Watching the news about the horrendous rubbish problem in Birmingham, this was followed by Kates film clip rambling about Windermere saying we need to connect with nature and couldn’t help thinking it was inappropriate.I bet cancer sufferers in Birmingham would love to do this instead of holding down a job worrying about col doing chores that I bet she never does and have stinking rubbish with rats in the streets. I have no problem with her video but thought the timing was so off. They sometimes need to read the room.

Well I am sure a "growing number of people" (whatever that means) will get used to seeing the RF members do different things as time goes on and we get further away from the reign of QEII. I'm sure a growing number people never thought they would end up liking and respecting Camilla, let alone accept her as queen, but look where we are. The country survived! You should credit the public with more intelligence. I'm sure there are enough people with critical thinking faculties to assess that William missing an Easter service is neither a big deal nor necessarily a bad thing considering the 12-16 months the family has endured at the hands of his brother's supporters and the press, who are stirring as usual. And, once again, I think you will find most people simply don't care, and are not brain washed about what to care about by gossipy, trivial "news" items.

Anyway, this is pretty boring now and I am off to bed. I will look forward to Easter Day armageddon, when Anne wears something old to church, and Beatrice looks at Sophie a bit funny.

I’m not brain washed. I’m the only on here not giving the same opinion as others on this matter.

Attaching religious identify to someone, based on their posts is labelling someone. I asked you to stop.

And I did.

But you won’t let others express a different opinion either. And have been hostile when others challenge you.

AtIusvue · 18/04/2025 00:29

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 18/04/2025 00:27

What hostility? The only hostile thing I remember being said between us is when you said I was being passive aggressive. But I chose to believe that was a poor choice of wording and ignored it. I feel like you are trying to paint a victim narrative because I am
not agreeing with you. Despite that, I don’t agree with you because of your poor persuasive writing and lack of evidence to back up your opinion.

The use of emojis to send love to a poster whom you are arguing with, is a demonstration of passive aggression.

I hope Eugenie wears a ridiculous hat that blocks whoever sits behind her. Good night and God bless as my grandad would say 🥰

IAmATorturedPoet · 18/04/2025 00:30

I think the public expectation that PW attends the Easter Sunday service is just down to the fact that he has attended for many years previously (apart from last year). I’d be surprised if the public expectation has anything to do with it being a job requirement for a role he doesn’t even hold yet. His father holds that role and will be in attendance so all is fine. It is at the end of the day a private gathering.

I have read that PW has spoken to KC and has been given the okay not to be there, which again would make sense as it’s a private occasion.

I think the media are trying to make this into something bigger than it needs to be - maybe Easter is traditionally a slow news period.

Just my two penneth worth.

I agree.

I am more interested in whether Andrew will attend. Does public scandal and shame stop someone from worshipping at their local or family churcb? Or should he worship in private since he is now a pariah? I can see both points of view. I dislike the man, but if it’s a family church, I feel like he should be able to worship where he chooses.

Catherine's evolution reminds me of Michelle Obama's evolution.

Michelle was so very careful in Barack Obama's first term as President. She endured some outrageously cruel comments about the first family portrait (peal clutching about her sleeveless look and around her healthy eating initiative e.g. Rep Sensenbrenner said that she “lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.”

Sensenbrenner apologizes to Michelle Obama

In her husband's second term Michelle found a level of freedom, since her actions would not impact any potential re-election (She didn't foresee Trump wanting to rejig the US constitution for Presidential 3rd terms to be possible). She changed up the way she dressed, her hairstyle and her advocacy stepped up for military families and her childhood health campaigns.

I think there is a Catherine pre- and post-cancer.

Pre-cancer Catherine religiously toed the line. She barely let any personality slip through and was super-cautious earning the label "she never puts a foot wrong." Each event was delivered professionally, like clockwork, Easter, Trooping, Wimbledon, Ascot, Remembrance and Christmas, with classic timeless clothing interspersed with a tour or two, year-end galas and state dinner or two. A steady diet of engagement with a smiling Catherine was dutifully delivered time and time again.

And yet, all this was for naught as she was absolutely annihilated as she was fighting for her life with the most egregious vilification on social media, from traditional media and possibly worst of all by public figures who should have known better than to pile on, given their own struggles in the public glare.

IMHO, post-cancer Catherine seems 100% done being nice to a hostile media (traditional or social), which made a ton of money off her each time she attended an event. Her absence is her keenest weapon. You cannot compel her to appear in public beyond State events...and the public, as we can see from this discussion board is struggling her absence. The Crown got its heirs, and she is not yet Queen or Councilor of State. She literally has no constitutional requirements...none!

And if indeed Republicans carry the day, her husband walks away with a billion-dollar Duchy. Republicans may want to understand asset-based lending and in particular the importance of title...if you're going to challenge unbroken title since 1337 good luck having a* *£1,678.2 billion mortgage market as now almost all titles are now open for challenge. And good luck with the pound in that scenario!

I said I didn’t understand why you were so bothered about why the Prince of Wales not attending a public Easter service unless you were a devout Protestant or Royalist (groups who have a legitimate reason for being upset about him not attending), when you said you were not, I did not label you so, just stated that I didn’t understand your point of view considering you were not one or the other. I recommend you reread the thread carefully.

I like your thought process, even if I don’t necessarily agree with it (just because they didn’t always spend Christmas with the Royal family). I do wish Catherine would say a big fuck you to the media though! And I like that she isn’t releasing her photos to them any more.

I’ve explained the use of love emojis as being interpreted as passive aggression. It’s a common way of some people to argue.

You need to read the initial posts.

I can’t keep going over the same points.

It’s past midnight now and at no point are we going to agree on anything. We’ve entered the twilight zone. There’s no chance of any positive outcome. Nothing good happens after 12.

Goodnight @PrettyFlyforaMaiTai

I never thought I’d be taken as a bad actor on an RF thread but I’ve tried my best to be civil. Even if it dragged on.
