Watching the news about the horrendous rubbish problem in Birmingham, this was followed by Kates film clip rambling about Windermere saying we need to connect with nature and couldn’t help thinking it was inappropriate.I bet cancer sufferers in Birmingham would love to do this instead of holding down a job worrying about col doing chores that I bet she never does and have stinking rubbish with rats in the streets. I have no problem with her video but thought the timing was so off. They sometimes need to read the room.

Harry also said himself n the promotional interviews following the publication of Spare that he had enough material for a second memoir. He and Meghan also had previously announced their book deal with Penguin Random House was multi-book.

Given this - directly from the couple - why is speculation about whether Harry may indeed pen Spare 2 inappropriate?

smilesy · 24/04/2025 12:00

Samcro · 24/04/2025 11:06

so a whole thread speculating about an unwritten book is ok, but no one can speculate why PW didn't go to church with his dad.......

But we know that a four book deal was made with the publisher, so it would seem reasonable to speculate that a sequel to Spare could be written. Equally, we know that William was at church and that he didn’t have to be at Windsor, yet posters kept insisting otherwise 🤷‍♀️

Literally this.

People were going crazy that William wasn’t going to church and was shirking his duty. Turned out he did go to church, just one local to him, and still people went crazy and said it was his duty go to the Windsor service (or the Abbey as one person kept repeating because they saw a pile on and didn’t stop to read the articles posted and just started spouting nonsense 🤣)

I don’t care if people think William and Catherine are lazy, they’re entitled to their opinion if they have evidence for it. I don’t care if people want to end the monarchy, again they are entitled to their opinion. But the Easter church service deviation was unhinged madness that smacked of ‘Where’s Kate’. It wasn’t opinion, it wasn’t speculation based on evidence or behaviour of William (literally the opposite and when evidence was provided people found a new way to attack as he was at the wrong church blah blah blah), it was a pile on.

But when we know Harry & Meghan leak things to the press and say or do ridiculous things, they’ve got no one to blame but themselves when people mock and speculate based on their behaviour. Just like people made fun of Catherine’s cancer free video saying it looked like a tampon advert (it did a bit but I was just happy to see her happy).

An example of why people speculate on Harry & Meghan:

I personally don’t think Harry and Meghan are going to divorce, they seem pretty loved it. But I was very ‘what the fuck’ when it was announced that Meghan had reached out to someone in regards to a possible divorce book. People will speculate because of something she has done or the way she acts (in this case talking about a divorce that hasn’t even happened yet - seems conniving and planned out).

Edited

So you know for fact she had reached out about this book, not from some source.

You say people will speculate because of what she does and way she acts well we can apply that to anyone then can't we, so we can speculate on the way William and Kate act and what they do

How many times? There is a difference between speculation and trying to refute actual facts, which was what was happening elsewhere

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 24/04/2025 12:11

It was an exposé which also highlighted new bullying claims, so yes I think it’s fair to speculate on it. And yes feel free to speculate on William and Catherine if they start acting strangely or moronically, like writing a tell all book, going on Oprah and airing all their dirty laundry.

Here’s the difference between speculation and a pile on:

Fact: William isn’t attending Windsor Easter Service
Speculation: Based on past observations he most likely will attend a service as he does attend church for the big celebrations (Christmas, Easter, Commonwealth, Rememberance)
Pile On: OMG William is an Atheist because he’s not going to church on Easter…oh wait, he did go to church but not the right one, he should be at Westminster Abbey with the others, he’s not fit to be King he should give up the crown, he hates his father

Fact: News article pops up about possibility of Harry writing a sequel to Spare
Speculation: Seems plausible, he’s already written one tell all book and has hinted he could write more if he wants to, plus there was a 3 book deal for him and Meghan, wonder what he would write about
Pile On: OMG Harry wont stop until he becomes the King, he’s a Satanist trying to disrupt the world order, he’s having an affair

Get the difference?

The speculation gets worse than that Samcro, I’ve read comments on here, that incidentally go unchallenged by the majority of monarchists, about Meghan’s supposedly “fake” baby bumps and what a terrible mother she is, when no one outside of her immediate family can possibly know anything about her pregnancies or mothering skills. It’s really off, especially on a website that is meant to be supportive of mothers.

Conversely, I have seen republicans challenge nasty and inappropriate comments about Katherine’s cancer.

Also, everything has a context. I didn’t comment on whether PW attended church or not, but I doubt the issue would have arisen in the first place had he been known for his hard work. The truth is, that he isn’t known for that, and that is not the fault of posters on here of either persuasion.

