I think William was thinking about his mother when they donated to Sentebale. Although you'd be forgiven for thinking that Harry was an only child.
Again, supporting Invictus was a way of W&C supporting Harry, although he of course would never admit that.

How can Meredith Maines NOT resign? It's career ending stuff, working for the Sussexes in PR or comms, surely?

This is her LinkedIn profile, it doesn't mention charities so maybe she feels she can sit this out 😉

In my view, SC's bravery will embolden others, not shut them down. As an example, ejecting Harry from Invictus to be rid of him and Meghan and establish the charity on a proper footing would result in a torrent of abuse in the media and on social media, but that might be a price worth paying.

I was wondering about this, and hoping it will be so.

Skimpyy · 01/04/2025 13:58

SatinBall · 01/04/2025 13:07

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have some extremely sympathetic support behind the scenes.

It was said on previous thread, Harry is toast. The Sussex brand is over. Meghan will keep posting passive aggressive pictures of lemon, croissants, toddler fingers and dogs on Insta.

If there were ever a cautionary tale of how not to behave and what to avoid...

Why / how are MM's insta posts passive aggressive?

IdaGlossop · 01/04/2025 13:58

Uricon2 · 01/04/2025 13:42

Where is Meredith Maines new head of comms in this shitshow? I can only think she is either out of the loop or being ignored (or some combo of the two)

I'm pretty sure she can't think the current "strategy" is anything other than insane and I would not be surprised if she'll bail PDQ. Who would blame her?

MM (the comms one!) Is in a cleft stick. If she leaves, it will look as though she lacks resilience. If she stays, it will look as though she's done a poor job, even if she's been ignored. The lesson is clear: don't work for H&M. After this, It's going to get even harder for them to get staff.

Bontonbonbon · 01/04/2025 14:05

If anyone wants to see just how the Sussex Squad are twisting things then look up the Royal Tea Reddit. It is unhinged cult nonsense.

I do wonder if it run by those poor manipulated women Meg groomed when they were teenagers.

Rhaidimiddim · 01/04/2025 14:06

Well, if you were the editor of the DM and this article landed in your lap, wouldn't you have fun with it?

Their print-version cover is also a little mischevious today.

AtIusvue · 01/04/2025 14:06

This looks to be one of the allegations of racism.

https://archive.ph/9avJr

The Times:

The Duke of Sussex wrote to the chair of his charity in November after she raised complaints of “bullying” and “racism” following a claim that a white trustee likened her leadership to the white minority rule of 1960s Rhodesia.

Sophie Chandauka, the Zimbabwe-born lawyer who became chair of Sentebale in July 2023, claims that she was denied a one-on-one meeting with Prince Harry in which she hoped to discuss the dynamics of the board.
In November, she made a complaint in writing to an independent trustee in which she described herself as a “whistleblower” and raised concerns of “public and private” examples of “bullying”, “racism” and “misogyny”.

The Times understands that one white trustee compared Chandauka’s leadership to “UDI”, a reference to the 1965 unilateral declaration of independence in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe.
Led by the prime minister Ian Smith, white minority leaders illegally declared independence from Britain to crush black opposition.

The comment referencing her country’s colonial past is said to have incensed Chandauka as one of several examples of behaviour at the charity.
Chandauka emailed some of her concerns to a trustee in November last year and then wrote to Harry separately.
She is understood to have said she would be open to an “independent investigation” into her concerns at the charity.
Chandauka claims to have asked the Duke of Sussex for a one-on-one meeting in which she planned to air her grievances but it is understood that the request was denied.
When Chandauka became aware that trustees wanted to eject her, she launched legal proceedings in the High Court to stop it.
On March 5, she lodged an application for a stay, which paused board meetings for six weeks, preventing her from being removed.

I’m beginning to wonder if the daily Mail are playing a little game with Harry!!!

they must have known they had the article about dr c closing her twitter down due to racist and abusive comments ,
yet they ran his little article first ?! 🤔

This is exactly what I thought. It feels like they're setting up a trap and putting out articles in a very strategic way. The statement piece was behind a paywall to limit the views. But the quote about SC being jealous she wasn't the most important WOC on stage was so abhorrent that it's almost like they're waiting for it to leak to other press sources and get picked up organically on social media.

Conundrumseverywhere · 01/04/2025 13:19

I thought they had a mortgage?

It's all a bit murky. The Montecito house was owned by Russian Oligarch Sergei Grishin before H&M got it. Grishin was a dodgy character said to have orchestrated a huge band fraud in the 1990s and a critic of Putin. He died aged 56 in Moscow - allegedly of sepsis.

I think also the house they lived in after Megxit in Canada was owned - via a trust - by an oligarch.

Well it’s starting to trickle out now isn’t it!

