Wish I could go back and find all those posters who predicted a Kardashian-esqe social media blitz at some point in H&M's future, wonder where are all the posters who we're so affronted by the very idea of that.

People magazine and all, the uber celeb magazine.

I guess needs must with the downfall of her business efforts, \oh look, here are my kids whose privacy we have decided to forego for the greater good of taking the heat off what a crap business woman I am'.

But you can't possibly know what security threats he or anyone else faces. None of us can. But simply being the son of a King does not in itself mean he requires millions of pounds worth of security a year.

I don’t care whether he pays for it himself or not

I care. He has no public role and chose to live as a private citizen in another country. If he is not the one funding his own security, then who should be?

He DOES GET security in the Uk, he just has to give notice fgs.

and I care too, as a Uk taxpayer- why should we pay for anything else, he chose to leave.

I don't understand the relevance.

There is no relevance.

People who want to keep their families private keep their families private.

People who don't, don't.

Other people who think faces can be safely covered by emojis are likely to be underestimating software available. That issue is not 'facial recognition software' but rather what use may be made of images of children.

Where's the laughing emoji when you need one ! I take it the honours committee are no longer a bunch of c%nts.

😂😂😂

If parents are worried about this sort of thing, surely the obvious response is to not share photos of their children publicly. At all.

bluegreygreen · 08/06/2025 20:42

I completely agree.

I’m not sure where you have been, but yes, their faces are visible on pictures coming from the Sussexes. Did you miss Meghan and Harry’s christmas card? You also seem to have missed Archie being carried as an older baby by Harry and as toddler by Meghan.

I've only been on Mumsnet and a little smattering of Reddit but I missed this picture of them so thank you for it. Well, they look nice there, but too far away for my eyes to discern any inherited features.
I didn't get a Christmas card from them in 2024 or 2023.

OctopusFriend · 08/06/2025 20:50

There were quite a few pictures of Archie when he was younger. He was filmed in the bath for the Netflix series. The Sussexes issued a picture of Princess Lilibet when it was her 1st birthday, also of her party. At no point on the above occasions were the children's faces obscured. Since then it's been sort of side on/incomplete images.

Also a Chrismas card a few years ago. Notice that the attention is entirely on Lili. Poor Archie looks forgotten, dangling precariously only Harry's knee while they all lavish their attention on the golden child who 'made them a family'.

Much as I deplore the fashion for convincing children they are actually the opposite sex, and physically harming them with drugs and surgeries, I shall laugh myself silly if Lilibet comes out as trans and adopts a male persona at some time in the future. Which isn’t such an unlikely prospect given the number of celebrities with trans children.(Three of the Spice Girls’ children apparently for instance). It will be the ultimate rebellion for her, depriving her mother of her Princess daughter.

IcedPurple · 08/06/2025 21:09

Photo above didn't come out well.

Here's a clearer image.

Lill may not be a princess, but Archie could become a queen!

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 08/06/2025 21:34

Okay this is why I don’t like kids’ private moments being uploaded on to social media (and I will include William putting the kids meeting Taylor Swift on there too seeing as this person has also included that image).

I like to imagine this is a young enthusiastic Royal fan but it’s not much different than walking into your traditional stalker’s basement and finding photos and newspaper clippings stuck to the wall.

It’s very unsettling.

Why on earth would you choose to post this here Serenster?

If you had any true concern for the children then you wouldn’t do that.

Does no one but me see the irony of everyone criticising H&M’s decision to post videos and photos of their dc on-line, and those same people te-posting the images again on sm?

I had never seen the photo on the card before and I am sure I am not alone in that, so you have just exposed the dc to a whole new audience, while criticising H & M for doing the same.

The photo is easily found on the internet. Your faux outrage is just that - faux 😊

Tripthelightfantastical · 08/06/2025 21:51

I’ve seen that card before and so have most people. They put it out there for public consumption.

MaturingCheeseball · 08/06/2025 21:55

Is Meghan going to post something every single day ? It was the birthday pictures, then the twerking, then Disneyland and now splashing in a white dress. It’s too much!

I’m not an Instagrammy person, so is this normal? To post stuff constantly? It must be exhausting, especially if you are then desperately counting followers and likes. It all seems rather last year (or several) too.

I’ve never seen it before because I don’t go searching for such things.

Call it faux outrage if you like. But I am truly surprised by someone posting it here which indicates that their dislike and negativity towards H & M outweighs their genuine concern for these dc.

You can hardly call out H & M for exposing their dc to publicity while doing exactly the same thing?

OctopusFriend · 08/06/2025 21:57

It was a Christmas card, which was widely circulated. I saw it in several newspapers at the time.

I love your faux outrage! Don’t blame us for reposting it. Blame the Sussexes for putting them out there in the first place 🤭🤦🏼‍♀️

You’re being very transparent by the way. We can all see what you’re doing.

gerispringer · 08/06/2025 21:58

Of course Saints William and Kate never post pictures of their kids do they?

How does someone on the internet reposting an image trump the kids actual parents posting the image in the first place? 🤭

Maybe you need to petition Mumsnet HQ to stop this from happening. But until you do people are going to repost and critique things that H&M post and do 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am posting my opinion thanks very much.

It is genuine. But you can all go ahead and frame it how you like for the purposes of your own arguments.

It would be refreshing though if you actually addressed the matter in hand instead of digressing.

Not many of them in private moments, no. They definitely never post photos of them to help merch Catherine’s online business 🤭

I have already explained.

By posting it here you expose the image to a new audience. Not everyone has seen it before.
