We won't agree so no point in discussing!

Well done Harry visiting Ukraine and with Invictus too. He was in and out before it could be reported on, which is even better.

Anyone who knocks this visit really needs to have a good look at themselves. He was at a rehabilitation centre for amputees and he was invited by the Chief Exec of the Centre, and of course the tie up with Invictus is relevant, as the CEO of Invictus said Ukraine is a vital part of the charity's work, and they were present too . Well done him.

Bingo!
A pp said there'd be some weird try at guilt tripping about disabled veterans😁

Are you referring to me? Guilt tripping?!

I think it was a good visit by him. we are all entitled to our views, and I have expressed mine.
Yours are relevant to you too!

That was me - this morning. It's part of the standard accusations of criticising parents, mothers etc and suggesting you are inhumane. Predictable !

More interviews, The Telegraph this time, , seems he still believes and expects his father should pull strings to get him what he wants from the taxpayer.

He has made clear that he believes the King could intervene in the matter. Sir Clive Alderton, the King’s private secretary, is a member of Ravec.
However, Buckingham Palace sources have strongly refuted the idea that the monarch could involve himself in the judicial process.

People would be shocked by what’s being held back,” he said, adding that his “worst fears have been confirmed by the whole legal disclosure in this case and that’s really sad”.

So, Harry's used Invictus to pay for his trips to Nigeria, Colombia and Ukraine. But no Israel, which joined Invictus to a great fanfare in the same year as Nigeria and Colombia, with some financial support from a Russian-Israeli oligarch.

I wonder why not?

@TulipTiptoer So the security provided could have stopped Putin from dropping a bomb or shelling the medical facility yesterday?

That’s like saying that anyone visiting Gaza right now with a security detail will be 100% safe guaranteed.

I don’t see how that’s possible in a war zone.

One factor to bear in mind is that Lviv, unlike e.g. Kyiv, is a long way from Russian held territory.

As a result unlike the more eastern territories of Ukraine or even somewhere like Gaza there would be a decent amount of warning of any incoming.

Harry visited part of a country at war, fair enough there's a slightly elevated risk..but he was nowhere near any front line.

glitterturd · 12/04/2025 15:14

so he's playing at being in a war zone?

BruFord · 12/04/2025 15:50

@notimagain Yes.It’s in the context that’s surprising.

So, safer than a wedding in Chelsea, would you say?

Ummmm...don't know Chelsea that well these days, 😏

Of course to Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh visited Kyiv itself about twelve months ago when the war was "hotter"....

Harry's quick nip to Lviv might be worthy abut I'm not sure we are into bravery territory.

A source close to the Duke of Sussex, 40, tells PEOPLE that Harry was unable to attend the wedding because security wasn't provided for the Duke's visit to the U.K., which makes attending events or moving around the country very challenging.

The Real Reason Why Prince Harry Missed His Friend's Wedding Despite His Visit Back to the U.K.

Prince Harry did not attend his friend Lord Vivian's wedding in London despite being in the U.K. around the same time for a court hearing surrounding his security in the country.

The bride is Dr. Yalie Saweda Kamara a black Sierra Leone / American, prize winning writer, Professor of English, researcher and Poet Laureate.

I wonder if she has any opinions on PH interactions with Dr Sophie Chandauka?

Maybe he was advised not to attend......

@DelectableMe On balance I'd say no. But that's purely because the Flower Show isn't on at the moment. Different matter then. 😁

You’ve got to admit that’s a great headline!

It's a rip off from the NYP. Which absolutely isn't a tabloid because only the UK have tabloids and it's only the vile UK tabloids who are critical of H&M

So what is Harry doing to fill his days?
DelectableMe · 13/04/2025 15:56

Well as long as they make the headlines, they'll be happy!

Presumably it's challenging because without outriders no one would realise he was driving past.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 13/04/2025 21:02

Why would anyone want Mr Grumpy Pants at their wedding anyway? All the attention that should be on the bride and groom would be on The Incredible Sulk who would, feasibly, get insanely drunk and spend the reception shouting at everyone about how terrible his wife is. I mean his life is, sorry.

Prince Harry's visit to Ukraine is hardly hypocritical. Ukraine, while experiencing a brutal conflict, has an environment that allows for structured, controlled visits with high security measures, including military support and coordination with international entities. The risks involved in Ukraine are known, managed, and mitigated by extensive security protocols. In contrast, the issue Harry raised about the UK's security isn't about high-risk zones or a war zone—it’s about a lack of protection in a peaceful environment where his family is being targeted by the media. The two situations are fundamentally different: one involves active, organized support in a war zone, and the other concerns the safety of a private individual and his family from intrusive and potentially dangerous media attention in a country with a peacekeeping responsibility.

I'm really confused this statement. When Harry is in the UK, he's been offered a secure accommodation in BP, which he turned down. He was offered the secure Frogmore Cottage, which he gave up. He was offered a large secure apartment in KP, which he turned down. He is offered security if he provides 30 days notice. They want him to be secure.

Also the media isn't trying to hurt him. The reporters were more at risk from the shouty fan than Harry was from the reporters.

What's Harry's next trip going to be? Sudan? Looks like he's scouring the world for active war zones.

Thedom · 14/04/2025 07:55

I just only realised Harry wasn't even 45 miles from the Polish border Lviv is about 1000 km from the Russian towns which have suffered the most from the Russian invasion.

Typical celeb showmanship.

StartupRepair · 14/04/2025 12:33

Perhaps he is angling for an award. Bravery in Ukraine can go on the shelf next to Legend of Aviation.

DelectableMe · 14/04/2025 12:53

Yes, there hasn't been an award for a while.
