Do you think some of you are addicted to hating Harry and Meghan?

More and more these manic threads are popping up on mumsnet, wild posts and theories and then hundreds of posts brimming with excitement about catching them out or exposing them. It’s like a game or a hunt. Have many of you crossed the line from interested to addicted?

Is your comment directed at me? I never said the association of addiction was directed at me personally. It was a generalised term for anyone who is accused of addiction. It is an accusation that you have levelled toward a group of people that you know nothing about

But you find it offensive? Why? Are you just getting offended on the behalf of others? Who?

Aren't they a bit like the Kardashians, out there hawking their goods for money, more fame, recognition, whatever it is they seem to be looking for.

It's just a different iteration of the likes of the Kardashians or a Housewives franchise. Look on any forum discussion around the Kardashians or a Housewives episode and you will read similar kind of commentary as you do about Meghan and Harry. They all have massive publicity machines behind them feeding the media.

Harry and Meghan bring it all to the table, but with a unique Royal flavour, family feuds, influencing to make a stash of cash, gushy gushy friendships, cosmetic surgery, designer clothes, little kids included in the bandwagon, none of them with any real job but plenty of money, aspirational lifestyle with private jets, mega mansions, an army of staff, and in the case of Harry and Meghan, the icing on the cake being Royal titles from the most prestigious Monarchy on the planet.

Its a great spectacle for the viewer, its there to be discussed, ridiculed, fawned over, discuss what will happen next, what already happened, what did Kim (Meghan) do to her face, why is she being so rude to her husband, why is he such a wet blanket etc etc.

Its a reality soap show and Harry and Meghan seem to be very happy to oblige with content.

I could do, but seeing as MNHQ are deleting posts where other members are holding other posters posting history against them, I don’t think it’s prudent to do so. See previous posts on this thread where this has happened. They’ve been zapped. Im too clever to fall for that trap, my friend 😉

And I say that some poster cannot stand to hear anything even slightly critical of Harry and Meghan. And call anyone who isn’t gushing of them a hater. That is weird!

I’m a bit late to the party and haven’t read much further than the above post, but it summed it up for me perfectly and much more eloquently that I could.

I don’t think about them much, but I’ve always found it absolutely fascinating watching a raging narcissist play out their delusion in a very public way. Harry is just very dim and full of bitterness and resentment for the massively privileged life he was born into as well as jealous of his brother. Meghan really thought she could bring the monarchy down purely because she couldn’t countenance not being top dog, especially with Kate.

I clocked there was something not quite right in the engagement photocall, and then the bullying/tiara tantrum accusations came out and it was just Wow!

I’m not a interested in the RF per say but I do think the Queen having to go through their very public appalling behaviour and disrespect to the institution she was Head of, and had given her life to, at her advanced age was pure deliberate evil, just for £s. Harry literally sold his own grandmother!

I don’t follow their activities, except when there are headlines or threads like these come up in Active.

I hope the truth bites them on the arse very soon and they fuck off into a void, with their tails between their legs, where they belong though.

Oh stop trying to backtrack, your words are there for all to see! You are talking about people and posters, discussions are made by posters! Stop twisting yourself in knots trying to justify your language. You may have circumnavigated the talk guidelines by insulting posters as a homogeneous group but it’s clear to see exactly what you are doing.

Some people seem to spend huge chunks of their day speculating and gossiping in a nasty way about this couple, Looking at all of these threads collectively; it is not a pleasant read, and yet when challenged, many of these same posters claim that the discussions are reasonable, well informed and intelligent! Whereas I would use the adjectives: obsessed, prejudiced and unhinged!
They claim to know more about Harry and Meghan, their inner thoughts, their motivations, their finances, their friends and families, their pregnancies and their parenting capabilities, than Harry and Meghan know themselves!

If you don’t know honestly I’m not going to waste time explaining it to you.

Nothing I said was offensive. It was factual commentary on addiction. I asked you those questions hoping for answers as I am well aware that I can't read your or anyone else's mind.

I do know a lot about addiction though.

I don’t think the posts collectively are pleasant to read. I think some of them are gossipy and nasty.

I have made genuine and legitimate comments; too bad if you disagree, that is your right.

There are loads of posters that plop and drop threads on here because they know they’ll get a reaction. Mumsnet probably love them for the traffic they generate. The “addiction” to posting about M and H that the OP mentions helps Mumsnet.

No need for any angst.

No-one needs rehab. Us regular posters are just interested in human behaviour, especially the more (deliberately) dramatic aspects.

H&M have chosen to put their lives out there, and fairly unusual lives they are as well. So people discuss what they put out (unintentionally as well as intentionally!)
