Would anyone like to join me in my attempt to unite the board and discuss our favourite royal outfits (before it enviably turns into another bun fight 🤣)

I’ll start with my favourite Catherine outfits first…

Camilla can carry off the bling, too, without looking weighed down by it. I do like to see the tiaras in action at state occasions.

Charlotte's birthday pic is out. It sent me looking for pics of Lady Sarah Chatto, and I found this lovely simple and elegant outfit that she wore at the Coronation.

I saw the Charlotte Birthday picture. She looks like her Dad. Not sure the outfit is going to feature highly on threads like these though.

Sensory processing. Issues with clothing would be huge. Don’t like tight fitting clothes because don’t like feel or material also irritates them. That dress was silk I believe. Sensory nightmare. What she choices to wear and the materials she wears also shouts this to me. If you know, you know, I guess.

I don’t see or suspect the SPD at all and I’d consider myself very knowing regarding them

Emm. She also doesn’t wear well fitting bras. Or anything. Could be restricted to clothes.

Neither do a very big percentage of the female population.

Or anything. Could be restricted to clothes

But it’s not because it doesn’t exist.

Of the VE days service I thought Camilla looked fabulous , I thought Sophie looked lovely & I liked Catherine's dress ( and how nice to see it not referred to as "recycled" or as I would say "worn it again" 😂 ) I do think Camilla dresses really well 90% + of the time.

So here for the photographs.

@AuroraCake - your comment about dressing is very interesting. I like what think is "tactile" dressing. So eg I looked at Kate's wedding dress and just thought those sleeves can't be comfortable. I like things which are soft and comfortable but I didn't know it was a "thing" I might well google"

ETA I do think Samantha Cameron dresses well in an understated way. Not Royal but just adding it in.

Royal Family lead VE Day tributes at Westminster Abbey service

King Charles III and Queen Camilla led the royals including Prince William and Kate in London today as they commemorated the sacrifices of Second World War veterans and their generation.

Sophie Edinburgh wins!

spanieleyes · 08/05/2025 17:50

Love the hats, Some pretty amazing confections on show!

feellikeanalien · 08/05/2025 17:57

Slightly off topic but is Boris Johnson getting even scruffier?

themightysossidge · 08/05/2025 20:29

Samantha Cameron looking good as usual.

themightysossidge · 08/05/2025 20:29

Not keen on Camilla's blanket stitch coat.

upinaballoon · 08/05/2025 20:34

Camilla's wearing wide black trousers tonight and an interesting-looking coat. I'd like a closer look at it.

Lascivious · 08/05/2025 20:48

Today I thought the queen looked great, not sure about the gloves - seems dated.

Sophie looked frumpy as always, Kate looked perfect but prissy. Loved Sam Cam’s outfit.

BasiliskStare · 08/05/2025 20:55

I thought Sophie looked nice - I loved Camilla's blanket stitch coat - I thought Kate's dress was lovely but not entirely sure about the hat . I thought a wee bit fussy with a polka dot dress.

I thought Priti Patel looked lovely.

I have been out but must look for Camilla this evening.

SlagPit · 08/05/2025 20:55

Kate's dress is fine but why on Earth did she choose to accessorise with those horrible brown shoes and bag? Black accessories would have looked so much crisper.

Camilla’s coat is a re-worked version of a coat that was a gift to Charles by a Saudi designer many years ago. It makes a great evening coat.

Saudi fashion designer ‘shocked’ and ‘proud’ to see Duchess of Cornwall wearing his design

JEDDAH: It’s not every day a fashion designer sees a member of Britain’s royal family wearing one of their designs in front of a global television audience. So Yahya Al-Bishri said he was “shocked” to learn that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall chose a daq...

I liked Catherine’s white outfit last night, although I don’t think white’s her colour.

I don’t think Kate suits white. She suits rich colours.

CodandChipz · 09/05/2025 15:35

If I see a bow in someone’s hair I will always always think of it as a ‘Fergie bow’.

Lascivious · 09/05/2025 20:19

I think Kate’s far too old for a bow in her hair. Looks silly.

SlagPit · 09/05/2025 21:32

It's very 80s, a bit odd.

BasiliskStare · 10/05/2025 14:27

I do agree with the bow but when I was in my Laura Ashley sailor top era - this is the nearest I can find https://frockery.co.uk/products/laura-ashley-80s-vintage-white-sailor-blouse Too Sloane for words but we all did it , albeit we did not live with the sound of Sloane Square underground station - it was with that or Affleck's palace on the train who sold cropped dinner jackets I did have a selection of vintage hair bows. I also am old enough that I remember the bows you could clip on your shoes to jazz them up a bit. Actually I am minded to get another bow hair clip - because I am old enough I remember them fondly , I don't care if anyonone thinks it is frumpy & also my near neighbour who is French and dresses fabulously often wears one.
I am in my 7th decade and I shall wear what I choose - 😂😎 But enough about me. I realise I wasn't a fashion influencer in my youth - not then , not now 😂
