That statement is appalling. They insist on having the last word and it does them no favours at all. Wonder what the new comms person thinks of this.

This is the problem with Harry and Meghan- they always have to clap back immediately with no real thought process or strategy behind it.

It's why they keep losing decent professional staff. They won't take any advice, and then it makes the actual PR people look bad.

good bit of taxidermy if it's the dead one!

Maybe that's what H has been doing with his days.

Certainly does. But who to trust? A proven liar or a eloquent, well educated woman who is "jealous' 🤔.

Who to trust? Let me think.
Having read Spare and seen their claims on Netflix et al, it's not a difficult choice.

It feels like [Dr Chandauka] had her nose put out of joint because she was not the most important woman of colour on the stage.
‘There is an undercurrent of stink here because Meghan showed up and it is coming from her [Dr Chandauka].’

Please please tell me this is an April fool?

So even if a black women complains it must be rooted in racism? I can not get over this comment.

Edited

When you see that part of the statement standing alone, it makes it even worse, as it goes straight for the angry Black woman trope without even being subtle about it.

Two wealthy upper class white men attacking a Black woman looks unbelievably bad on its own. But when you consider that the DoS has previously talked about light skin privilege and racism, and PH has talked about him learning about unconscious bias and racism, it's even more damaging.

I wonder how either of them can look at this offensive and demeaning statement and think it fits with their narrative of empowering women and fighting racism? It's supposed to be the antithesis of everything they stand for.

I've already answered your question on this - the wording in my post was quite clear that I was speculating. I'm not quite sure how you have concluded that I'm trying to suggest otherwise.

OK, sorry.

Also, to be fair, the Sussexes do give information to the DM, and they have a favourable writer, Bryony Gordon.
I don't think they have any problems with using the Daily Mail.

She was at the telegraph then and basically jumped at the career enhancing chance to write and record various “my real friend Harry” stories.

Is that what happened? Interesting. She's certainly getting a lot of stories and I couldn't work out why the DM was being so favourable to H&M.

I'm confused why the Fail have that story, apparently with Harry's permission. He hates the Fail.

I guess the awful terrible evil British Tabloid Media have their uses when Harry decides they do.

She always reminds me of those grief vultures, who when somebody they vaguely knew dies is wailing all over social media about how sad they are and were BFFs for life. Did she even know him in a personal capacity (when she didn't have her tape recorder running)? Did she go down the pub with him or attend his wedding?

Harry’s friend. Speaking on behalf of Harry.

If Harry’s thinks it’s a good idea his friend doing this, shows you what a shambles his communications team is. Also, that those around him, prop up the delusions.

Harry is upset and believes it a hostile takeover/conspiracy:

I can reveal that Alex Rayner, an old Etonian school friend of the prince, who went to the North Pole with him in 2012 and has been in contact with him over the weekend, said that Prince Harry is ‘shocked’ by the accusations made against him and ‘grief-stricken’ at the way the saga has unfolded.
‘H is very happy for me to speak for him about how he feels about this awful situation,’ said Rayner. ‘He is just beyond heartbroken and flabbergasted that the charity he founded as a teenager has been taken hostage by the chair. It feels tantamount to a hostile takeover.
‘He is so upset and hurt and wounded about the things that are being said about him. I think it’s too early to tell whether he will just walk away now or whether he might try and get it back.
‘The way he feels is as if he has had one of his fingers cut off.
‘He set up Sentebale with a schoolfriend when the death of his mum was a fresh memory. At the moment he is just in total shock about what is being said and the accusations being made.’

Dr Sophie is jealous of Meghan/ The script:

But Alex Rayner told me: ‘It feels like [Dr Chandauka] had her nose put out of joint because she was not the most important woman of colour on the stage.
‘There is an undercurrent of stink here because Meghan showed up and it is coming from her [Dr Chandauka].’

Polo drama should have been sorted by Dr Sophie/The Script:

Yet Alex Rayner said: ‘The chair should never have let that narrative take hold, that Meghan had caused an issue. ‘If that narrative did take hold, then I would argue it is down to the chair to put it right. They could have issued a statement and put a stop to it but they did not. Why? Again, the whole thing smells. It feels planned, and I suspect that the whole thing could only have come from the chair herself.