AtIusvue · 01/04/2025 14:11

This is going to be a death by a thousand cuts.

Im sure Harry is doing all he can to get the lawyers to keep her silenced but it’s obviously not working.

AtIusvue · 01/04/2025 14:12

Keeping the stories coming, slowly but surely, is def the way to go. Keeps it in everyone’s mind.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 01/04/2025 13:36

Meghan was also "insulted" by the offer of assistance from equerry Lt. Col. Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah.

If that’s true it’s shocking, offended that a man of colour was offered to Meghan to help her? surely that is actual racism?

Omid Scobie wrote about it in Endgame so it is pretty clear the information came from her or her "friends". It just got drowned out by the "royal racist" leak.

Rhaidimiddim · 01/04/2025 14:15

BigWillyLittleTodger · 01/04/2025 13:25

Ive been wondering about Williams and Charles reaction to Harry’s bully boy statement and now Dr Sophie being horrendously trolled, surely there comes a point when Harry’s behaviour is so abhorrent that it really is detrimental to the Royal family and therefore our Country? Our Head of State’s son is publicly bullying a black woman, the optics are just awful, not sure what they can or would be able to do but Harry carrying on with impunity really does call into question never complain never explain, though nothing was done either when Catherine was on the receiving end so I doubt the palace will respond, Harry’s hubris and bullying ways will continue for years unchallenged and now that everyone has seen what happens when someone does dare to stand up to them it will scare a lot of people to not speak. Harry and Meghan are tyrants they really are.

But it never stops when you are dealing with a Narc. They will always have to have the last word. As long as a Narc has energy and the resources to do so they will clap back again and again if you cross them or respond.

Grey- rocking is the only way - they are now leaving the RF alone, both the institute and the individuals they were once targetting.

H& M will always have the money to command attention, which is annoying; but they are running down their other resources - credibility, friends, and other individuals prepared to go out and bat for them. Hopefully one daybthey will be so irrelevant that they no longer command headlines, and we can all go and froth about something else in our spare time.

It’s almost like fishing isn’t it?
little bits of bait … just waiting for big mouth Harry to bite with another moronic clap back!

My understanding of defamation and slander (presuming that's what Harry is citing) from a legal perspective is limited but presumably that route is not open to him as SC has evidence of her allegetions and what she is saying is credible, based on what Harry has revealed about himself over the last four years.

Don't forget Lady Hussey was put forward to help her too. Tina Brown asks (in the Palace Papers), what this old white woman who had worked for he palace for 50 years could teach Meghan. I think tongue firmly in cheek.

Scobie makes it clear what MM wanted: the person who should have been helping Meghan and who cruelly failed to help, was Catherine.

The palace were absolutely spot on keeping defined boundaries between C and MM. Meg was already showing zero sense of respect for how much effort was being done to gently induct her into royal life by a neutral figure. Her trying to become Catherine’s new BFF would have been a huge risk if they’d fallen out - which of course MM made happen anyway with her constant over reach and hypersensitivity. If anything she has torched her own path because she couldn’t have equal standing to someone she saw as her equal. It’s so grandiose and narcissistic it’s not funny. She’s like a parody of a narcissist.

It’s over for the sussexes. Commercially and philanthropically. He jumped because he had to - the charity is going to be put under a microscope and it will have implications for the whole sector and celebrity platforms as a whole. Which is not before time. Let’s face it, he is probably leveraged his entire life in order to give his wife the cushy billionaire status she wanted. And now it is allllll going to come out. People don’t play dirty unless they’re scared and he is. I would imagine the RF would offer him support in helping minimise the damage but as per usual he won’t take advice from anyone and keeps making it all worse. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is back in the fold at some point, exiled like his uncle. And MM will take the high moral ground and remain in the US. Who knows. But they put themselves in this position and there aren’t that many options available to them at this point, other than opening up Montecito on Airbnb.

I think you are giving too much weight to the CC investigation. The CC investigation will focus on the legalities of the way the trustees ran the charity. Harry was not a trustee so is exempt from their investigation except in regards to how the trustees responded to him.

Uricon2 · 01/04/2025 14:21

One of the white trustees comparing a black Zimbabwean (male or female) to the Ian Smith regime in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) is an appalling insult designed to wound, demean and infuriate.

As far as I can see it is one of 3 men and a matter of time until it becomes clear which of them is alleged to have said this and my main thought is what the Hell next?

Sounds like she has evidence for everything she says.

Wrote a letter to a trustee/Harry about the Rhodesia slur

There’s a document of Harry asking her to defend Meghan and asking her to explain herself when she didn’t.

The minutes of the meeting where Harry didn’t follow procedure to put a trustee on the board

Poor woman only started working there on March 3rd - and has had the As Ever shitshow and Sentebale fiasco to deal with in those 4 weeks.
