Watching the news about the horrendous rubbish problem in Birmingham, this was followed by Kates film clip rambling about Windermere saying we need to connect with nature and couldn’t help thinking it was inappropriate.I bet cancer sufferers in Birmingham would love to do this instead of holding down a job worrying about col doing chores that I bet she never does and have stinking rubbish with rats in the streets. I have no problem with her video but thought the timing was so off. They sometimes need to read the room.

Perhaps you should look at what he didn't do.

Maybe this thread is not the place to cast aspersions on Pope Francis who hasn't even been buried yet. 😮
There are threads about his demise on mumsnet, perhaps try your comments there? I can't guarantee what reception you will receive

Apparently, there is an income threshold for credibility in the imagination of Sussex PR!

And yet their best beloveds are desperate to enter the 'billionaire' bracket and seem wholly motivated by monetary gain and 'being famous', whereas the RF do actually do some good in the world. Interesting, isn't it?

Whwre have they said they want to be billionaires? Seriously find me a direct quote because I am seeing this statement over and over repeated as though itsna fact yet never seen them say it or is it a case of someone somewhere said it and its taken hold as though this is what they said they want to be, billionaires and its now repeated over and over as what they want as though that is a fact

You're right!!!! Maybe I have it completely wrong! Maybe the avaricious, grasping monetising of everything is just a cover! Maybe what they really want to do is the complete opposite...they want to throw all their millions down the drain until there's nothing left and they have to live in a cardboard box, wearing second hand underpants on their heads instead of $5000 ill-fitting suits...in which case they are doing a bloody brilliant job. Good on them!

It's hilarious isn't it! On these threads that go on and on and on about Harry and Meghan it's all speculation, made up scenarios, and complete fantasy.

I've never seen them put out a statement saying they want to be billionaires but it's a good story that pretends to be fact, to feed on for a few pages of a thread 😂😅
I've just caught up on the royal board and even seen a thread that is writing massive chat gbt fantasy posts about them as a means to have a good laugh at them Seriously weird!
My goodness Piggy...that's a good story 😁

@Extiainoiapeial to be fair, they doing that on a thread about a book that hasn't been written. so they have to fill the thread with something.

Hardly fantasy.

Meghan speaking about her new podcast: ““We’re diving into the highs – and the lows – and the kind of advice that turns small ideas into billion-dollar businesses

Victoria Ward writing in the Telegraph (remember, currently the Sussexes’ broadsheet of choice to go to with their statements and exclusives):

The Duchess of Sussex is convinced her new business ventures will make her extremely wealthy, The Telegraph can reveal. A well-placed source said Meghan “thinks she’s going to be a billionaire” and that the team of executives she has hired can get her there.”

Look ww know cos they said it themselves they want to earn their own money, thats what they are trying to do, good for them. That doesn't equate to saying I want to be a billionaire.

And there are plenty of millionaires in this world who are still working and earning money. So what?

But that’s not quite the case is it ? Yes they were willing to give up some of their income but fully expected Pa to keep transferring £2+ million a year ( remember Harry claiming he was cut off financially?). They also expected the perks such as 24/7 paid for security .
So they weren’t spurning the whole package , just the bits they couldn’t control .

Meanwhile on the Wales thread plenty of posters telling others off for speculating and how dare you comment when something isn't true or a fact...meanwhile they stay quiet and say nothing when comments speculating on H&M are made or worse they themselves make the very comments they tell other people off for. This is the double standards of some posters on this board and when it's pointed out your labelled some H&M devotee blah blah blah

So that first quote is related ro people on her podcast and their businesses.

The second one..yet again a other mysterious source saying what someone thinks. Like we haven't seen that one before 🙄

Sources say Spectre8 believes she will win the lottery this week 😆

So are you hand on heart telling us Meghan and her PR team don’t want the words Meghan and “billion dollar business” linked in the mind of the general public? How credulous some people can be about the whole point of PR.

that is so true. it seems for some reason talking about W&K is seen as dreadful. how dare people speculate about them. yet the same posters(is pretty much the usual suspects) fill 100's of threads speculating about H&M.

Agree and how anyone can quote The Telegraph as a serious source of news nowadays is beyond me; it’s sunk so low it’s unrecognisable, and is like any other tabloid now but with delusions of grandeur!

True.

In discussions on the royals it often seems to depend who's putting on the PR though.

I've just read a piece about Meghan and they are saying she is part of the " noise" in the USA just now - the craziness noise. Trump is of course another and master of it . The crazier the better seems to be the trend right now. It keeps you in the public eye. Didn't Meghan and Harry complain before about " noise" yet here she is spouting it all out?
She was on a high when she arrived at the Time event and was on her own solo path to that stage. Harry was irrelevant.

Really and is it PR when there are articles still banging on about her time as a royal, dragging up yet again something random omg she apparently broke protocol, omg the queen was apparently not happy she didn't follow protocol. Really? No that's just making up more rubbish for clickbait articles, not PR.

As for her wanting to be a billionaire I've seen it repeated on here the most, not seen it anywhere else, then again I don't purposefully go looking for news about her.

And if it is true and she aspires to be a billionaire of to have a billionaire business, so bloody what. If I start a business I'd be aiming high too.

The point about the W&K thread is that the speculation was ignoring the actual facts, though. The fact that William was not duty bound to go to Windsor at Easter and the fact that he actually did attend church on Easter Sunday. Of course there will be speculation about all of the royals, but it’s unbelievable how many posters kept on about him denigrating his duty in the face of facts that said otherwise

Literally this.

People were going crazy that William wasn’t going to church and was shirking his duty. Turned out he did go to church, just one local to him, and still people went crazy and said it was his duty go to the Windsor service (or the Abbey as one person kept repeating because they saw a pile on and didn’t stop to read the articles posted and just started spouting nonsense 🤣)

I don’t care if people think William and Catherine are lazy, they’re entitled to their opinion if they have evidence for it. I don’t care if people want to end the monarchy, again they are entitled to their opinion. But the Easter church service deviation was unhinged madness that smacked of ‘Where’s Kate’. It wasn’t opinion, it wasn’t speculation based on evidence or behaviour of William (literally the opposite and when evidence was provided people found a new way to attack as he was at the wrong church blah blah blah), it was a pile on.

But when we know Harry & Meghan leak things to the press and say or do ridiculous things, they’ve got no one to blame but themselves when people mock and speculate based on their behaviour. Just like people made fun of Catherine’s cancer free video saying it looked like a tampon advert (it did a bit but I was just happy to see her happy).

An example of why people speculate on Harry & Meghan:

I personally don’t think Harry and Meghan are going to divorce, they seem pretty loved it. But I was very ‘what the fuck’ when it was announced that Meghan had reached out to someone in regards to a possible divorce book. People will speculate because of something she has done or the way she acts (in this case talking about a divorce that hasn’t even happened yet - seems conniving and planned out).

so a whole thread speculating about an unwritten book is ok, but no one can speculate why PW didn't go to church with his dad.......

Yes. I would have thought that it’s completely obviously that not all press coverage of Meghan and Harry (or any other Royals, for that matter) is homogenous? Some of it is PR coming directly from them, their office and their PR advisers. Some of it is the media looking for consumer engagement so as to continue to earn advertising revenue.

Have you not appreciated the difference?

Samcro · 24/04/2025 11:06

People are speculating on an unwritten book because Harry has already written a memoir and they are taking the piss about what he might write in a second one based on the first one. If he never wrote the first one, there would be nothing to mock or speculate about.
