I always thought Sophie Wessex drew the short straw in that she had to go through the whole Queen's funeral cortege in a carriage alone with Meghan. I bet she had her iphone set to record in her handbag so she could refute any subsequent claims that would be made about what she said or did, or implied or sighed.

She really took one for the team that day.

She did indeed. It was probably to spare the others the additional stress.

Oh I don't know, she might actually have requested that gig 😄
Edited to add - and was probably provided with a Taser.

Help help - technical help needed. How do you do the vomit emoji - I can't find it.

Years ago I was on a message board that had an animated vomiting emoji - I think we need that here!

Oh the twats are out night in full force. Soz loves but your inane shite does not prevent public opinion. Or derailment. It just double underlines in wanker calligraphy style how far they’ll go to stop the chat.

The latest script seems to be heavy on the " let's wait and see" and " two sides to every story" message. And if you insist on carrying on the discussion - "bullies".

BasiliskStare · 31/03/2025 20:01

smilesy · 31/03/2025 19:50

I met David Essex. He is, unfortunately, very short but I have to say his eyes (many years ago at least) were the most mesmerising thing I’ve ever seen…
Sorry, as you were 🤪

What ! What! I am not tall so maybe he is tall enough though. Oh back in the day those eyes and the little smile. I am truly envious.

Gyles Brandreth has always been very pro-Harry and firmly in the "poor little boy who lost his mummy" camp.

He also knew Diana and she famously wore one of his jumpers with the slogan "I'm a luxury - few can afford"

The irony of Omid Scobie claiming that Princess Catherine is infantilised, when in fact it is, and always has been (Haz-been!) Harry.

Exactly.
I don't know if anyone else has watched the full Sky interview with Dr kelello lerotholi? I did but no idea where. I can only find the 38 sec clip that's being touted around saying I saw nothing in any of the meetings I attended . But the full clip was very interesting. Dr K spoke only about emotions and vague hints about monetary concerns. I was none the wiser as to why he and fellow trustees resigned. He talked about being with PH and PS right at the beginning (open house, rugby world cup on the big tv ..). He made such a big deal about the name and how it could only be relevant to the founders and their mothers etc. He demonstrated precisely what SC was saying. It wasn't viewed as charity which needed to adhere to governance or best practice or change with the times etc. ZHe was rightly proud of the charity and the impetus from the founders but he was effectively saying it can't be run by anyone else for emotional reasons.

Isn't Kelello Lerotholi the cousin of Prince Seeiso who rarely attended any board meetings?

Talking of whom...Omid Scobie has gone very quiet of late.

He has hasn’t he?

LemonLeaves · 31/03/2025 20:07

In my complete doziness I was on the other thread wondering where everyone was. Then saw the news story about the "imperious" message and wondered why it was still so quiet. Then realised that I'd got the 1000th post and there was a new thread 😂

I see that double standards, both sides of the story and touring the newsrooms have been added to the script. It really must be very inconvenient to have to keep sidestepping the fact that SC only spoke out in response to Harry starting all of this. Talk about an own goal.

I haven't seen the Gyles & Camilla segment, but based on what I've read, it wouldn't surprise me if Gyles was doing some defending because KC3 is concerned about the absolute pasting PH is getting. When your youngest is neck deep in manure it must be difficult to stand by and not try and help them even a little, despite the fact that they jumped in feet first.

TheMeasure · 31/03/2025 20:15

ITV coverage about H&M is always dire. GMB this morning is a case in point. I used to like Susannah Reid but she's insufferable in her determination to defend the Sussexes.

MrsLeonFarrell · 31/03/2025 20:18

Rhaidimiddim · 31/03/2025 19:46

Except that this latest situation is one that H precipitated. He could have not made an announcement or made it at a different point in time or in a different way. This one is not a matter of luck, it is entirely of their own making.

That's a good point. Except I don't think Harry is capable of leaving a situation alone if he thinks he can cast himself as the innocent victim. He seems obsessed with getting completely positive press whilst doing things like this that open him up to criticism. It's mad.

MrsLeonFarrell · 31/03/2025 20:20

My2cents1975 · 31/03/2025 19:45

A Nigerian colleague mentioned that H&M need to beg for forgiveness from PP and QE2 as their blessings are being blocked from the beyond.

Two/three weeks earlier a visiting colleague of Thai heritage said that dishonoring the ancestors has resulted in issues for H&M which will persist until H&M correct themselves in front of their ancestors.

I thought it interesting that 2 different cultures from different continents shared the same concept connecting being in good standing with deceased relatives with blessings/good fortune for the living.

It's also interesting that criticism isn't limited to this country. It's almost as if he has shown people who he is and they believe it.

LemonLeaves · 31/03/2025 20:22

The As Ever launch reminds me so much of Cherry Menlove (remember her?). Desperately trying to connect and find a USP, but not quite getting it right. Trying to be relatable and coming across as insincere and gushy.

I've read on a previous thread that one of the DoS' challenges is that she's been so many things in just a few short years. Feminist, ground-breaking pioneer, content creator, philanthropist investor, and now home-making guru with a hefty dollop of tradwife. It's really inconsistent.

Or Autumn - Meet David Essex . Although even I might have recoiled at that ( the wording - not meeting David Essex ) who was in the Lamplight days what my Granny , who has popped up a bit on this thread, called my heart-throb. Actually given my age I probably wouldn't mind meeting him now even without his curly haired earrings blue eyed prettiness 😊

I did meet David Essex ... at the dentist!

Yes he had the most beautiful eyes ... when he said hello to me in the dentist waiting room ....

potsandmud · 31/03/2025 20:29

@Weepixieno idea about bots, but i would say that the “machine” would employ a number of wannabe PRs of a youngish age to cover various influential sites - esp the ones like MN where threads are often cited by journos. It’s easy money - couple of hundred quid a day and the objective to counter negative opinion. Or as per below just talk shit making it less appealing to genuine posters to weigh in. It’s all part of an overall strategy except its utter nonsense and does very little to change anything because public sentiment is so skewed against them: and the best advice is for them tO STFU and have some humility in the wake of the carnage they left.

Talking of whom...Omid Scobie has gone very quiet of late.

That's been since he named Charles and Catherine as the "royal racists" in the Dutch edition of Endgame, and naturally tried to claim it was someone else's "mistake"

I've said this before, but will always believe it was a step too far and that the RF brought in the big gun lawyers to frighten him sh1tless

potsandmud · 31/03/2025 20:31

It’s no different than influencing media outlets to side with them. It’s just a different target at grassroots. Once you’re aware of this you can see it a mile off.

I'm seeing a lot of "let's wait and see" and "it was just a spat over a photo why is SC being difficult taking it so seriously".

I think she should stop playing roles. If she was authentic, it would be fine.
Obviously, she's no great cook, bit I think she probably enjoys being a hostess, so this show seems right for her. If she just dials it down a bit, has some interesting guests, it could be ok.
Will it make her very rich? Unlikely, but it could be the most successful she's been.

MissRoseDurward · 31/03/2025 20:35

Also the poster yesterday called something with lips in the names - were they real or were they a robot kind of thing set on a loop?

I've been wishing for an Ignore button.

I remember thinking that about Sophie at the time. (Sophie Wessex as was, that is, as there's more than one Sophie on the thread.) I daresay they thought she could be relied on to keep calm whatever rudeness and provocation was offered and not provide anything which could be spun negatively.

ThePoshUns · 31/03/2025 20:36

Oh dear the photo that they have snipped from the GP video is not the most flattering of MM
