No one’s demonstrating the runny consistency of the coulis …or eating it. Just pics of jars and packaging…..

I’m sure that will come in time, I was tackling the claim that this was all a scam and orders weren’t arriving etc

Bontonbonbon · 07/04/2025 20:01

I still think it is a scam but quite a clever one. There are products but very few, they are over priced for the quality of the items and being targeted at a particular fan group. Scarcity is being made to exploit that group and make sure they keep buying.

This is why it reminds me so much of Lula Roe. People are being manipulated into purchasing low quality goods with emotional/ social pressure for the sake of a millionaire founder.

As I said before, I find this an extremely strange move from Meghan. These fans have been so loyal, so vocal. Why rip them off for her own gain in such a tacky fashion?

She had other, more personalised options. Why didn’t she take that route?

Sorry that doesn’t wash with me. Meghan is not the first and won’t be the last to sell spreads and tea.she had a life style blog before she married Harry, this isn’t a new space.

i do want a fashion collab though

I think all you’re pointing out is that this is her M.O, which is shallow influencer self marketing. She’s come full circle. Which is why this has gone over so well with her OG stans. They recognise this Meghan well. It’s the rest of the world which finds it baffling. Never had someone thrown away so much good will in the pursuit of climbing the gory ladder of fame and fortune.

Given that Harry and Meghan need to fund their extravagant lifestyle, I had expected that Meghan would throw everything at an attempt to create a proper business. I thought a food empire was an odd direction to go in but at least she'd be involved in recipe creation, product development, organic certification, sourcing producers, setting up a manufacturing base, etc. I thought there would be some personal investment in trying to make it a financial success. But no, it's just bog standard fan merch with all the important processes outsourced to a faceless company.

The whole American Riviera Orchard/With Love, Meghan/As Ever trajectory has been so odd. The platform, Netflix, was huge; the premise was all hand-picked, handmade, garden-to-plate; the product is anonymously-produced, zero-provenance and not even organic; the product launch has been confused and strangely low-key. It's all so half-arsed and short-term. It's very clear that no money has been put into this. Can you imagine Martha Stewart or Mary Berry putting their name on something and caring so little about the end product?

Ellmau · 07/04/2025 21:53

I don't think it's a deliberate scam. She's just incompetent.

derxa · 07/04/2025 22:05

These packet mixes sound revolting. Who buys them?

I’m in two minds about the titles but then I see Fergie using Duchess of York on her books and Princess Michael of Kent doing the same and using HRH.

there are no rules to it.

Actually there are rules. Clearly you don't know this. Princess Michael is entitled to be so called following her marriage to Prince Michael of Kent. Sarah, Duchess of York, is permitted to use the title following her divorce.

Any more little daft gems you can come up with?!

I wouldn't order from her if she was the last online retailer on earth.

But it’s not a traditional food company.

It’s not run by Meghan. She’s outsourced it to Snow Commerce, which is a fandom merchandising company that works with TV Networks. Their MO is to manipulate the fans and cash in on their loyalty.

It’s not about the product. The product could literally be anything. This isn’t high quality food they are producing that they love. This is a limited drop each time, to excite the fans and get them scrambling over the tiny numbers that are being released.

It’s a cynical, cheap, exploitative, grubby cash grab.

But she's not going to make any money doing that, is she.

It remains to be seen whether there are enough people wanting to buy packet shortbread mix in large enough quantities to leave her with a profit once Snow have taken their cut.

BemusedAmerican · 07/04/2025 23:17

I'll be interested to see how many excited fans they have.

BTW, this is why people want to know the origin of their honey. This article also tells you how to check if your honey is adulterated:

No, but it’s the optics. that she can sell out any product- that’s her power. So that she gets in the big influencer money deals. It’s all manipulation.

So is she going to be making huge amounts from the royalties of limited drops via Snow Commerce…..absolutely not. It’s not a legit premium food company….its just fan merching. But it’s all about building up Meghans overall brand which in Megs mind, As ever is just one small part of

She’s looking for the big influencer money. That she can command huge sums when she can ‘demonstrate’ that she can bring along a loyal customer base with spending power.

And always looking for the easy way out. I worked with someone like this - full of ideas but no persistence or aptitude to realise them.

She is an enigma.

There's nothing enigmatic, imo, about being incompetent AND arrogant. She has no proven talent other than hustling. That's all she's done, from the very beginning. Try her hand at one thing, then another, then another, then another, dropping each one (and each associated person/team) when it's lived out its possibilities or a better one appears on the horizon, moving onto the next. I have always respected her for the hustle. It takes a lot of effort and energy and A LOT of optimism (or self-belief, in her case). But it's possible to be a decent person while you're at it, and that MM isn't. There's nothing enigmatic about her at all. She's as transparent as a sheet of glass.

AtIusvue · 07/04/2025 23:31

It’s why she’s launching her influencer career in tandem. Why out up a shopmy page of wedding makeup- she married 7 years ago? Why now?

It’s because her main business is influencing. As ever is a limited project, business exercise to show how powerful she is.

There’s no way, if she was properly invested in this, she would let someone else run it and she just take a cut of royalties. I also don’t think she would sell cupboard UPF crap but she’s somewhat limited using a fandom merchandising company- so this is about as fancy as it will get.

This is an easy way for her to trial the markets with zero financial risk to her, bit of cash coming her way, build up her fanbase and exposure and look to get the $$$$$$$ posts for insta.

BemusedAmerican · 07/04/2025 23:33

If anyone finally gets some of her honey, do what the article says and shove a match into it. If the match burns the honey is unadulterated.

Ellmau · 07/04/2025 23:40

I will sheepishly admit here that last weekend we had pancakes made with a shop bought mix. I don't know that I'd do it again, but they weren't awful.

It really is so cynical and grabby! I think TLQ and Prince Philip must be spinning in their graves!

mainecooncatonahottinroof · 08/04/2025 00:07

Are there no depths she isn't prepared to plumb? Has Harry totally lost his mind?!