Going to church is considered work?

Although to be fair to you I have seen the occasional comment about baby bumps etc, now that is plain batshit pile on territory. Luckily I don’t think it’s as prevalent on this site compared to others.

RandyRedHumpback · 24/04/2025 12:28

The only people I ever see bring up "baby bumps" are H&M supporters. No doubt looking to create a fight.

Extiainoiapeial · 24/04/2025 12:49

Why would harry and Meghan supporters talk about fake baby bumps?

To try bait a conversation about it and then claim posters who don't like them are spreading conspiracy theories about them. They can then screen shot bits for other social media.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 24/04/2025 13:49

I don’t think I have ever seen any regular posters on here ever start or pay heed to any ridiculous rumours on moon bumps or whatever apart from rolling their eyes at how ridiculous these rumours are, when someone, usually a fan of Meghan and Harry brings it up.

I think for a man who one day will be head of the Church Of England, going to church at Easter could be considered part of the job.

Yes. And he did go to church at Easter, just not to the Windsor service. There’s never been any official royal protocol that dictates that all royals have to go to the same Easter service (Charles didn’t attend the same one as the Queen for 18 consecutive years and no one batted an eye lash. I think it’s fair to say it hasn’t harmed his reputation) - we discussed all of this pages ago - please keep up with the rest of the class 🤦🏼‍♀️

Also, going to church as the Prince of Wales isn’t work. It’s an act of private worship. What part of that don’t you understand?

Maybe this thread is not the place to cast aspersions on Pope Francis who hasn't even been buried yet. 😮
There are threads about his demise on mumsnet, perhaps try your comments there? I can't guarantee what reception you will receive

Don't worry. I don't derail threads. That's why they get taken down. But thanks for the suggestion.

NewAgeNewMe · 24/04/2025 18:06

@Therovingsunlight77 baby bumps. What a load of baloney. Plenty of the regular posters have said no place of such shitty comments. I’ve also said you can’t mistake the loved up look Meghan and Harry had or the clear ‘I’ve just given birth’ look.

I’m a constitutional monarchist as probably others are. That does not make us royalists.

RandyRedHumpback · 24/04/2025 21:15

On the issue of Harry writing another book, interestingly, I have just been watching a podcast with royal author, Tom Quinn, who has always been very pro H&M, and who had a book published recently called "Yes, Ma'am". He said that after his book was published, he received a letter from H&M's lawyers offering their help on his future projects. H&M are clearly not averse to telling their side of the story to the royal journalists they profess to despise when it suits them. I wonder if they'd like to line up Quinn as their next ghost writer?

If there's a Will there's a way ! This has the smack of last minute decision rather than a plan. Did the malcontents with their online carping force them into Church ? We will probably never know.

It "smacks" of nothing of the sort!! William and his family were with his in-laws for Easter and they went to church privately. The End.

Also M’s face was a lot fuller. She was definitely pregnant. The look suited her.
I do think though as she has a small frame (like me) she found the weight gain difficult to handle and went for weight loss jabs (unlike me).
On the other hand I simply can’t believe she chose to wear a white dress in front of the world’s press two days after giving birth!! I thought the same about Catherine at M’s wedding. She had only given birth a month previously and wore a cream suit. I also that was too close to white to be suitable as a wedding guest.

Oh. Interesting.

That might seem to support reports PRH got their greedy little maulers burnt on the Waaagh deal and explain why there's been so little noise on the touted four book extravaganza since.

I agree, she looked lovely with the rounder fuller face. How anyone can deny she wasn’t pregnant with Archie, I will never understand. Her waist grew thicker with pregnancy, you can see it in the photo where she introduces Archie.

Catherine wore yellow to Meghan and Harry’s wedding. It’s a very pale primrose yellow. It’s an easy mistake to make as it does show up white in certain light. It was a rewear, she had previously wore it to Charlotte’s christening. People speculate she wore an old dress that was already in the public domain so as not to steal the limelight from Meghan.

I am glad Kate is feeling much better, however

I think there are some unpleasant people on mumsnet but you and I would probably not agree as to who they are.

And, whatever you like to say, if posts aren't reported they don't get deleted and I'll go back to my original point... there are some posters that are very report-happy.

People should report nasty, offensive posts. If you engage in debate in these situations, then you're the one that gets deleted!

Nobody knows who reports and who doesn't!
