a glass of wine and making the kids lunch boxes.

That’s not possible to run businesses (As ever, Archewell productions etc) and do everything at home.

She’s faking it. Just be honest. She has some form of fancy brand endorsement, that allows to make money and remain at home. That’s fine but be honest.

But by pretending she does it all, it undermines female business owners who have to struggle to make it all work and probably feel that they are failing.

I think it’s why when asked is she worried about failing by Emma- she said she isn’t. Well, that’s true. She’s got nothing to lose, no invested money, no invested time. She gets a cheque regardless, there’s no jeopardy involved on her end.

It’s a very odd photo, I can’t say this in a gentle way but it looks like someone is about to hang them selves. I found it really unsettling.

I thought exactly the same thing but thought that I would be jumped on if I said anything .
I really don’t see the point in that photo . Is it to make us wonder what she is doing or is she just very proud of her feet and ankles ?
Whatever , it is a bit disturbing in my opinion .

Some people will never have enough to satisfy them, however well off they are. It's sad for them, and even more so for the people around them they hurt.

It was only the other day when for some reason these two came up in conversation

'You could give them everything-the moon on a stick, every pound note in the world and they'd still moan that they didn't get the 2p that was stuck behind someone's sofa'

It's very true

FenellaFeldman · 21/06/2025 08:45

It's because she has to keep putting photos of herself out there. Wearing a white dress, walking through the sea, on a swing, whatever. These are very carefully edited and photoshopped images for self promotion.

Yeah you’re right her percentage may be much lower. I have no idea how much Snow would charge.

I still believe it’s “her” business, in as far as I think she’s outsourced all of the ecommerce, production and fulfilment entirely to Snow but I don’t think there’s anyone else calling the shots while she’s just a figure head. I think the business would be better run if so! And I don’t believe for a second she’s getting an up front fee - if she was getting $2m a year, who’s paying it? The business won’t even turn that over in revenue, let alone profit.

She is playing at being a founder in the sense that she’s not building something from the ground up, she’s just paying another company to sort everything out for her, but I don’t think someone else “owns” the business.

I do find it funny that she bangs on about her partnership with Netflix - who have done nothing to promote the business as far as I can tell - and never even mentioned Snow Commerce who are the ones with their names all over the website.

on a side note, I also found the “omg the flower sprinkles are nearly sold out guys quick hurry” video she did quite amusing, when it was 2 hours post launch and they didn’t sell out for another 2 hours. Obviously a bit of desperation to drive a bit more demand as things hadn’t sold as quickly as expected.

Bontonbonbon · 21/06/2025 08:50

They aren’t all that carefully edited. They are ‘influencer’ bad. Who ever is taking these videos and photos is not a professional. It is actually extremely difficult to get these things right. She’s just not trying. Because she obviously feels like everything should just fall into her lap!

RandyRedHumpback · 21/06/2025 08:51

I assume we are supposed to believe she is stood on a chair picking the apricots for her jam. I don't think apricots are ripe yet. And exactly how many is she picking herself and cooking herself for the product she's selling? Um, zero.

LaMarschallin · 21/06/2025 08:54

I thought the whole point of the standing-on-a-stool photo was to show her feet being authentically dirty. You know, the whole Earth mother, wandering barefoot in in her fecund garden etc etc
I assumed that's why it concentrated on her heels particularly.
It's been suggested on here that people who aren't H&M fans should go out and touch the grass instead of posting on the internet*, so there's Meghan modelling barefoot grass touching. I'm sure she had an expensive pedicure afterwards to return her tootsies to Cali perfection.

*Just a shame they encourage people to stop posting on the internet by...err...posting on the internet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Vespanest · 21/06/2025 08:58

The benefits of the limited drop is that the overheads are only prior and during the drop and shipping. What she loses is production costs of lower ordering she gains in the reduced overheads. I have no idea what 80 staff at Netflix are doing unless this is more of the disingenuous waffling and these include WLM workforce.
