Watching the news about the horrendous rubbish problem in Birmingham, this was followed by Kates film clip rambling about Windermere saying we need to connect with nature and couldn’t help thinking it was inappropriate.I bet cancer sufferers in Birmingham would love to do this instead of holding down a job worrying about col doing chores that I bet she never does and have stinking rubbish with rats in the streets. I have no problem with her video but thought the timing was so off. They sometimes need to read the room.

So we sha see you telling me on the H&M threads that it's childish to use nicknames for them...look forward to seeing you post it on those threads

What pejorative nicknames have been used by posters on MN for Harry and Meghan?

Your capable of going on all the threads created and taking a look. So if you want to know go find out yourself

are people really going to pretend that H&M don't get called childish names.

I do find the Spectre8 posts are targeted for mis typing. how do you know they don't have dyslexia!!

Extiainoiapeial · 27/04/2025 09:38

I have seen any number of stupid nicknames for Harry and Meghan. I'm not going to list them here because they are puerile.

They have previously said that they don’t bother re reading posts and don’t use spell check because they don’t think it’s important. But it is if a post is unintelligible because of half words or lots of words run together. They have never stated they have dyslexia and I don’t think that the errors in their posts would signify this anyway. I don’t usually comment but sometimes the posts are too difficult to read and I really want to understand a point and I can’t

But what about the bins in Birmingham?

If they are not talking bins, I’m not interested 😆

They probably could have kept Harry and Meghan on-side had they all paid a bit more attention to the family dynamics, which are hurtful and toxic if you are not one of the main players.

I suppose it depends on what your definition of a 'main player' is. Before she left, Meghan was the 4th Lady of the Realm, had she stayed she would currently be the 3rd (& would have been much more public during Charles & Catherine's illnesses and recovery).

3rd is very much a Main Player IMO, and they would both have been Main Players for at least another decade.

H&M chose to move to an environment where they are definitely not main players anymore, but that may suit them better (I hope it does) not everyone can cope at that level physically or mentally and if you can't, then absolutely you should step away.

I thought the Edinburgh title had allowed Edward and Sophie to leapfrog H&M. Happy to be corrected if wrong.

Baital · 27/04/2025 17:21

No, it makes no difference to the line of succession

I'll take that as a "no" then.

If that's the case, they can flag it up.

The posts are difficult to follow.

No, it made no difference to the line of succession. Harry still ranks above Edward (so does Andrew). Birth order and LoS trump whatever Royal Dukedom someone is given.

CurlewKate · 28/04/2025 05:01

I hate the nicknames used for any of them. I’m old enough to remember the snobbish names the posh boys used for Catherine and her family because they were considered unforgivably middle class and aspirational. Yuck.

Me too. I think all of it is nasty and cruel.

NewAgeNewMe · 28/04/2025 07:06

Agreed @CurlewKate
Willy, Megain, Chuck it’s just silly and means I don’t take the poster seriously.

I agree. Nicknames demean the person using them and the person they are speaking about.

Spectre8 · 30/04/2025 07:58

If im typing when I'm travelling or waiting for the bus and not paying attention that's when I'm not bothering to proofread my texts cos it's type quickly and press post.

Plenty of other comments have typos and mistakes but only mine are picked up on and talked about how hard it is read. Just another example of poster who like to pile on a woman unnecessarily. I mean if you understand what I wrote why comment back to me then can easily ignore it.

Extiainoiapeial · 30/04/2025 08:03

@Spectre8 I agree. If I am not on a laptop but my phone, it often is jumbled or not right.. I don't have a problem reading your posts, next time I see someone target you about this, I'll report the post

utterexasperation · 30/04/2025 08:20

There is another thread on here about the fact that Catherine seems to have had parts of her hair highlighted . I know when my SIL had cancer she lost all of her hair and it was something she struggled with. It has grown back but totally grey. Two friends of mine used the ice caps and both were lucky to keep their hair. It must be lovely for her that she has kept hers too and it is a joy to see her looking so full of life and happiness. Genuine happiness cannot be faked.

Thanks its just silly cos you can ignore posts. There are people who posts the equivalent of an essay thay you lose the will to limited reading them, guess what I don't feel compelled to admonish them. I just don't read it and move onto something else.

Besides its not that deep, it's a forum to come kill some time on. I really don't care that much if you can read or understand what I write.

utterexasperation · 30/04/2025 08:44

I'm not here to speculate on the nature of Catherine's cancer but it must still be a daunting prospect being out and about in public for periods of time. I suffer from a gastro condition which imposes a great deal of mental stress at time in addition to the physical restraints. It must be a challenge to be " on show" like this at times. Mull is such a beautiful place and I see the pair were seen boosting local artisans. Catherine here clutching some honey.

I am glad Kate is feeling much better, however
IAmATorturedPoet · 30/04/2025 08:57

I was looking at some of the photos this morning and they do look genuinely very happy and relaxed together. I have never been to Mull but it looks a beautiful place. Lovely to see these pics after the last 12/18 months that they have had.
