So they are showing faces now, how long until they are including them in everything, showing them fully.
I feel like this is a bit desperate now. It was their last card to play, the children. They’re trying anything now for attention, what do they have left, showing private videos of them after all the criticism about the Wales children being on display.
One thing about them is they always surprise me.

It’s Emma gredes Youtube page that has the comments

I think Meg still has her comments switched off on her SM

Ah - sorry, Atlusvue, my mistake and I see what you mean now

Ohpleeeease · 18/06/2025 18:17

It must take a lot of anti feeling for people to bother to dislike a video. I have to be reminded to like videos I’m actually enjoying!

Thedom · 18/06/2025 18:34

wow, those comments. Spot on and so articulate.

TheNeedyKhakiPanda · 18/06/2025 19:21

I can still see dislikes, they are at 11 thousand now.

Vespanest · 18/06/2025 19:22

The likes versus the dislikes compared to the noise created on X shows the power a smallish group can give the impression of a strong following. The squad prides themselves on going to bat for Meghan and yet can’t manage to press a like button or flood the comments. Even on Emma’s instagram it’s pretty one sided. Is there really thousands if not tens of thousands ready to buy honey. The likes and dislikes ratio appears to have stayed constant. Roughly one third likes and and two thirds dislikes. It’s not a stretch to assume a mirroring of viewing stats.

RandyRedHumpback · 18/06/2025 20:45

I'm looking at 2 different devices. One shows the dislikes and the other doesn't. Confused.

CathyorClaire · 18/06/2025 20:52

Haven't caught up yet but I see there's a bit of controversy about the use of 'Sugar'?

Back in the day it was a soft substitute for those whose real meaning was 'shit'.

But I don't suppose this is in any way relevant 😈

slinkiemalinkiey · 18/06/2025 20:58

Meg is too much of a coward to ever let anyone comment on her stuff.

I will admit to thumb downing a video if it has bad AI narration, as they’re the worst.

TheAutumnCrow · 18/06/2025 21:09

I’ve just watched that without sound, and the facial expressions are uncanny. It’s quite brilliant impersonation satire.

Mike Yarwood always used to say you have to get the face right to get the voice right. (Or was that the other fella..?)

This guy hs done a few piss tales of Meghan. The breakfast one is good too.

This popped up on my twitter.
Uncanny!

I see I have missed a whole language lecture unit today.

A quick google shows that calling people "sugary" has been in usage in Britain since the 1590s.

I know that in the 1960s my grandmother used to refer to people "being a bit sugary" to refer to people who were excessively sweet and gushing in a way that was insincere or cloying.

Sugary - Etymology, Origin & Meaning

Originating in the 1590s from "sugar" + "-y," sugarly means resembling sugar, often implying excessive sweetness or deceitfulness.

Aren't they just!

It took me a long time to find the like button, I’ve accidentally clicked the dislike one before now but never been brave enough to use it in anger. It might feel quite empowering.

StartupRepair · 19/06/2025 00:10

I used to post on royal dish back in the day. Lots of Danes and Australian posters with a focus on the Danish royals. Mary's fans were always referred to as sugars and those who didn't like her were called bashers. There was a Mary fan board always referred to as the 'sugar board'.

MrsLeonFarrell · 19/06/2025 06:30

This morning The Daily Mail have an article where a source (aka Harry I'm guessing) is claiming that the reason Harry has changed his mind and allowed photos of the children to be posted online is to show the King what he is missing by refusing to talk to Harry. It's a desperate attempt to get his father to talk to him.

Apparently.

Whatever the truth of that it appears the Sussexes are still reading social media, still feel the need to respond to criticism and that Harry is still blaming everyone but himself for the consequences of his own actions.

And he has learnt nothing from that interview he gave recently.

FenellaFeldman · 19/06/2025 06:59

@MrsLeonFarrell that's just awful. Imagine trying to blackmail someone like that. Harry took the children away from his father. Not the other way round.
Harry is a nasty, vindictive person. He would even weoponise his children. He is shameless.

Also, typical of Harry to give this information to the Daily Mail, the new tabloid of choice. Such hypocrisy.

Uricon2 · 18/06/2025 15:10

@jeffgoldblum and there was me wondering if you wouldn't mind telling Sam Neill that I wuv him. I'm gutted I tell you, gutted!😂

What have I scrolled into. Agree with @BemusedAmerican that the Sussex Squad embracing use of the initials is disturbing. When you work for a local government department with the same abbreviation you try never to use it (although it can get used at you)

ETA Hopefully the ruins of a Roman town in Shropshire won't mind me using their shortened name.

Edited

@Uricon2 You have upset me immensely. However it's nothing to do with the RF, and I am NOT derailing.

As an Australian tourist who was a great fan of Malcolm Saville in my youth, and then a fan of Roman history, I spent quite a long time over more than a decade trawling around the area near Ludlow. I even drove over Long Mynd which was terrifying to me (but I couldn't turn around) because of bloody Malcom Saville. I thought I had seen all the Roman sites in the area, from the obvious like Chester onwards. I must have visited Wroxeter because I have very clear memories of Much Wenlock and Shrewsbury, but have drawn a complete blank.

I am very saddened.

Does anyone remember Malcom Saville? He also made me visit Rye, Winchelsea and the surrounding areas. Yes, mentally forced me.

Don't get me started on Norah Lofts.

JustNavy · 19/06/2025 07:09

The complaints about Meghan closing her comment section by people who don’t like her will never not be funny (and tbh pathetic). It reeks of ‘why won’t she let us abuse her on her own page?’
Is every other tabloid, magazine, mumsnet comment section not enough for these people?

If you self promote, if you are controversial, if you chase the tabloid headlines, people will criticise.

It isn’t “her own page”, it’s a vehicle for self promotion. The algorithms generated by views and comments influence how her content is pushed at other people who haven’t chosen to see it. She can’t have it both ways.