‘Any chair should have been delighted to have Meghan there. When you have both the Sussexes there it doubles the reaction, the power of it. And yet here she [Dr Chandauka] is refusing to get hold of a negative narrative which damages Meghan. It makes you wonder where it came from?’

Polo field loss:

Yet Rayner, who set up the annual Polo In The Park matches and has also worked with Harry on Sentebale events, said: ‘If you are a sponsor then of course you would want the exposure from a Netflix documentary, so this whole story seems simply untrue.
‘You cannot say that Harry’s brand is of no consequence to the charity, it simply does not stack up. Yes, he has gone from being the great hope of the British Royal Family to being seen as a pariah, but he still attracts a lot of exposure. And with a TV crew in tow – what sponsor would not want the global exposure?
This sounds like an excuse to cover up an administrative error at the charity. They lost the venue.’

The script:

He went on: ‘Let’s not get blinded by “let’s bash Harry” and by the idea that there were racial undertones in play... the situation is that she has failed to administrate her role. She was asked to step down and she refused and took over the charity.’

Gosh the delusion runs rapid in the upper classes.

“Anyone would be delighted we are there” really underpins Harry’s self importance. I’ve ran events - it’s annoying AF when people throw spanners in the works in a “You don’t mind do you?” Way. So disrespectful and shows the lack of consideration for the work of “the little people”. Also I think he thinks Meghan is Diana 2.0, and that people love her as much as they did his mum. They don’t. Diana had charm and charisma and kindness.

Re the Netflix thing - my local town just had a movie filmed here with A list stars and a big streaming service. It’s a v picturesque location and the local council and business hubs get a lot of requests for filming. Theres a massive difference in what they charge Netflix et al to exclusively use to public areas and close it off to the members of public vs when they charge charities to make a video or advert. They basically charge them the cost to close the public areas. If a charity was making an advert and it turns out a Netflix crew wanted to turn up to make it as part of a documentary, they would fully expect a loaded outfit like NF to be coughing up standard rate - the town itself is not a charity and neither were the polo ground in Miami. Fucking cheeky or what

SatinBall · 01/04/2025 08:17

It feels like [Dr Chandauka] had her nose put out of joint because she was not the most important woman of colour on the stage.
‘There is an undercurrent of stink here because Meghan showed up and it is coming from her [Dr Chandauka].’

Textbook example of misogynoir. A 'male, stale, pale' figure commenting on Dr Chandauka’s experience, suggesting that competition and jealousy are inherently at play between Black women. It's an extremely unfortunate attempt to undermine a professional and successful woman’s experience based on her identity to elevate a spoilt prince and his odd wife.

Referencing an 'undercurrent of stink' is not only aggressive and demeaning but also plays into disgusting stereotypes.

OMG. The Sussexes will not be able to peddle back form this public display of racist and misogynist bullying.

JandamiHash · 01/04/2025 08:17

TheNeedyKhakiPanda · 01/04/2025 07:07

I can't believe he's put out there that Dr Sophie didn't like it that she wasn't the most important woman of colour on the stage 😮

There’s a real arrogance to that - not least because several black people have said they don’t see Meghan as a black woman

Words · 01/04/2025 08:17

That Alex Rayner piece is utterly appalling and underlines everything SC said in her Sky interview. It's so crass.

What a stupid, stupid move from the Sussex side.

I can't possibly imagine this was sanctioned by their new comms person. She will be another quick exit after this I imagine.

ShamedBySiri · 01/04/2025 08:17

The whole interview is terrible. It reminds me of Fatty Soames coming out in support of Charles after Diana's Panorama interview. Cheap insults, sexism and added racism. Awful.

Not the worst of it obviously but "losing a finger"? Isn't the usual expression something like feeling as if one has lost one's right arm? (for right handed people). A finger? Not so bad then!

