If someone got high level protection who I would not expect to get it, I would put that down to there having been an assessment of risk that showed it was needed. I would not expect to be given the detail of what that risk entailed or why they attracted that risk.

Quite, he does say he doesn’t begrudge others having it elsewhere confusingly.

Interesting. There’s also a method re: public speaking where you learn a script & memorise it completely like lines in a play. You need to be ‘Happy Birthday’ , whilst chopping carrots fluent, in order to pull off. Know it like your own name flawlessly in other words. It’s not advised as very hard to pull off especially if anyone interjects & you are forced off piste & sunk.

A hybrid is poss M’s way ? & maybe where rep of word salad comes from?

To be fair Meghan was an actor so learning lines would be one of her skill sets needed for that.

It’s Anne - she’s gunning for him.

I wouldn't blame her. I think she's actually very protective of Charles.

Neither of them served in a combat role in the military, which seems to be a major reason why Harry is claiming that he is entitled to the highest level of security protection. He didn't have to talk about how killing members of the Taliban was 'like taking out figures on a chessboard' in his memoir though, a move that struck me at the time as utter stupidity. It was suggested at the time that perhaps that was another of Harry's misguided attempts to force the RF to demand that RAVEC provide him with the taxpayer funded security he so dearly wants, but if so, god how stupid do you have to be?

No, but they're still royal. Anne was the victim of an attempted kidnapping at gunpoint.
You don't see her whinging.
I agree, he's very stupid because he gets taxpayers' funded security. Just not the Head of State level he thinks he's entitled to.

Edited

Of course, very true & very useful skill. Harry may be trying to pick up the skillset…

Puzzledandpissedoff · 03/05/2025 14:01

With all the talk of Harry being coached to deliver his messages, it occurs to me that this might be a difficult thing to achieve if he was as "stupid" as is claimed - something that might also apply to actually memorising the lines

I'll agree that he's not the brightest when it comes to actually understanding things, especially if it involves the feelings of others, but I'm not sure he's stupid so much as downright malign

TessaTemu · 03/05/2025 14:01

It's all Waaaaaahhhhhhh 😭

Harry should pour himself a stiff drink or ask his maid / butler to, sit by the side of the pool on his glorious Californian grounds and count his blessings, of which there are many.

He is acting like the spoilt and entitled prince that he is.

Drying his flipping dirty underpants in public yet again draws attention to the security of all members of the royal household as well as previous PMs and select private citizens. He's endangering them all and he has become a danger himself. He's lots his mind. And he's doing this out of vengefulness. Silly Billy.

Does he not have a point if others are afforded protection for life who effectively don’t merit it?

What do you mean 'don't merit' security?

Do you think the government just hand out highly trained, in demand specialist protection officers on a whim?

I mean, he probably mean Liz Truss. And we might agree, but she was a PM, even if briefly. 🤣

(I’m more annoyed that she gets the former PM’s £115k tax free allowance for life, in addition to her PM’s pension, on the basis that a former PM will have a lot of admin and correspondence to deal with…)

Given the general hostility towards Liz Truss, I can fully believe she needs a high level of security.

Nevertheless, she was PM. Whether you agree with her or not, she's certainly worked harder than Harry ever has. Plus she was Head of Government. He's a less important member of the RF chasing fame in California.

A scathing article from the usual pro-Harry ITV and Sussex cheerleader Chris Ship.

The whole thing is very sad.

The life he could be having but all this bitterness that stops him doing so.

But I think to a point they are both as deluded as each other if they seem to think that they can make enough to live the lifestyle they would have had as working Royals.

Harry says that we’d be surprised if we knew who got ‘it’ who in his opinion don’t really warrant. Is there any truth at all here if we take him at word? Why he suggests all needs an overview/review.

What does Harry know that the highly regarded experts in security do not?

Profhilodisaster · 03/05/2025 14:15

He's making himself even more of a target imo, the more he spouts off publicly about his 'lack of security' the more nutters will be aware of it. Even though there isn't a 'lack' .

The reason PMs and ex PMs have security for life has nothing to do with their popularity it’s due to the top state secrets that they were privy to and the risk that should they be kidnapped/ held
hostage to share those. This clearly would not apply to Harry as no one would tell him anything that needed to be kept secret.

The don’t want the lifestyle of working royals; they have sufficient to emulate them in terms of holidays, home, schooling, hobbies. They actually want the lifestyle of Hollywood royalty who have hundreds of millions, not just tens of millions.

Exactly. Harry fails to understand the most basic things, and only looks at situations from his own, limited perspective.

In my opinion, Harry should accept this defeat and crack on with his beautiful life.

I appreciate it must be extremely difficult for him( I can't even imagine how I would feel in his clothes) and finally close this chapter with all the poison of the UK.

Meghan seems to have accepted it a long time ago , now it is Harry's turn.

The UK has the Royals that it deserves.

I don’t think Meghan has accepted anything. I think they divided their responsibilities, she would focus on building their brand and his job was to secure (or in their eyes restore) IPP status for the whole family. This would have enabled them to push their brand aggressively on a global stage, opening up a much more lucrative market.

Both have failed spectacularly but it will be Harry who is panicking, because she has made him responsible for something he could never hope to achieve.

This really does feel like a child's attempt at blackmail: "I'll be killed by a nutter AND THEN YOU'LL BE SORRY!"

I suppose that would be one way out of the impossible hole he has dug for himself, from which he is still throwing out dirt as he vanishes from view below the ground.

TessaTemu · 03/05/2025 14:24

With harry's hateful and ignorant interview unfortunately the security needs of the Walse family and Charles and camilla will have gone costing us taxpayers extra £££.

Not just himself, also his brother, father and their families. He's making the entire royal family more of a target. Dimwit.

Bear in mind , Harry may well know the recipe for Meghan's raspberry soup, which I'm sure is worth ££££££££ to any wannabe kidnapper.

themightysossidge · 03/05/2025 14:30

Oh wait he has forgiven his father, brother and step mother 😳🙄 blub blub this shouldn't be in the public . It's about family . Why has he changed his tune now?

HonoriaBulstrode · 03/05/2025 14:41

As a former serving officer, is Harry still subject to military discipline? Isn't the Queen's (or King's) commission a lifetime thing? Because he really needs a senior officer to haul him in and give him a good old-fashioned bollocking, of the sort where all he needs to say is 'yes sir, no sir'. He has no business talking publicly about other people's security arrangements. Or even knowing about them.
