Watching the news about the horrendous rubbish problem in Birmingham, this was followed by Kates film clip rambling about Windermere saying we need to connect with nature and couldn’t help thinking it was inappropriate.I bet cancer sufferers in Birmingham would love to do this instead of holding down a job worrying about col doing chores that I bet she never does and have stinking rubbish with rats in the streets. I have no problem with her video but thought the timing was so off. They sometimes need to read the room.

Jeff, im ok.

I never thought I’d be taken as a bad actor on an RF thread but I’ve tried my best to be civil. Even if it dragged on.

Ok 👍

I like your thought process, even if I don’t necessarily agree with it (just because they didn’t always spend Christmas with the Royal family). I do wish Catherine would say a big fuck you to the media though! And I like that she isn’t releasing her photos to them any more.

Edited

IMHO, the big f* you is posting photos direct to the Wales social media accounts. AP, royal rota and others lost guaranteed cash flow from photo licensing.

I think that C grasps that the media (new and old) does not care about her but cares very much about the cash it makes from her appearances. And by simply absenting herself or posting photos direct to her social media, C has walloped the media in the wallet!

What I'm hoping for is Andrew walks into the church and the minister suggests that they all pray for Andrew to repent.

Then the minister suggests that we pray for the safety of the Sussexes in the gun-happy and tariff- happy US.

If this actually happens, then it is because William paid off the minister and gave an excuse not to attend the service so that no one can heard him laughing.

Serenster · 18/04/2025 07:51

It’s certainly not shared on this thread, but the public does have certain expectations of William. Easter service, which he has attended for decades being one small one. It’s why it’s being reported in the press. Not just by the DM.

Some facts here, in case they are helpful. In the 25 years since 2000, William and then Kate have attended the Easter service at Windsor in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023. That’s it.

They may well have attended Easter services elsewhere - in the year 2000 for example William went to the service in Craithie Kirk with his father. And in 2011, shortly before their wedding, William and Kate went to the Easter service in Bucklebury.

In the same 25 year period, Charles and Camilla have only attended since Charles was monarch - I.e. 2023, 2024 and this year. They normally spend Easter in Scotland, as others have said.

it’s being reported because anything the Wales do is of interest. When the Mail calls it a “major break in tradition” they are therefore wrong, but when has that ever stopped them?

Cathandkin · 18/04/2025 07:56

Thanks, @Serenster . A voice of reason!
So the C of E isn't threatened, world order remains and we can all carry on playing Cluedo, even if The Rev. Green is a bad 'un.
The Daily Mail ought not to be taken as a reliable source when it comes to Prince William. (among otters).

NewAgeNewMe · 18/04/2025 07:56

I said on the Andrew thread that it occurred to me when William was driving Andrew to church that it was apt the future head of the church was driving a sinner to one. Now if Andrew does as Bemused suggests then who can complain about him going to church to repent of his sins. Genius.

My2cents1975 I think the PoW was done after the Mother’s Day photo imo. That for her was the final line the media crossed. She played fair up to then, but the way some people behaved when she was unwell was despicable. But I think it was the photo that broke the camels back.

As for William attending Easter at Windsor? I’m not fussed, as I suspect he’s had faith rocked by his brother’s and uncle’s behaviours and both his dad and wife fighting cancer.

He’s also looking at possibly being King sooner than he would have wished. Would make me question it all as well.

Cathandkin · 18/04/2025 07:59

William driving a sinner to Church?
Surely the Good Lord would approve of such Christian behaviour?

StIgantius · 18/04/2025 08:00

Maybe the PoW should be helping out on the bins?

NewAgeNewMe · 18/04/2025 08:00

I don’t know if he was driving him to church as I never bothered to check it out I just found it ironical if he was.

Cathandkin · 18/04/2025 08:03

Yes, he should hop to it. Has he ever done anything about the Scouts? I think we should be told.

utterexasperation · 18/04/2025 08:03

Thank you @Serenster. The facts are always enlightening.

I'm loving that autocorrect to OTTERS 😂😂😂😂

I think everyone needs an otter this morning!

Breaking news!
Prince William identifies as an otter!

Look at that otter. Just hanging around in the water when there's bins to be emptied.
Plus - when did you last see one in Church?
Lazy, good for nothing back swimming water mammals

NewAgeNewMe · 18/04/2025 08:07

That would really break the media and SM! Maybe we should start a rumour William is self id as an otter!

I say we go for it. So many people would believe it 🤣!

Cathandkin · 18/04/2025 08:10

Has anyone noticed that Prince William has grown a beard? He seems to be getting more hairy. I've also heard that he swims in the Buckingham Palace pond every day. Plus: what's with all that tuna being ordered to KP?.🤔

Dorosomethingbeautiful · 18/04/2025 08:12

@Rhaidimiddim what does this have to do with Harry?

This thread reminds me of the deeply unpleasant “Where is Kate” thread from this time last year. Trying to find a reason to have a pop. We all remember how that ended up! None of us know what’s going on behind closed doors so let them be. They are doing nothing wrong.

100% agree with you .
I sincerely hope everything is ok.

That's a very good point.

LaMarschallin · 18/04/2025 09:04

I sincerely hope everything is ok.

So do I.
There was a mention yesterday of a thread from roughly this time last year (just before a flurry of posts about Easter church attendance) that expressed concern for people that might have felt guilty about speculating on the "Where is Kate?" theme.
This is a quote from the opening post:

I enjoy robust mental health, but I feel a little sad and down today about the news. And a little guilty. It occurs to me that it might be a real source of distress to some other people. Not the big media ghouls, of course, they have no shame and will just move on to the next thing without looking back, but for those of us who bought in to the whole farrago and maybe posted things we now wish we hadn't. So remember, the media often manipulates us, the establishment often lies to us and it's actually a good thing not to immediately take what we're told at face value.

The underlining is mine.
It's something to bear in mind.

If anyone with less "robust mental health" than the OP did feel guilty or uncomfortable about anything they posted, I imagine they wouldn't want to feel that again.

This kind of says it all really. It seems to be a Monarch expectation and not a 3 line whip for everyone else, as I'm sure the late QEII could have put her foot down about Charles attending as PoW.

Mail having a pop and all a bit of a non issue IMO.
