No, it was said that no details about what Catherine was wearing would be given. The fact that she actually wears British brands and that it is easy to find out what she is wearing ( there was a fashion piece that I read today doing just that wrt the clothes she was in the scouting video) means that she is indeed actively promoting British brands. Just read this detail from Spare in the above article, from Harry relating how Charles had said Meghan shouldn't come to Balmoral when the late Queen was about to die:

Meghan is the only member of the family merchandising brands. You know very well that people admire outfits that the royals wear and want to wear the same, often meaning that the garments sell out. It's an unintended but inevitable outcome.

Same with when they visit other countries. The women tend to pay homage in their dressing. You know this. Kate will still be wearing British brands and even if KP don't announce it, they will be identified.

Meghan had no interest in British brands when she lived here.
