Born in the 60’s. Was not allowed to watch ITV. My mum is from the north west and would occasionally watch Corrie but we weren’t allowed to. Goodness only knows why!

If you are a sponsor then of course you would want the exposure from a Netflix documentary, so this whole story seems simply untrue

This completely misses the point that if Netflix had turned up at the polo match it would have changed the whole event from a charitable one to a commercial one , which is the reason the venue owners changed the terms and wanted to charge for the use of the polo field.

Why let silly boring old facts get in the way of a good narrative.

Thinking more about what was said, it gives us more insight into exactly why they left TRF, Meghan wasn't going to be the most important person, ever in that family, and she hated it, so they flounced, loads of people said this is the reason.

Said it at the time. Told we were deluded. Clearly not.

MissRoseDurward · 01/04/2025 07:26

‘He set up Sentebale with a schoolfriend....'

Schoolfriend? I don't know if Seeiso is an Old Etonian, but he's much too old to have been a schoolfriend of Harry's. He would have left school before H was even born.

CesarSoubreyon · 01/04/2025 07:27

He's also not taking into account the privacy of the guests with the Netflix documentary.

You can't just rock up with a film crew and record people without their permission!

Weepixie · 01/04/2025 04:01

The fact you are having to ask says way more about you than anyone else.

Unless you are a friend of Charles, I don’t see how you are privy to his private feelings.

I wasn’t allowed to watch it either!

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 01/04/2025 07:30

@MissRoseDurward My truth innit. I mean I went to my local comprehensive school with the late Princess Margaret, despite her being many decades older than me. That isn't the truth but my truth.

Not2identifying · 01/04/2025 07:31

That statement is appalling. They insist on having the last word and it does them no favours at all. Wonder what the new comms person thinks of this.

SidekickSylvia · 01/04/2025 07:35

They're still telling people to 'clap back' on their behalf, even though it just makes it worse, time and time again.

I can't believe he's made out that SC was upset about being less important, because she wasn't less important, other than in H & M's head. So it's an admission that they see her as 'lesser than', and that it's the kind of status downgrade that bothers them when it happens (like walking behind W and C). What an admission of narcissism.

They are so immature.

Vespanest · 01/04/2025 07:16

So tell me there is no misogynoir when a white bloke or maybe two believes that a highly successful women's motives are down to being not the most successful black woman on the stage. Piece of shit.

If ever a quote backed up what Sophie has been saying, this was it.

The "everyone is jealous of Meghan" argument just isn't true. It's been leveled against too many women now. A feminist Harry is not.

Rhetorical question but I wonder if they ran it by the comms team before releasing this ?

Conundrumseverywhere · 01/04/2025 07:38

I just struggle to imagine what it’s like to live in their heads where everyone is jealous of them, they are permanently in a state of outrage and victim hood, and actually fewer and fewer want to know them. It’s a very strange bubble they live in which bears no relationship to reality. Where will it end?

JADS · 01/04/2025 07:39

Everything about that article is Sussex War Room Script. At least there is an actual friend, one of Harry's white posho mates though.

Losing a finger isn't really a big deal in the scheme of things and felt very at odds with the melodramatic sense of loss.

And it's in the Daily Mail which we aren't supposed to believe...

Vespanest · 01/04/2025 07:40

to use a Meghan approved language, the lens that these two white blokes have viewed the event is exactly proving Sophie point, she was not a representative of Sentebale she was merely a jealous black woman, whose crime was not defending Meghan for Meghans actions. Nothing has changed, the royal family were all jealous of Meghan it's just wash and repeat.

EsmaCannonball · 01/04/2025 07:41

Oof, that awful statement from Harry's friend just proves the 'Sussex PR machine' aspect of Sophie Chandauka's accusations is right. Harry and Meghan use pet magazines, pet journalists, friends and the Sussex Squad to do their dirty work while the pair of them pretend to be zen humanitarians wafting around the hills of Montecito, above all that nasty business.

Harry's posh friend doesn't address any of the substantive issues about the governance of the charity or the effect of Harry's behaviour on the practicalities of running a charitable organisation; it's just 'uppity black woman was jealous of my wife' and 'won't anybody think about Harry's mental health?' cry-bullying. Ugh.

Profhilodisaster · 01/04/2025 07:42

I image the new comms woman is laying down in a dark room with a bottle of gin.

BasiliskStare · 31/03/2025 20:01

What ! What! I am not tall so maybe he is tall enough though. Oh back in the day those eyes and the little smile. I am truly envious.

@smilesy aah, that makes me really sad.

I met David Essex. He is, unfortunately, very short but I have to say his eyes (many years ago at least) were the most mesmerising thing I’ve ever seen…

My 18 yo is the most lovely, clever, handsome young man and very short.
I always worry about peoples' attitudes to his height and you have just confirmed again that there are many people that think it's an almost pitiable thing to be a short man.

Just googled, he's 58 years old, Harry's what 40? How bad are old Etonians at Maths?

Conundrumseverywhere · 01/04/2025 07:45

When all else fails, wheel out your old Etonian friends, I say.

LemonLeaves · 01/04/2025 07:45

That statement 😬

Huge error of judgement to say that you're happy for your mate to speak for you - as it makes it clear that A) you are briefing and reacting, and B) that you're clearly too feart (as my granny used to say) to do it yourself.

The two schoolfriends setting up a charity line is unintentionally hilarious. As if Harry and his mate from the next street over decided to put their Citizenship Education classes to good use.

It also completely torpedoes the script that the rest of the squad are sticking to - that we should wait for the outcome, unprofessional to keep 'touring the newsrooms' and so on.

Profhilodisaster · 01/04/2025 07:47

If I were Sophie Chandauka right now , my finger would be hovering over the Send button of any incriminating emails.

Mylovelygreendress · 01/04/2025 07:47

Ohpleeeease · 01/04/2025 07:04

I do wish people wouldn’t use this argument. There are not two sides to every story, there are different versions but they do not have equal value. Would you say of an DV situation or rape that there were two sides to that story?

Things are not black or white but please let’s not minimise Harry bullying a woman as “the other side of the story”.

I am so glad you said that . My exh was very violent and once launched an attack because I was 15 minutes late home from work ( traffic) and ended up in hospital.
Were there 2 sides to that story ?

I've already answered your question on this - the wording in my post was quite clear that I was speculating. I'm not quite sure how you have concluded that I'm trying to suggest otherwise.
