I've embarrassed for Meghan saying that her arranging takeaway food on a plate is the same thing as what Figs Heather Hasson has done 😬

Why is Meghan celebrating the anniversary of the "spectacle" wedding on 19 May 2018? I thought the "real" meaningful "wedding" or vow exchange or whatever it was was on 16th May. Isn't that the one she should be celebrating, considering she practically stuck two fingers up the the UK over the official one?

This is what I was wondering!! The real anniversary is a few days before according to her!

11 mentions of herself in that short piece.

She “shows up” for people by sending them a fruit basket? Jesus.

Vespanest · 20/05/2025 14:58

The premise of the show should be a new business venture picking the brains of those who've gone before her. But Meghan really can't help herself, she sees the woman at best as equals and at worst subordinates who she needs to enlighten. Her business is it is infancy yet she talks as if she's been doing this years.

Exactly this.

Funny how there was no sign of this longstanding interest in gardening when she was a working royal. She could have done some really worthwhile work with inner city community gardens, for example.

Weepixie · 20/05/2025 15:16

She’s so full of her own bullshit she could market it as compost.

MrsLeonFarrell · 20/05/2025 15:17

I've tried to listen to the clips she has on her Instagram account but her questions are so long that I always scroll on before it gets to the space for her interviewee to answer. Maybe the format plays better in the US?

Some professional broadcasters are guilty of this. Or they don't ask questions, they make statements. I noticed it again during the VE Day events:

BBC person: You were evacuated from London to the country when you were five, weren't you. It must have been difficult being away from your parents.
Interviewee: Yes.

Apparently M berated an under gardener so badly that his boss told the late Queen who ticked off Meghan .
Similar situation to the poor chef she was nasty to when she insisted she could taste egg in some vegan dish. Again QE stepped in .

These podcasts should be interesting to me. I've used IT cosmetics and Kitsch products (I want to love their shampoo/conditoner bars but they don't work for me). I've been tempted by Figs scrubs too. I should be lapping this up because I love a good podcast and am quite eclectic in my listening choices.

Unfortunately these are so bad, they aren't even funny. I thought there had been an improvement with the Figs Ceo (Melissa Hanson?), but we are back to Meghan and her self aggrandisment. Also waffling on about gardens the week of the Chelsea Flower Show, I very much doubt that is a coincidence because it happens too frequently at this point.

She talks absolute cack with a confident, actressy, voice. People are easily hoodwinked into thinking she's articulate because of the way she says it and the sound coming out of her mouth, not listening to what she's actually saying. Unless she's doing her vocal fry voice, in which case, it's just all round insufferable.

Neil's letter to the bank manager:

Dear Fascist Bullyboy,

Give me some money.

Boomshanka ( may the belly of your woman be ripe with your offspring),

Neil.

Neil wins.

😄

It also got me thinking of Swiss Tony.

’Paul, running a business is very much like gardening and making love to a beautiful woman. First, you must be confident in your equipment. Next, you must simultaneously nourish growth in the stem and the blossom. Then, you need to understand the peaks and troughs of your flow chart.’

’Oh right oh, Swiss. Fancy a pint?’

I could understand if she was nervous because she wasn't used to having staff around and wasn't sure how to interact with them - how familiar she should be and so on. But that doesn't excuse downright rudeness.

And anyway she's supposedly always been like that - the director of the Reitmans commercial said she was a nightmare to work with.

Only on Suits does she seem to have managed to behave herself.

Thedom · 20/05/2025 16:23

The comments in that article are so funny !

"The most epic love story, Meghan Markle's love of… Meghan Markle."

I think that just about epitomises her whole being.

IdaGlossop · 20/05/2025 16:37

Snap! I was hopeful last week that Limonada had stepped in to coach Meghan on interviewing. But no. The long, long questions, girly giggling, vocal fry, all-about-me have returned. There is one bonus: adding 'pivot' to the bingo card.

No her interest in gardening didn't really extend beyond being rude the the under-gardener at Windsor and the Queen having words.

Unless she is talking about "gardening" - I've heard people in the US refer to growing marijuana as gardening .... 😉

MrsFinkelstein · 20/05/2025 17:18

Was there any evidence of her longstanding love of gardening on The Tig?

From what I can remember it was mainly alcohol, food, travel, socialising and a bit of fashion.

RandyRedHumpback · 20/05/2025 17:26

Peppa Pig's mum has just had a new baby. I'd rather listen to her pontificating on combining motherhood and career than Meghan.

I saw a clip where they had a town crier announcing the birth and a written announcement was placed on a public stand. Evie Pig got more of an announcement fanfare than Archie!

@snughugs, I know you've previously posted citing Lady Colin Campbell. I can only speak for myself but would rather have discussion about things that M&H actually say and do, otherwise it's the horrible territory we were in last year with Kate.