Also that picture of them all on the podium is so bad - as SC said, there were too many people on the podium. It doesn't showcase the polo players, the charity (and charity boss), it doesn't even do Meghan any favours, crammed in there. The player on the left is holding something that looks like an old VHS video, it can't be - is it a book or something? Maybe there's some very expensive Eau de Polo, "hints of sweat and hay, with a background of diesel, reminiscent of rolls with stable girls in the back of the horse box" inside it. Also who is the woman on the right towering over them all? No publicity for her whoever she is. The fourth man on the team is pushed out completely.

Vespanest · 01/04/2025 08:18

How long before Alex gets the phone call of you need to retract and apologise that it's all made up and has nothing to do with me. If you don't then expect a strong worded email demanding that you explain yourself.

Not2identifying · 01/04/2025 08:18

The power imbalance between Harry and any ordinary person just makes it astonishing that he'd launch a personal attack using the (despised) media and the fact SC is an African woman and he's still happy to go for her is astounding. I don't think she is but imagine the consequences for Harry if SC was mentally vulnerable and turned out to not be able to cope with his Royal displeasure...

MayaKovskaya · 01/04/2025 08:19

I think "the media" are only despised if they're negative.

I have no idea why Meghan is on the podium at all, and that's a genuine question.

CesarSoubreyon · 01/04/2025 08:21

I think Sophie just needs to sit back and watch Harry dig his own grave at this point.

She keeps the whole thing professional and makes it clear her concerns were about how the charity was being affected by poor governance.

That statement by Harry's friends is proving not only the misogyny and misogynoir claims, but also that Harry's main concern was how he and Meghan are portrayed rather than what was good for the charity.

Profhilodisaster · 01/04/2025 08:24

I wonder what's in it for Alex Rayner , he must be getting something out of it for him to be willing to make an absolute twat of himself.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 01/04/2025 08:24

You know, the more comes out, the more this reminds me of a very painful work situation I was once in.

I was a longstanding member of staff, promoted to the board to help fix a situation between the CEO and a business partner.

The CEO (who incidentally, was ginger, and who fucked off to live in Cali whilst trying to run the company still) was acting illegally. I had to find a way to get him out. The business partner was also dodgy as fuck, so I had to do a clearing of the stables, get the company in good order, and get rid of the toxic business partner too.

Staff said that it went from a toxic dump of a workplace to a place that "had a real buzz" and was "like a proper company for once".

But the ex business partner had it in for me. Harassed me directly and indirectly by sending awful messages to the new CEO, just like that Eton twat's.

The most chilling bit to me is the righteous hurt - this guy thinks he can destroy SC, because she deserves it, because she's put him in the wrong.

I too had documented everything, I could prove everything had been done legally and ethically.

I ended up burned out and signed off. I never went back. The company is now still thriving under the team I put together, but fuck me, it takes an AWFUL person to behave like this.

But they're convinced that they're the good guys, and there's no showing them otherwise. And you have to be the "bad guy". And that makes it ok to destroy you.

Thedom · 01/04/2025 08:26

Wow, that is the lowest of the low, who would have thought they could continue to scrape the barrel of insulting statements.

Harry and Meghan never fail to show what despicable people they and their lackeys are. That statement (because thats what it is) is word for word from the mouths of Harry and Meghan, "make sure you say this and that', they continue to expose themselves for doing exactly what was exposed by Jason Knauf.

The whole world saw what happened on that stage, thats the reason it went viral in the first place, it was not anything to do with Dr. Chandauka, it was Meghan who, white or black, wanted to be seen as the most important person on that stage.

We have seen Meghan do that very same thing many times before and many times since (as recently as the photo op for the LA fires disaster tourism jaunt). Wouldn't be surprised if someone on Reddit is putting together a reel of her doing the same thing not only to others but also to her husband.

That 'account' from Harrys friend, another one who was probably intimidated into helping them out, just reemphasises the kind of couple they are, racist, vengeful, and deluded about what the world really sees of them.

I hope Dr. Chanduaka has some legal recourse against their lackey boys or Harry and Meghan themselves.
