Harry's new interview 2

Viviennemary · 03/05/2025 13:19

I just thought I would start second thread since I noticed the first one is full. It has certainly dominated media reporting. I saw a snippet on Sky news earlier. A document from Harry saying its a dereliction of duty to stop his security. Erm who just whizzed off to the USA and left all the duties behind. I havent watched the whole interview. I wonder if he'll appeal again.

Maybe about how blessed she is as a mother?

Edited

More likely, how blessed her children feel themselves to be to have her as a mother,.

Yes, definitely that way round!

Thinking about the Marina Hyde article in the first link I posted above, I think it has problems. Her main argument in the article is that Harry is too stingy to pay for his own security. Yet we know he offered to pay for metropolitan police armed security, but Ravec said not possible as others would want that opportunity.

Harry’s issue is he thinks to be safe whilst in the U.K. he and his family needs 24/7 top level security and so he is not happy that Ravec have given him a bespoke security package with security decided on a case by case basis. He thinks it is an establishment set up. This seems very unlikely.

@Fernandoo, you may have missed it but Harry’s offer of payment was made after the fact , to make it more palatable to taxpayers!
this was printed by the media, Harry tried to sue them but a judge ruled that they had proof and no case to answer.

Indeed. Harry also knew that his after-the-fact 'offer' would not have been accepted under any circumstances, as QE2's offer had similarly been rejected in 2020 (as she knew it would be! - I think she wrote her letter simply to pacify a raging Harry who had made a silly, naive promise to Meghan, which he hinted at in Spare.)

So it was empty offer that he knew would not cost him a penny in actual cold hard cash. Just more PR spin from the Sussex PR machine.

Thanks @jeffgoldblum . I found the whole special on the security case here:

Great find @RandyRedHumpback!
I will have a look 👀

RandyRedHumpback · 14/05/2025 13:59

Have watched it. It's a good overview of the whole saga. Take home note: Harry knew he would not have publicly funded security if he moved to N.America before the Sandringham summit.

Yep!
Harry lies yet again!
strangely thinking the truth won’t come out.

his father paid for his security for a year to help out , not only is Harry ungrateful, he tells the whole world a load of bollocks about his father!

reading between the lines , I’m of the opinion this tantrum and court case is because his father stopped paying!
he obviously assumed this would continue forever but I’m not sure how he didnt understand that Charles couldn’t possibly afford to carry on paying this huge bill!

ThePoshUns · 14/05/2025 14:18

Sounds like the RF have had enough and are putting their side out there.

The Sussexes' broadsheet of choice, The NY Times, has issued another hit piece against the RF, so frankly, if the gloves come off, I would not blame them.

FriendsPlease · 14/05/2025 15:19

If Harry and his family had IPP status which would mean the US has to pay hundreds of millions over their lifetime for the Sussex' security I reckon Trump would follow up on the fact that Harry took drugs and reject any further visa. That would be interesting.

However as is often said here, no doesn't apply to him because he thinks he is special.
I didn't know anyone had been convicted of threatening him and now in prison but tbh until the sentabale debacle I didn't pay any attention to his whining.

The legalities on IPP status are fascinating (i.e. Harry as a hovering-around-middle-age non-working royal who voluntarily decamped to North America is clearly not eligible for IPP status). I'm very interested in this - focusing on the 'legals' of Harry's claims - as much as the PR, the optics and the narrative inconsistencies.

Yep. Not a coincidence that this has come out after that interview.

NewAgeNewMe · 14/05/2025 16:59

To be fair to the RF there are only so many accusations that can be made, before they say enough is enough. Whether it’s the correct course of action, time will tell.

My favourite thing about that DM article is the court artist’s rendition of poor disgruntled Harry aka “a fox” 😂

In a nutshell, palace sources have revealed that Harry knew about his downgraded security before the summit, his father paid for his security for a whole year!
