It feels like [Dr Chandauka] had her nose put out of joint because she was not the most important woman of colour on the stage.
‘There is an undercurrent of stink here because Meghan showed up and it is coming from her [Dr Chandauka].’

Please please tell me this is an April fool?

So even if a black women complains it must be rooted in racism? I can not get over this comment.

potsandmud · 01/04/2025 07:50

Something tells me the new PR may not have been fully across this media carnage. I think he’s delusional. This is really not good on any level. It makes him look bitter, unhinged, misogynistic, and completely departed from reality. Even to point out that the polo venue fuck up was an admin error is so wrong. It just goes to show how stupid he is. Venues offer knock down prices for charity of course they do. ENTIRELY different if Netflix want in as a COMMERCIAL entity. It’s got nothing to do with sponsors not wanting coverage - it’s the fact that they don’t want to be entangled in a very murky world where H&M are using charity as a commercial platform to their own brand and interests. EVERYONE can see it apart from them. Why should a venue at the lowest common denominator offer a cheap rate knowing that this is essentially now a TV shoot and therefore a completely different thing to a polo match. Why does everyone have to bend to what they want without any say in the matter let alone money changing hands. He is so naive and stupid it’s not true.

Harry’s friend is Head of Comms and a veteran of the industry……apparently

Somehow that makes it so much worse. This is his actual bloody job.

A Head of Comms would never have issued such an amateurish statement

tattychicken · 01/04/2025 07:51

I'm confused why the Fail have that story, apparently with Harry's permission. He hates the Fail.

SatinBall · 01/04/2025 07:52

Upset, hurt, and wounded all at once?

Good grief, Harry sounds like a 13-year-old drama queen whose Wi-Fi’s been cut off. Princes of the past would’ve been wounded in battle, fighting off invaders to protect their kingdom, or enduring real hardships.

But here’s Harry, stomping around his lemon grove, acting like the world’s come to a crashing halt over perfectly predictable and fair consequences for his reckless and unkind actions, as if he’s the world’s biggest victim. Has Harry been binge-watching telenovelas?

He'll definitely need an extra potent sprinkling of dried flowers and a lovingly made pre-packaged pancake from his wife’s passive-aggressive gastronomy to elevate his princely experience and set the world right.

Yup

I think Rayner has just had his Ratner moment.

Isn't the DM the group he still has outstanding litigation against?

EsmaCannonball · 01/04/2025 07:54

People who let a charity use their land for a polo event and people who sign up to play in a charity polo match are not necessarily going to be happy about being featured in what was essentially a Netflix reality show about the polo world. Harry doesn't appreciate that not everyone is as thirsty for the limelight as his wife and himself and that consent is required for that kind of thing.

In her version of events Sophie Chandauka wasn't that bothered about Meghan turning up on stage, just mentioning it as the kind of minor logistical problem lack of foreknowledge can bring. Her main issue was Harry demanding she used Sentebale for his wife's personal PR management and then turning nasty when she wouldn't compromise the integrity of the charity.

How stupid and boorish and unpleasant is Harry? What a knob.

Serenster · 01/04/2025 07:54

Just listening to Richard Osman’s podcast and he just made this exact point about his copyright as an author. If a charity approaches him to use some of his material, they have to ask, but he will say yes. If someone approaches him for a commercial purpose, where they will be making money out of his work, they not only have to ask, but they will have to pay.

Edited

It’s just disgusting. Megan has just done a lot to distance herself as a supporter to women. This is just horrible and dirty.

Vespanest · 01/04/2025 07:55

I have a feeling that Alex Rayner didn't check that Harry hadn't been on the wacky baccie. I wonder how Oprah coped with not being the most important woman of colour in the interview with Meghan, was that jealousy why she removed the interview. Is the double whammy of sexism and racism

Galdownunder · 01/04/2025 07:55

I gotta admit I enjoying watching the feathers fly down here. It’s been as clear as day what a mendacious, ugly, spiteful pair of pricks H&M are and now there’s really no coming back. They might as well just shut their front door permanently because no one will come knocking ever again I don’t think after this. Sucked in is what we say for these situations 😝

It is. But they are also the largest read online newspaper in the country and I'd wage that right now he hates Sophie Chandauka more than he does the press and can see that the DM could be useful for him to get his lies statements out there to a wide audience.

So funny. But also so true!

MayaKovskaya · 01/04/2025 07:57

Also, to be fair, the Sussexes do give information to the DM, and they have a favourable writer, Bryony Gordon.
I don't think they have any problems with using the Daily Mail.

tattychicken · 01/04/2025 07:59

@AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta which entirely fits in with SC's statement re using the press he disdains for his own purpose. Or something similar!

Profhilodisaster · 01/04/2025 08:00

I hate the use of the word jealous as a cover all for any perceived wrong, it smacks of 14 year old kids in the playground .

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 01/04/2025 08:00

@MayaKovskaya I don't think they have any problems with using the Daily Mail.

Or with biting the hand that feeds them.

CorrectionCentre · 01/04/2025 08:01

Dear God. If that interview is intended to support PH and address the issues raised by SC, they are deluded. It's a shit piece in and of itself ("like losing finger" eh? Weird analogy, an undercurrent of stink??) , but in addition, it reinforces everything SC has claimed!

Not a hint of evidence as to what would justify demanding the resignation of the chair of the board. the situation is that she has failed to administrate her role. Did she? Did she really? Saying it doesn't make it so.

What's stopping them putting forward evidence to support the accusations of maladministration?

Instead, he accuses SC of jealousy! That illustrates what his conversation with PH was all about. No getting to grips with charity governance - just how the Sussexes are feeling. It reinforces Harry’s delusion that as he was a founder, his feelings were the paramount factor, not the charity.

Absolutely, it's so tiresome. "You're just jealous". Such a ridiculous claim, as if we're back in the playground.

Certainly does. But who to trust? A proven liar or a eloquent, well educated woman who is "jealous' 🤔.
