Harry's new interview 2

I just thought I would start second thread since I noticed the first one is full. It has certainly dominated media reporting. I saw a snippet on Sky news earlier. A document from Harry saying its a dereliction of duty to stop his security. Erm who just whizzed off to the USA and left all the duties behind. I havent watched the whole interview. I wonder if he'll appeal again.

Is Jacob Rees Mogg a penguin? <misses point completely>

I'm not sure anyone knows what he is @smilesy 😂(apart from very odd)

Think someone threw it out there that Penguin might get JRM to ghost write Spare 2: The Return of the Malcontent.

The Spare on the Bench

QueenOfHertz · 07/05/2025 22:30

Didn’t Jacob Rees Mogg say his nanny made excellent jam?

Vespanest · 07/05/2025 23:03

daily mail reported and then pulled an article from the Diana award about partnerships and the benefits you get, the platinum was £200k that comes with an invite to a "royal gala"

BemusedAmerican · 07/05/2025 23:29

Hosted by Royal Penguins? I'd pay for an evening with Royal Penguins ( if I won a lottery).

Isn't the Diana award a joint inititiative with PW & PH? Were they both there?

No. They tend to do things separately for the organisation. Must be a nightmare to negotiate everything.

Was this the event last year where PH dialed in late and MM announced ARO when PW was speaking?

Rhaidimiddim · 08/05/2025 09:11

"Before making the move, it was said that the family reached an agreement known as the Sandringham Agreement, which contained a slew of requirements for Harry and Meghan to follow.

Amongst the guidelines for the couple was that they would retain their Royal Highness style, but would not use it, and that they would no longer be considered working royals.

However, one of those rules looks to have been broken, as the website for a new initiative that Prince Harry is involved in has seemingly referred to him as a royal... which is a big no-no under the Sandringham Agreement.

Prince Harry appeared in Las Vegas on Tuesday to announce his backing of The Diana Award's new Pledge of Invest initiative.

While asking for donations on its site, The Diana Award offered a selection of rewards for companies who decide to contribute - one of which included a ticket to what they called a 'royal gala.'

But to snag an invite to the 'royal gala,' attendees would have to fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars, as it is only being offered to companies that agree to donate $260,000 plus a year - in an apparent 'cash for access' exchange.

DailyMail.com has reached out for comment."

Slightly concerned about this, as I think Prince William and Prince Harry are both still involved with the Diana award. I hope with everything else that's been going on there hasn't been a slip of oversight here and that William won't be dragged into anything questionable.

I imagine the DM has reached out to BP for comment, and the lawyers are now ascertaining what on earth this new "Pledge of Invest initiative" is all about and what the implications are for W's continuing involvement in the Diana Award.

Thedom · 08/05/2025 09:45

I wouldn't be surprised if Harry and Meghan have decided not to adhere to anything previously agreed, particularly now that Harry is blaming his father for the outcome of the RAVEC case, he is very vengeful when he doesnt' get his way.

IAmATorturedPoet · 08/05/2025 09:46

Something is smelling a bit ‘off’ about this new initiative🤔.

Mayhemabounds · 08/05/2025 09:48

Harry looks so miserable in that photo.

Absolutely. Tbh there’s absolutely nothing that can be done if they decide to start using the HRH again. However titles are nothing if you don’t command respect. Diana had her HRH taken away but she didn’t need it. She was a global icon in her own right by that time. In contrast, H and M are global figures of fun.

Treeleaf11 · 08/05/2025 10:14

How will Harry be able to book them a seat at a 'Royal Gala' ? It's not something he can do anymore

jeffgoldblum · 08/05/2025 10:48

It’s very reminiscent of Sarah’s cash for access scandal and Andrews pitch the palace cash grab isn’t it!!

ThePoshUns · 08/05/2025 10:51

It has that same whiff about it.

Thedom · 08/05/2025 11:02

I think it is very different to Sarah Ferguson cash for access, that really was low.

To my mind, the only jarring thing about this is the 'Royal' gala offer in return for an annual donation, we know a Royal gala is not exactly Royal if it's only Harry who is attending.

CigarettesAndLoveBites · 08/05/2025 11:07

So Hazza is using the term "royal" and Meghan sending out cards with "HRH" on. Will the palace have to retaliate? This is totally against the terms of the Sandringham Agreement. They can't just let it go surely?

IdaGlossop · 08/05/2025 11:09

Harry is not having a good run at the moment, one way and another. His barrister, David Sherbourne, was reprimanded yesterday in Harry's case against the Daily Mail. The judge said the case was not a public enquiry and that there needed to be specific examples given, rather than an endless trawling for other people whose phones might have been tapped. archive.ph/a7sSA

There is a growing sense that Harry has lost all sense of proportion and is overreaching himself. Public institutions are not there to do his bidding - the judicial system, RAVEC, the BBC. With so many domestic problems - cost of living, struggling NHS, teacher shortages etc - it's not a good look for one of the country's most privileged families. Monday's VE celebrations demonstrated strong support for the monarchy. That should be something to build on.

I was of the view that removing his HRH and Duke titles would just look mean but I am changing my view. If both H and M have broken the Sandringham agreement, I suspect courtiers will be arguing that that gives a clear reason for removal, rather than the more nebulous spilling of family confidences and rubbishing Camilla, Kate and William.

Edited to correct link

Letting it go is the most sensible course. I really admire them for consistently taking the moral high ground. The longer it goes on the more deranged and unreasonable the Montecino branch of the family appears.

Yes, but I think the timing of ARO was such that she ended up overshadowing Harry. Harry dialed in at some ungodly hour for the UK winners, speaking from a ski chalet in Canada, where he was on holiday with P Diddy's bestie/ Chris Jenner's toy boy.
